Wanted to send out a warning for anyone looking to buy a vehicle. DO NOT GO TO BATTLEFIELD TOYOTA!!!! We went on a test drive yesterday (and before anyone says it we know there are no holds at a dealership) but we then went home and discussed it overnight. I went online this morning before they opened and filled out all the paperwork through their "SmartPath" program, which states that you fill out all the info then the dealership calls and book a time for you to sign the final papers and pick up the car you just purchased. About an hour after everything was completed on my end I hear from the sales person we dealt with (who was absolutely amazing by the way) that someone was at the lot to look at that car and it was being sold out from under us because we weren't physically there. Then what is the point of the "SmartPath" program you might ask because I did. I was told it is a Toyota thing not a Battlefield thing so they basically don't honor it! Never have I ever gone through such a shady process and never will I deal with ANY Battlefield company at all ever again! Buying a car is a stressful process as is and they just made it so much worse. (I do want to again add that it is sad that the sales lady didn't get the commission from this sale from us because she was just awesome through everything yesterday and agreeing to come in today on her day off to meet us.) read more

This review is way overdue, but I really want to inform people about the great experiences my husband and I have had with Mike DeNoble and others at this dealership! We needed 2 new cars and prefer Toyotas, but our local Toyota dealership has gone way downhill, so we put it off. After hearing from our friends about the integrity and friendliness at Battlefield Toyota, we drove 45 minutes (in March 2023) to give them at try. After seeing that the initial sales person was someone we didn't want to deal with, we hung around in the parking lot and hoped the person who said hello as we passed by him in the showroom (Mike) would come out to talk to us. He did, and we bought a Camry the same day! We knew what we wanted, and they happened to have two on the lot (which is unusual these days). Mike was so straightforward, kind, and knowledgeable, and he treated us with respect and without pressure. We also wanted a RAV4 (harder to get), and he communicated with us regularly to let us know what models they were going to have available. Finally in May they had just what we wanted, so we bought a RAV4. The process went very smoothly again. Since then we have had both cars serviced there, and everyone we've met has treated us with respect, integrity, and efficiency. We even met people in the waiting room that also drive far to go to that dealership regularly. I have written reviews in the past, usually after experiencing either exceptional customer service or a really crummy experience. This is the first review I've ever been compelled to write on behalf of a car dealership. I didn't consider myself a serious buyer because financially I was "upside down" in a 2015 Toyota Sienna with 94K miles. I was prepared to walk away if the numbers didn't meet one simple criteria: my new monthly vehicle payment (@ 3.9% APR) needed to be at or below my existing monthly car payment. After some calling around to three banks and some additional negotiations with Paul, a mild-mannered Finance Manager, it appeared Toyota Motor Corp financing was offering the best terms possible given my credit scores. Paul ensured a generous trade-in allowance for my Sienna XLE. There were no unpleasant surprises. Battlefield Toyota worked hard to earn my business. We made an appt to test drive a vehicle. The rep looked at us incredulously and said, "you know this is a 50k car, right?" Well, of course we Do! We made an appointment. We should have left right then, but completed the test drive anyway. The rep knew nothing about the vehicle, was unable to educate us beyond the obvious, and provided no direction during the test drive. She spent the entire test drive on her phone texting. Overall, between the limited selection of the model we were interested in, the horrid staff, and general lack of welcome, we will not be purchasing here. read more

The sales process was very good and people there were really friendly. The only problem I had was I was promised a full tank of gas and only had a half of a tank and though I bought the hummer with no warranty, the very next day lights came on that I had a low tire. I took it to a garage and they checked air pressure in all the tires and I was told there was a bad sensor in one of the tires which the cost would run around $200. I was told this vehicle went through a inspection and in my opinion this is something that should have been fixed before putting on the lot. read more

