This place is great, why hadn't I checked it out earlier. The name says batteries, but I never would have thought to come in for a car battery, or a motorcycle battery, scooter battery. who knew? I actually came in for a cell phone battery. no sense in replacing my phone if it only needs a new battery. When I was pleasantly surprised they did all sorts of batteries. They give a guarantee on their batteries.. who does that? I also came in with my friend who was replacing a battery on her scooter (since the one she got with it new only lasted a couple months). We were able to walk in with the old one and they had replacements on hand. Since this is the kind that has to be mixed and then charged, we opted to have them take care of that for us and just come back later in the day to pick it up. I had dropped my Apple 8 plus one too many times and cracked my screen. I had insurance, however it meant shipping the phone off for repair, plus a deductible of $200. I had heard someone mention Batteries Pus. So I have them a call. The said they could tKe care of it for $150 with same day service. So I ran down dropped my phone off. Expecting to be without my phone for most of the day. To my surprise they called less than a hour later, said the work had been completed. And sure enough, good as new. Shout out to Mike for making my life easier today. I had bought a battery for my motorcycle the day prior at the Sparks location, smooth transaction, nothing wrong. When installing the battery, I fumbled and misplaced one of the sets of hardware (1 nut and 1 bolt). The store was closed already so I waited until the next morning to inquire if they had extras. I got to the Sparks location, was met by a different gentleman from the day before who had zero customer service the other woman did. She was cordial, this guy couldn't care less about me being there especially since I wasn't trying to buy a battery. I asked how they were doing and was ignored. I asked if they had any extra hardware and before I even finished my question I was told "Nope, none" with a sigh in their voice. "Don't have anything like that here." I was pretty disappointed especially since all my online searches were giving me shipping options for what I needed. I really needed this battery as I use my motorcycle for a daily commute, so this was pressing. Instead of cutting my losses I called the other location in South Reno and without any hesitation, a man named Mike told me to come in and check out any spare sets of hardware cause they had a ton. He gave me an extra set just in case and didn't have me pay anything. He saved me a lot of stress and took away the stress caused by the Sparks location. I'm sure this is a great place to get things like light bulbs and batteries, but if by chance you need your smart phone's screen repaired they can do that also but with one little problem. Batteries and bulbs offers that service, even a way to make an appointment except it's not an appointment, the appointment you make on their web site does not hold a spot for you so when I arrived for a 1130am appointment I was told sorry it will take four hours to fix your phone, so the appointment is a waste of time. So I found a place that fixed my phone in about 40 minutes. Lesson learned. read more

I just had an awesome experience at Batteries Plus in Reno, NV, near the Olive Garden on S. Virginia street. I was a little skeptical at first to see if this store was able to fulfill the need of a new car key battery and a very specific bulb for #WineyMunkies Food Truck. The staff was great! They were all interested in helping me fix the problem that brought me into the store. Not only did they have the battery for my car key, the person helping me noticed my car key was broken. He went into the back and returned with a fixed key. That saved me a few hundred going to the car dealership and purchasing a new car key. They also had the special light bulb that I needed for my food truck. The price was spot on and they did not charge extra for fixing the key. I went in for a battery for my key fob, had that replaced, then I asked if they had a phone charger for my car ,to charge my phone, they did not have much to choose from but the cable the young man gave me told me it should do the job, If it didn't then to bring it back. In the process of checking me out another cashier was using their point of sale when some glich caused my pos to get lost and the transaction had to be reentered again. The manager had to make sure I had not been charged twice, if so he personnel gave me his card to let him know if their was a problem. He had called later to tell me that it was charge just the one time. The couple of times I had used it it would say it was charging, but wasn't, it was draining it. When my daughter confirmed that was the case With charger I brought it back with receipt 35 days later. Most business give you 60 days. I am not in my car every day to charge my phone, most days I do not use my phone that much where I have to charge it more than once a day. I was told when I got there that it had to be in original packaging and within 14 days. That was not what I was told when I purchased it and on top of that the young man gave me a transferring cable. Bad first impression. Made an appointment for battery replacement and the guy assumed it was for screen repair. Was in a bad mood and when we told him it was for battery he immediately got strongly defensive saying "I DIDNT KNOW!" Well... if you checked my appointment you wouldve and not give us so much attitude about it. Needless to say though, they did replace the battery quicker than expected and was nicer when we cam back. I don't even know where to start with this place. I brought in my completely trashed iPhone - I mean, it had dirt, water damage, a shattered screen, and chocolate (don't leave a chocolate bar in your car console, forget it, and put your phone there) - and they cleaned it out, replaced screws, replaced the screen, and got it working like new for a very reasonable price. I've been going here for decades and they continue to have awesome products and team. I jumped my truck, at home, twice in last then 24 hours. I took my truck in to Battery Plus with my 27 ft travel trailer hooked on the back. I pulled up to the shop door and out came my favorite Mike. He figured out the problem. He tested batteries and all was good. We discovered my dome light was staying on. The switch wasn't working. He suggested pulling the fuse. There was no designated fuse for the dome light. He said let me go in the shop and look up Dr. Google. He soon arrived back to the truck and had found out that resetting the batteries helped someone else with same 2021 Ford F 250. He took off the cables, waited a minute or two and hooked them back up. Voila ! It worked, dome light now works properly. Mike took extra time to make sure he exhausted what he could find out to solve the problem. I am truly greatful as I was just leaving home w/my travel trailer to drive to drive about 450 miles to Morro Bay. Great, great service! Great team! read more

