Richard provided me with excellent customer service tonight. He was working at the Lamar location by himself, with no air conditioning, and had several items to fix, yet took the time to look at my Iphone to assess whether it could be fixed immediately or if I needed to come back after he was finished with the other items. He quickly determined that the microphone in my phone was just loose and did not need to be replaced and made my day by resolving the issue which was caused by AT&T's repair service when they replaced my Iphone screen. And at no charge!!! I did buy some lightbulbs and batteries while I was there though.... I will be a lifelong customer of Batteries Plus now that I know you can repair Iphones and when I was in the store, my husband noticed that you have marine batteries cheaper than where he has bought them in the past. I went into this place to buy replacement blinker bulbs for my truck, and after a quick check of their database I was sold 2 pairs of bulbs. When I tried to install the bulbs a few days later I realized they were not even close to being correct. When I attempted to return the bulbs and swap them for the correct bulbs the clerk rechecked the system and got the same answer for the type of bulb that I need. He then told me "our database is always right," and he refused a return. Obviously not. Do yourself a favor and go to one of the four auto places down the road. read more

I'm convinced the person that created a store that sells nothing but batteries is a flat-out genius. Why? Because batteries are one of those things that people never think about until they need them. Oh, and you know that odd-sized Energizer 344 1.5 volt battery you need replaced? Good luck finding one of those at Walmart or CVS. In other words, Batteries Plus has the perfect niche market. They carry batteries that most stores do not and, as luck would have it, there's a Batteries Plus location conveniently near you! Unfortunately, opening up a store that sells nothing but batteries means A) you need to sell a bunch to make a profit and B) you need to drastically markup your prices, too. And that's the biggest issue I have with Batteries Plus: You're paying for convenience. Remember that Energizer 344 1.5 volt battery I mentioned before? One sells for around $5 at Batteries Plus--or you can buy *five* off Ebay for nearly the same price (shipping included). If you're looking to get the best deal possible, and you don't mind the wait, the battery you're looking for can most likely be found online for much less. However, if time and convenience are factors, or maybe you just need guidance to find the correct replacement, Batteries Plus can be an asset. read more

I went into Batteries Plus Bulbs to have the battery in my watch replaced. The technician, Sterling, explained that it wasn't the battery, it was the watch which was poorly designed and prone to mechanical failure. He took his time to explain some better brands of watches that have longer life spans. He dug through a box of dead watches to show me some specific models not to buy. Then, he referred me to a business that may be able to fix the broken watch for a reasonable price. (On the understanding that the watch probably won't last a very long time.) Additionally, Sterling and I discussed replacing broken screens on Samsung Galaxy phones, a service which is done in the shop. I had previously done it on my phone but made an error in a nonfatal step. Sterling carefully explained in detail how to do it correctly should I attempt to do it again. If you ever need a new cellphone battery, car battery, or basically any kind of battery you could ever need, this is the place to go. Also, they sell light bulbs for your car and home appliances and all sorts of other light bulbs. The people that work there are nice and will help you. And they sell a lot of fun gadgets. While charging, my daughter's iPhone 6 was knocked off the table by one of our cats. The metal end of the charging cable became lodged inside the charging port of the phone, and the phone quickly died as we were not able to plug in any other charging cables into the port. This morning we brought the phone into the store, not really knowing how complex it would be to fix. Well, Sterling took the phone away, and came back within a minute (yes, that's 60 seconds), holding a pair of tweezers with the offending piece of metal cable end in one hand, and my daughter's working phone in the other. I want to say how impressed I am with Sterling's helpful and friendly attitude. I'm normally a die hard online shopper, but next time I have a need for bulbs (I never knew there were so many different kinds) or batteries, I will visit this store instead. Needless to say, if our cats decide to attack any of our cell phones again, we will bring them straight to Sterling again. read more

After my horrible experience with the AT&T store, they pointed me to the direction of this location and it was actually the best thing they could do for me. I was greeted by an extremely helpful associate. I came in there frustrated and he just took my phone, looked up the info, grabbed the correct battery, in which they had tons of and asked me what was going on with my phone. Without any knowledge about my phone he helped me even fix my phone and said that it had a lot to do with the battery and gave me pointers. Was told by B+ email that my item (ordered by the B+ website) was "ready to be picked up!" at the assigned Austin, TX store. I showed up at the store and they had no idea what I was talking about until looking at some info, I guess on their B+ website, and they then told me it might be another week before the item comes in. I traveled fairly far to get the item which I guess I'll have to repeat -- this pretty much wipes out the value of the 10% discount I'll get at the Store (for ordering online) when the item does ever come in.