I purchased a car here in January 2015. After buying the car I was hounded for almost 2 months via text message to write a review and here it is - an honest review. The process of finding the car is not the issue as I knew what I was looking for. The issue is with the sales team, management and overall customer service and lackluster experience. After purchasing the car with the Toyota Certification there are items on the check sheet that are not on the vehicle, not provided with the vehicle or not equipped on the vehicle. Apparently the inspector for the Certified Vehicle is unfamiliar with this Toyota or any Toyota. These items are checked to exist, or be equipped - although they don't. From something as simple as the master key to let the car start, which I had to return to the dealer to get the car reprogrammed after being told by my sales man that the only key that comes with the car is a valet key. Furthermore after getting the car, I was hounded by the salesmen to write a reviews on Google. One text is fine as a reminder but over 7 text messages and voicemails its borderline harassment. Four months later and two certified letters I still don't have the items promised that are on the checklist for the car, I have absolutely zero contact from the dealer. Are salesman and their managers pushy at times? Of course, that's their job. You think they are high pressure, go sit through a timeshare presentation... I was overall very happy with my experience at Battlefield Toyota. Joshua Calaway was a great salesman. Friendly and helpful. Nate, who came out to talk to us about financing options was not so great though. He was way too pushy for their financing options, and I had to tell him multiple times I was not interested because I had my own financing secured through my employer's credit union, which offered an extremely low interest rate, and payments come right out of my paycheck. They would not have been able to beat it, and I wasn't interested in hard hits on my credit to find out. Emily Schuyler, who finalized the sale, warranty options, paperwork, etc... was great. I would suggest she slow up a bit in the explanation of the various warranty options available though.  It was a bit hard to understand what was covered and which warranty we were agreeing to purchase. Very nice dealership. Everyone we worked with from our salesman, to the finance Mgr, to the service advisor were great. You can tell the dealership cares about its customers. We arrived late on a Saturday, about two hours before closing, but we were able to test drive the car we wanted, buy the car, and finish the paperwork that evening so we could drive it home. They stayed late to accommodate us. Also, we added some extra, dealer installed options to the car, and they had to be ordered. I assumed it would be weeks before they arrived even though our salesman said it would be a day or two. Nice surprise when the service advisor called me two days later to schedule the next day appt to have them installed. Our salesman has contacted me a few times via email to make sure everything is OK with the new car. This is so different than larger dealerships, where you are just a number. We're sold. Even though the dealership is further away than the one in town, we will return to Battlefield Toyota for service and future sales. Thank you! read more

I just bought a car from them on Saturday 10.27. My overall experience was great. The place is clean and updated and they were helpful. Our Salesperson Phil sat with us in the car and answered our questions. We bought hybrid so somethings he didn't know and he told us he will ask others and let us know and he did. However my car is not deep cleaned as i still smell the smoking smell and i see the spot in my back seat and saw little dirt here and there. We noticed some other problems so taking the car back to dealer its 50 miles from my place but they said they will deep clean the car and fix the little problems. read more

Overall a good experience at Battlefield Toyota. James was great. He explained everything clearly, was personal and very easy to talk to. I purchased a used Chevy Silverado from them that had only been on the lot for a few days. I actually paid more and went over my original budget to get this truck and keep my money local. The financing guy on the other hand....wasn't very personal and not easy to talk to. Like I stated earlier, I exceeded my original budget and price range to keep my money local and get this truck. In exchange for doing so, the guy wouldn't even entertain the idea on some sort of small free oil change/tire rotation package because "the truck isn't Toyota". I wasn't asking for a million free oil changes and 24/7 customer service, just something to make it feel worth spending the extra money and buying local in the county I grew up in. After I built that rapport with James and he made everything feel comfortable, the finance guy kind of lost that and it seemed like, now that they had my money, they didn't care anymore. Anyways, the dealership and James are great. The facility was clean and pretty nice actually. They had a few massage chairs that I didn't notice until the very end, or else I would have definitely used those! I would use and recommend James any day of the week! read more

The salesman are nice enough, but these guys are idiots who use old school car sales tactics you can read in any article about "How not to get ripped off at the dealer." Do they not understand that EVERYONE has a smart phone now? You cant hide numbers in the paperwork anymore. Dont finance through them, no matter what, and dont buy any of the service contracts/warranties/GAP insurance. Thats all a scam. It was really insulting when I told them I wanted an 'Out the door' price, and they agreed to it, only to tell me my payment was going to be X. Well X didnt sound correct, so I pulled up Bankrate.com and did the math. Sure enough, they had only dropped the car price $200 not the total invoice. They were seriously going to wait until I drove over an hour down there, AS IF I WOULDNT NOTICE OR CHECK THE NUMBERS BEFORE SIGNING. And here is the kicker, the car was covered in dings and scratches, on a donut, and had food and drink spilled in it. There was even standing water in the engine bay for some reason. They didnt have a leg to stand on bargaining wise, but still managed to waste a ton of my time. You can beat their prices ANYWHERE. Meanwhile, the exact same model sold at Sheehy for 50% less. Dont get me wrong Sheehy are no saints either, you have to watch out for the 'Sheehy Value' hidden fee that adds almost a grand to the price, but at least they dont try any of this old-school switcharoo crap on you. read more

