I thought the price was a little high and started calling other garages. I've been in Portland for a while and remembered seeing this place - I called them- and they quoted me around $500 and the car would be ready the next day. I left my car there yesterday around 2 pm and it was ready before 11 am the next day. Awesome folks- kind, professional, and quick. They cleaned up the connections and corrosion and didn't charge me a core charge, since I was exchanging my battery with them. Other places, where I would have to do it myself, required me to take the battery home, install it, return my battery to the place I bought it, wait in line again, turn in the core, get my $15 or something, and drive back home. The convince of being at ABE is all that was taken out of the equation and for difference of price to, for example Costco, my time was and also freezing in the cold putting the battery in, was saved. The staff at NW Battery couldn't have been more helpful. They ran tests to see how much of a charge my battery would take, and ultimately gave me a loaner while they put my battery on a more industrial strength charger overnight. I'm happy to say that they fixed my problem, and that they stand behind their products. He then took time to come outside with me and show me how to plug my phone into my rather old sound system (you cannot use CarPlay with a cord) and how to make the nav system work so that it played directions over my car speakers without interfering with the blue tooth connection to my hearing aids. While there, he diagnosed a problem I was having with my laptop and showed me how to bring it back on line.. It was an operator error so no repair was needed and no charge was made.
