On April 3rd 23 I parked next to where I could recycle oil legally at O'Reilly's in Sparks the back door was open two people out there and they said I had to go ask the front door because it would be just too easy to put it in the door that was open because two inches away was the tank as I waddled my ass into the store waiting in line when it was my turn the elderly white haired gentleman said I had to leave get the oil bring dirty oil into your store and walk to the back where that open door was I said I'm parked in the back can't you just let me bring it through real rude no so it was dump illegally because he wouldn't let me do it legally and I wasted my time and gas to do it legally so it's in your parking lot assholes read more

If I could give ZERO stars I would. I usually enjoy going to this auto parts store... but on this particular occasion the customer service was not so exceptional. Lauren could not seem to help me and all she wanted to do was make snarky remarks to me and flirt with my husband. Normally it's not a huge deal, I get it... but to tell him he "smells good" in front of me and continue to laugh at everything he said, including when he asked for the tool he needed and this lady continued to giggle her little head off... it wasn't funny. He needed to find the tool and all you could do was giggle, flirt and twiddle your thumbs. Then come to find out she is the manager... no thanks. On top of that, she said "I love you too" (with that annoying giggle) when I told MY HUSBAND that before I walked away (cause I was pissed). How disrespectful. I will go to the other O'Reilly's. Horrible customer service by some young punk. We asked for help with a battery, he completely ignored us and kept cleaning the counter mats. The mat was so dirty it made a handprint of his hand and he holds it up to us and says "look, I made a hand print". Huh? Help me with my battery please. Then he keeps ignoring us and I ask if he is going to help us or if someone else can. He says yes and then flirting with his co workers tells her to shut the hell up. Who are you hiring Auto Zone?? It's been exceptionally cold lately and my old battery decided it's was gonna give up the ghost. Decided to stop here and make sure it actually was the battery and not the alternator. Our car needed a new battery. I called and spoke to Kristy at the O'Reilly's at 345 E. Prater Way. I asked if they replaced the battery if we bought it there as we had gone to the O'Reilly's at 232 Los Altos Pkwy and was told by an employee there that they could not install the battery for us as it was snowing. It was snowing but the snow was falling very lightly and it was not below freezing. Kristy first checked and said they did have the battery we needed in stock and to come over and they would replace the battery for us (in the snow!!). Not only did she efficiently replace the car battery, she also installed our new windshield wipers. Her attitude was great. She was professional and very knowledgeable, and more importantly, she provided the utmost customer service anyone could ask for. I had the best experience here with Jenny and Phillip. After an extremely frustrating time at the other Prater Way location where they basically refused to help me, Jenny and Phillip went above and beyond to install my headlight bulb. They took special time and care to install a new headlight bulb in my car, figuring out how to get into the area in my oddly-configured car. They went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of and were SO INCREDIBLY NICE the whole time! Incredible service by both of them. They deserve a bonus and a raise! It's been a snowy winter as anyone living in the Reno Sparks area this year can attest to. I'm an outside sales rep which means I'm often driving in adverse conditions. The other day I was doing just that, driving to a lunch appointment to meet with a client. The snow had stopped and it was sunny out but it was one of those melt off days where mud and snow and ice and water just splash everything and everyone. You can't get away with an empty washer fluid container let alone have no windshield wipers. My windshield wipers must have been taking a beating this winter because while I was driving my drivers side wiper just broke and fell off the car. I made it to where I needed to go by driving slow and staying mostly dry but after my appointment I knew my next stop was the nearest auto parts store. I'm not mechanically inclined at all, my boyfriend is so I usually don't have to be. It's just not my super hero power ... But he wasn't there and I couldn't wait. I tried to find what I needed by myself but I didn't see any options . (It seems that my car uses some off sizes, of course, it does with tires too. Go figure ) I went to the counter and a very friendly young gentleman helped me, he figured out quickly what I needed and grabbed it and I paid. Then he walked me out to my car and changed my wiper blades for me in the freezing cold, icy, dirty muddy parking lot. I didn't get his name and I looked for it on my receipt later but I wish I had. My car kept stalling. It took a few jumps to get it to the O'Reilly Auto Parts store. Here they tested my alternator and battery. Both were a little low but still ok. Then the man who tested my car noticed that my alternator belt had snapped. This was all that was the matter with my car! Definitely a rainbow in my day of car problems. This is a good place. They are helpful, knowledgable, and treat their customers with respect. I bought the alternator belt at O'Reillys and went to a (shady) repair shop to have it put on. Had I went straight to the repair place without going to O'Reilly's first, I suspect they would've charged me a lot more labor to "diagnose" the problem. read more

Let me begin by saying I know nothing about cars- a terrible thing to know nothing about. My head light went out and it was time for new windshield wipers as well. It was dark, and verrry cold outside and despite that, an employee came out to my car to see what light bulb I needed AND changed my windshield wipers for me. Very kind helpful staff... I purchased two different types of window cleaners at O'Reilly's because I couldn't remember which one my husband wanted. Once I got home, my husband chose the one he wanted and I went back to O'Reily's to return the other one. The sales person did tell me the amount which was going back on my card but I wasn't really paying attention as I assumed I was getting back what I originally paid for the window cleaner. Originally I paid $6.93 for the window cleaner. Imagine my surprise when I returned home and realized that I was refunded $4.09. I'm assuming that was some kind of restocking fee of $2.85! Had the sales person told me about this outrageous restocking fee, I would have chosen to keep the window cleaner. read more

My wife went to this O'Reillys to pick up a O2 sensor the person tried to sell her a more expensive (over 100 dollars) part (she had already looked up the part online) when she asked about the lower cost (60 dollars) part the guy argued with her and stated that the wires were not terminated. She told him that there were instructions and she could terminate the wires. He went in back and she could hear a bunch of shuffling around and he brought the part out. She could tell the box had been opened and when she got home and opened the box the instructions had been removed.