In this case I feel that this place deserves my time even though they didn't serve me yummy food :) I drove an hour an a half to this specific dealership after finding what I was looking for online, for a price that was priced below what my local dealerships were offering. I was greeted by Patrick as soon as I started walking around. I appreciated him taking the time to come outside, (keep in mind it was 100 degrees and humid out) while most everyone else hung out in the air conditioning. I explained what I was looking for and he took meStraight to the car I had seen online . He rode with my husband and I to be sure to explain all Of the bells and whistles the vehicle had to offer. He was honest that he had not been in the business long and might have to ask Questions himself. He was not your typical car salesman who would BS you to make a sale. When we got back to the dealership I can't say the same for the others but that is the only reason I am not giving 5 stars and I will leave it at that. I ended up working with Patrick and the general manger Steve directly and we worked out a deal that left me with vehicle I wanted and a happy customer. I've bought many cars. Some through dealerships, some through private owners... this experience by far was the most painless. From the moment I emailed and inquired about a car on their lot to signing documents, I was in and out in no time with a no pressure at all. They were very upfront about everything and were already working at the speed of light but once I told them I needed to be in DC for dinner in about and hour and half, they had my car washed inside and out, tank filled and everything ready to sign in about 20 mins. Whaaaaaat? That's service! And I mean, this thing was spotless. I even had enough time to stop off at home to change and get ready before heading into DC. I can't say enough about the staff either. Ronnie Harper was a great salesman and everyone at the dealership was very friendly. I've walked into some dealerships feeling like all envious eyes were hawking my salesman and I. Not here. You could tell right away that the staff worked as a team and not individually. Culpeper is pretty far out there but if you're looking for friendly, fast service and a fair deal it's well worth the drive. read more

I was helping an elderly relative purchase a new car at this dealer, and we were quoted a price that was somewhat lower than the MSRP. Afterwards, we discussed her trade, and reached an agreement on that, too. While we were waiting, I discovered, through my smart phone, that the dealership was listing the exact same car (same VIN number) on their web site, for $2500 less than the lowest amount they had previously quoted us. When I pointed this out, I was assured we would receive the internet price. However, when the contract was presented, it was for the first (much higher) price. The sales manager then came in, told us (1) that the internet price was a cash price; (2) that their website was hosted by a third party (so what!); and 3) tried to convince us that we were getting such a great deal on the trade-in ($500), that they could not give us the internet price as well as accept our trade. We ended up doing the deal, using the internet price, and sold the trade-in to a private party. But if I hadn't had a smart phone handy, my relative would have ended up paying several thousand dollars more! Do your homework before looking at cars here, and beware the fast-talking sales manger! read more

So the issues just continue. Neither the dealer nor Toyota Corp were willing to do anything about breaking stuff on my truck. Turns out they broke a sensor and created a hole in the power steering line, but were able to slow the leak enough to say it wasn't leaking at the shop. Next comes the rack and pinion wasn't tight enough. It started banging everytime I made a turn. While I was under my truck fixing that issue the front CV joint seals on both sides, are leaking like crazy. Had another professional look at it and said it was absolutely piss poor workmanship on so many levels. So they more than likely disturbed the seals when they pulled the axles. The ground from the transmission to the body is broke in half, and the snapped a bolt off the holds the washer fluid reservoir on and didnt replace it. But they did use a bunch of self tapping screws to reattach the washer reservoir and the power steering reservoir leaving screw tips poking out of the wheel well. There were a few other bolts lose that would have fallen off had I not noticed and righted. They also broke, and admitted to breaking the a/c condenser when taking it off, yet they didnt recharge the a/c. Mind you I have put less than 400 miles on my truck since getting it back from the dealer. I'm scared to find out what they jacked up next. read more

Not sure what all the complaints were about. I had been looking for a new 2015 crewmax for a while now. I was able to negoitate a great deal with the sales guys via text message for the new car and a trade in amount on my old truck. After some back and forth via text message (which is much better than sitting for hours at the dealership) We came to an agreement and I drove the hour drive down there to get my truck. It was great, easy and stress free unlike most dealerships that do the back and forth. Plus they do the USAA car buying service which gave me extra discounts through USAA. I'm only not giving it a 5 star because like everything else I would have wanted a cheaper price but I went to 5 other dealerships and they were by far the best price and I got more features. The sales guys Brian is very laid back which I like. I would go back again. read more

Remember the days when you had to plan to be at the dealership all day? Yeah! No more. While I test drove my potential new car, they looked at my trade-in, and when I got back had very little haggling to do. Once a price was agreed upon for the new car and a fair trade was determined, I waited for a couple people ahead of me to meet the business manager (Kriss) who was very helpful.