Called Batteries Plus Bulbs to see if they had a battery for a 2004 Toyota Corolla. We needed an emergency replacement to have a functional car. Robert answered the phone and told us that he had the battery and would install in our car for no charge. We were a few minutes away, so in a matter is less than half an hour, we had a new battery. Robert also checked the charging system on the car and found that all was well. We were also able to find an odd-shaped battery for a home device and an odd LED replacement bulb while at the store. My iPhone 6S plus screen would not work. Discovered BPB did repair them. Made appointment and was expecting a 3 hour wait. Somehow, the guys were able to repair it within 1 hour. Since I use my phone to run my business, this was a lifesaver. I appreciate the quick turn around time and friendly service here. Very impressed and will come back again. Highly recommended. This place is so SHADY. I had an iPad mini that needed a new digitizer. 2 days after dropping it off, I got a call from Beau (the less than nice service guy that I gave it to) telling me that it wasn't the digitizer, it was the mother board. He gave me the choice to either have it put back together unfixed for an undisclosed charge (claiming he needs to use his parts) OR I can leave it there and he'll "recycle" it for no charge!!! WHAT A GUY!!!! Until this point, everything worked except 1/3 of the touch screen.... BUT EVERYTHING ELSE WORKED! So, this guy was trying to get me to give him my iPad for what reason??? He didn't tell me at first that it would only be $3 to put it back together (probably because he was scamming me for the remaining parts of my WORKING iPad) .....so I tell him I want it back, he hangs up. Then I get the iPad back and NOTHING WORKED and the screen is now chipped!!!! So I brought it back for Beau to look at. 2 days later I spoke to someone that was supposed to be the boss. He called to find out what happened. After getting nasty with my wife on the phone, he told me that the chances are great that when they open it and it won't work again ...and he tells me this like I'm supposed to just know this....I'm not the pro, I brought it to you. So I told him that if his employee would've told me that "there's a really big chance that once I open it, it'll never work again", I would've said no thanks and I would've taken my iPad back. But he didn't. He smugly took my iPad, ripped off the screen protector and made me confident in his ability to fix it. So basically, he was scamming me to get my iPad for parts. I called Batteries Plus in slight despair this morning. My car battery died last night (in my 18 mo old car) and I had to get jumped 3 times in the past 12 hours. I drove to Walmart to get a new battery purchased and installed. After sitting for an hour, their mechanic informed me that the intake person had told me they carries my battery when they didn't and in fact no Walmart carries it. COOL THANKS. I gave Don a call at Batteries Plus, and he was incredibly helpful over the phone, checkng to make sure they had the correct battery in stock and even quoting it me the price over the phone. When I arrived 5 minutes later, they were ready for my walk in needs and had me in and out with purchase and install in under 3 minutes. I really do like Batteries Plus; it's a huge time-saver. If I have a weird battery -- like the one for my heart monitor, for example -- I know I can go to Batteries Plus and they'll have the battery for it. I used to REALLY like Batteries Plus, but won't be shopping there anymore. For literally years & years & years I have been taking old alkaline batteries in to Batteries Plus for recycling and have never had a problem. Today, the guy behind the counter tells me they will only accept alkaline batteries for recycling if I pay a fee to cover the shipping back to the recycling facility. Three times he tries to tell me, "You can just throw these away. There's nothing in them except zinc and magnesium, so they won't pollute." What a load of crap! The truth is they're just too damn cheap to cover the shipping charges themselves anymore -- which would be OK if he had just come out and said so. Batteries Plus has the right to set their own store policies, and if they no longer want to offer this service to the community, fine. However, I also have the right to be treated with some respect when I go out of my way to do the right thing, And I will not shop there any longer either. Very friendly service. Went today and had four watch batteries changed for around $23. A little steep, to be sure, but I couldn't get two of the watches open myself. One of the other employees chatted pleasantly with me & my husband while another changed out the batteries on the spot. They are loathe to work on any watch valued at over $200, mind you. Hence the removal of one star from my rating. The gentleman suggested we take our pricy watches to a jeweler. They were assisting a woman next to me with her garage door opener that she dropped & ran over, and they were very professional about it. They had some cool looking LED lighted drink coasters at the register, and it looks like they sell lots of different lightbulbs as well. Batteries for security cameras, cell phones (their poster in the window showed a Blackberry I owned in 2007!), and other obscure battery-powered items. I've been here several times to get different types of batteries. The staff are always very helpful and I've never had to wait very long for assistance. They seem to have a very good knowledge of the products they sell. Their prices are reasonable expescially on rechargeable batteries. In June 2017 I bought a iPhone battery which they installed. It started to overheat so I brought it back in in October and they replaced it for free(due to included warranty) and said if anything happens to it they can fully refund us until the start of june 2018. We went in today(April 12) and they said our refund policy ended 6 months ago and can't do anything so we ended up removing the battery to then take advantage of Apple's current $30 battery deal due to the down throttling lawsuit. read more

The place I bought the device didn't carry parts (??), on online search was fruitless. I have purchased traditional batteries from this store before, always friendly and most always have what you need. Alex, who has been there for a decade, said he had the battery, but not one with my connector. I drove up there on my lunch hour, told the friendly cashier what I needed, and was out of there in five minutes. As a nice unexpected bonus, he even set the right time for me!!
