The chili‑sauce wings were the best part of the meal -- not a ton of meat on them, but the sauce was so good it didn't matter. I'd happily come back just for those. The mozzarella rounds, though... those things came out looking like fried hockey pucks. The breading was thick, greasy, and way too dense, and the marinara was heavy and bland, which didn't help their case at all. Baumhower's Victory Grille is a must visit if you are a Bama fan. Actually, they have locations throughout the state including one in that other town on the eastern side of the state. They also host, "Hey Coach" radio show at the Harper Lee Drive location. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant itself is packed with some great photos and memorabilia lining the walls.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The Geaux Fish is pretty good. It's a nice mahi mahi with a tasty sauce. It is a fun decor and very lively with all the televisions.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu has a lot to offer but 99% of everything is fried. We tried the mahi with shrimp étouffée. It was dry, lacked flavor and was a disappointment. The chicken tenders were average and the fryer oil needed to be changed. The tenders batter was very dark and thick. The hot honey chicken was good but again the fryer oil wasn't clean and the chicken breading was dark. The side salad was average iceberg with limited toppings but the ranch dressing was really good!! We tried the fried banana pudding, and the fried strawberry shortcake. They were already seated when I arrived. The food was good! We all had something different. I ended up ordering just 6 lemon pepper wings (crispy) and they were soooo good! Lunch special shrimp etouffe has absolutely no shrimp although the description says shrimp. I asked they said it's in the gravy. Hmmm I had not even one scrap of shrimp. Look it up on menu . I went there with a friend from out of town. We were there around 4:30. Waiter was really attentive and brought our food out in a timely manner. He also kept our drinks full. We ordered the fried pickles. They were really crispy dill strips...delicious. I ordered the Havana chicken with the black beans, rice and chips. It was tasty. My friend ordered the black and white chicken... he said it was really good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We celebrated my son's spring 2025 graduation from University of Alabama here and we had an amazing time with great food, fun sporty atmosphere, great phot ops and excellent service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had a party of 10 and waited maybe 10 min for an inside table which is amazing on this busy weekend. We had my grand daughter that is 20 months and in a high chair and alittle messy but our server and the staff never got upset when she spilled her drink or food. She came back with the napkins but then left us to clean the entire table ourselves. We wiped it down, understanding it was a busy Friday night--especially since the food is good--so we were okay with it, but it felt a little rude that we had to clean our own table. Then we placed our appetizer order for the fried mozzarella and gooey fries. When the appetizers came out, we received chili and gooey fries instead. When we asked about the mozzarella, the waiter admitted he clicked the wrong item and said he didn't really pay attention. That made us a bit concerned. Then the wings arrived, and one of them had absolutely no sauce. When we asked for more sauce, the waiter said he'd bring it, but a few minutes later, the manager came over looking very aggravated that we had even asked. Traveling from NC to LA we stopped by this spot in Alabama after seeing all the pictures online and so glad I did. My dad ordered us some wings I got the honey garlic and it was so good. I'd order those wings again. For my meal I order the Shrimp Naan it was delicious and filling. It was loaded with crispy shrimp and the naan and sauce was a great addition. For my little ones I ordered a Mac n cheese and cheesy fries. I didn't realize the cheesy fries had bacon but our kind waitress helped by getting us a new baconless version. For dessert I was able to try beignets for the first time. It did not exceed my expectations or my fathers. I love the Mobile location, so I decided to try out the Tuscaloosa spot. It was super busy since it was Alabama's homecoming weekend. Obviously our server was new. He was extremely nice, but I think they gave him too big of a section. It seemed like he had 8 or 9 tables. So, it took a while for him to get everything to us, but his service wasn't horrible. I liked him a lot. The fries were really good, but the wings did miss. Due to the increasing price of chicken, their wings are more expensive. Found this when we were looking for a stop between Tennessee and Gulfport Mississippi and this is well worth your time. We had gooey fries delivered hot in very few minutes and they were delicious. Ask your server to make a cocktail they are delicious and ask them for a recommendation from the menu our server offered three and we picked one with each of our party, and all three were slam dunks.
