Not very clean place. But we still went it thinking it was off peak hours. Ordered goat biryani, chicken Hakka noodles & idli. Very fair prices. Nice & clean utensils. The food was extra extra hot - of course it was microwaved. Then came the idli - it was sour - like bad sour - light brownish yellow. No one would serve it looking at the color. We reported and it was taken off the bill. Sambar was microwaved and it was very obvious. Wouldn't recommend unless this is the only place open. We always order Biryani from this place never had any issues but on Monday as my boys wanted to eat Biryani I ordered one Family pack Hyd Dum chicken Biryani and one Paneer Biryani this was what we got! By the time I came home the kids started eating but gagged and dumped the food and went for pizza. I was shocked to see the chicken burnt and the rice was sticky!! I was completely spoilt!! The paneer biryani also was not so great just rice on top of paneer curry!! This place right here I catered from them for a small family get together ( 12 people) and I ordered Gobi Manchurian, paneer tikka and eggplant salaan. All of them were absolutely delicious. My family couldn't stop talking about how good the food was. The manchurian was very different from the usual Manchurian I've gotten from other Indian restaurants. While it advertises as South Indian, there are still some North Indian dishes which is cool so you can get a little of each. The dosas are DELICIOUS, the naan is fresh, and the Goni manchuria is so spicy and crispy. This is my new favorite Indian restaurant in East Windsor. I ordered the Chicken Mughalai which is a chicken curry with a slightly creamy egg and coriander sauce. It was so delicious! It was creamy with just the right amount of spicy. It tasted like coriander and egg (and I love eggs). The chicken was well cooked. It came with a side of rice or naan and the side of rice was large enough to go with the dish. I will definitely be back. It's a small restaurant that is better for takeout. They have a minimum of $10 purchase for credit card if I remember correctly. Also, I got a ton of chicken in my curry. Bawarchi at east windsor is by far my favorite for authentic biryani. Great staff who cares a lot for their customers. I wanted them to add more fried onions, softer pieces and the owner happily customised my fav chicken biryani and did not charge an extra dime.So appreciate the effort. The food was delicious and i loved the flavor. I wouldn't recommend eating in because they didn't seem to know what to do. So there was a lot of awkward waiting. We were told to sit but no one brought us menus. When we ordered it they brought two entrees out of three and left. There were five employees just loitering about behind the counter and I began to fear they forgot the third entree entirely. After ten minutes we got the third entree and it was worth the wait- there was so much food! Biryani for days. I got the paneer biryani but there wasn't too much paneer, that was a bummer honestly. I have tried the gobi Manchurian, paneer tikka masala , egg curries , bengal salan, noodles and biryanis which are very tasty. I have tried Manchurians at many diff places but the manchurian over here gives me feeling of india which just hits the spot. Also bengan salan I have never seen it on the menu anywhere so wasn't sure if I wanted to try it but I gave it a try and my family and I loved it. Food is very flavorful and different in a good way. If you go to this place for Biryani, consider getting takeout because the service is atrocious. We went in for lunch. The same individual acts as host, server, busser and person who takes the order on the phone as well as in the restaurant which slows the whole process down. We were seated at a table that looked to be in the middle of a hallway. Don't expect much in terms of ambience from this place as it is very barebones. The host/server provided us one menu to share between the two of us which was odd but we dealt with it as we knew what we wanted going in and were going to share the appetizer and entree. We ordered the chicken lollipop, boneless chicken biryani and a mango lassi. We waited for nearly 25 minutes and did not even have glasses of water provided to us. Finally our Biryani came out first, which was also odd as we had ordered an appetizer and a drink. They served the Biryani with no plates. We had to go to the counter and request for plates.Terrible! The Biryani thankfully was great. It was spiced well and the chicken tasted good similar to chicken 65. Halfway through eating the Biryani, the server realized that he forgot to serve us the water and the mango lassi we ordered and came round with it. The mango lassi came premade in plastic cup (the kind you use for take out) which means all the server needed to do was just bring it around but he was completely negligent of us. Finally the appetizers of the chicken lollipop came and we ended our meal on a dish that should have been brought out first. The chicken lollipops did not come with a dipping sauce and some of them had completely raw dough on the inside while the others were over cooked. Please avoid this dish as they are inconsistent. Overall this was a very disappointing experience. If we are in the area, we would try out other places or get takeout for the Biryani with enough time advanced notice. read more
