I'm a fan of the hot stuff. Not to the point where taste buds are cauterized, there still needs to be FLAVOR! And Bawarchi does this very well. I've eaten here about 10 times, and I have yet to get something that makes me say "Nahhhhhh, that's not right". My only beef (which is probably not the best choice of words for an Indian restaurant) is that the butcher occasionally grazes the bone, and I get a fragment in my Chicken 999. The site is fine, but a review of the premises is moot during COVIDaclypse. Pick it up or get a NOCO Nosh/Uber/good friend to pick it up. Really large portions as well. read more

Went and ate on their patio a few days ago and the service is great and friendly. They're doing Covid precautions right which is cool. They're even giving everyone bottled water. Best Indian food in Fort Collins. Hands. Down. My wife and I had dinner last night. The restaurant is bright and cheery, the staff are very hospitable and friendly. The food, which is the point, is terrific. Curries come mild/medium/spicy. My wife's Chicken Tikka Masala was ordered medium, came out creamy, tangy, well-seasoned, and just spicy enough for her. We got two orders of garlic naan and I'm glad we did. The naan is charred expertly, with flaky, rich layers, and a good garlicky topping. I got lamb vindaloo. Interestingly, goat is much more prevalent on the menu than lamb, so check this place out if you're into that. I ordered it spicy and it was (thankfully!) Made my mouth water and my nose run. Portions are very generous. They have 4 local beers on tap and a few imported Indian lagers in bottles. They have some lunch specials that I'm eager to return and try. I'll also note the menu is much more diverse than a typical American Indian joint. They have extensive South Indian offerings, like idly and dosas, as well as some chaat on the menu, and an Indo-Chinese section of the menu. Given the quality of the warhorses we ordered, I'm eager to come back and try the more unusual (for the states) parts of the menu next. This is the kind of high quality ethnic food that is not always easy to find in Fort Collins. Support this place! read more

I no longer need to travel to Denver for this TRY the dosa, biriyani OR meat gravy variety! The quantities are enormous for the briyani and it can be easily shared by two!! Stopped in after a symphony at the university. Samosas were great. Loved the Spice! The Nann was ok. We ordered the plain and it came out a little dry. But good enough. Tika masala we good. The shrimp with onion sauce was good as well. But my fam was divided over it. They were slammed and forgot a couple small things, it was an honest mistake. We ordered three different entrees tonight, all of them delicious. The rice was very good, as were the four sauces that accommodated the order. Really liked the dosa. The goat curry was sufficiently spicy, but the chicken tikka masala was mild as specified. My major gripe is that not a single item in the takeout order delivered by GrubHub was labeled. Now, I've ordered Indian food before, so I was able to figure it out. But, really, put out a little effort to label your takeout orders! Went here for a date and tried out the tandoori chicken and dal tadka, along with garlic naan and mango lassi for both. The servers were fast and efficient, although I asked for naan and she brought me rice with my dish. The dal tadka we asked for mild, it had just a bit of heat to it, the garlic naan was good as well. The tandoori had a great amount of flavor. The mango lassi came in a little to-go cup and was a delicious end to the meal. We ended up taking a bit of the dal tadka home. read more

Menu TOO BIG! Just get the lunch combo. It's the (o )(o ) You get a small chicken or goat biryani rice bowl (better than the full bowl which is just more rice), some currys, Indian bread and dessert (seems to change). Good food in Foco is one of the hardest things to find, especially ethnic food. This is by far the best Indian restaurant in town! I will say there are better places in Denver however this will give any restaurant a run for their money. Since moving back to Foco this has been my goto place anytime I get a cheat meal. The food taste as authentic as you will get in the States, and the cherry on top is unlike other places when you order "extra spicy" the food is actually spicy!! Crazy concept right?? I moved to Fort Collins for a Temporary position right as everything shutdown for COVID-19. After a long hike I was really wanting indian. I ordered my saag paneer and naan through yelp/grubhub. This was a smooth experience. My food was completed early and my pickup was quick, clean, and friendly. What was even better was how great the food was. I typically like a very spicy saag, but the flavor was spot on. I have to say the naan was fluffy and light. I was afraid being packaged up it would have been soggy and greasy. While this place does have excellent Gulab Jamun Rose dessert, the food was awful. It's as if the cooks just have a pocket full of spice and throw it into the sauce. I feel like it was definitely missing some spices though, on the bland side. Naan was good. Samosas were good. Green chutney was too runny though it had decent flavors. We had lunch at this place while on a road trip. We were a family of 5 traveling so we ordered a bunch of things. Everything was pretty good and as Indian as it could be. Food wasn't very spicy but had the Indian spice touch that I find missing in so many Indian restaurants that have tempered down on the spices. We had biryani, ghee dosa, masala dosa, thali, tomato soup, idlis, chili idli. My favorites were the ghee dosa, biryani, masala dosa. Our family really enjoys Bawarchi. We've always liked Indian food, but rarely could find South Indian fare in Colorado. This joint fits the bill! The dhosas are great, and the Spring Dosa is our go-to meal here. They come with three sauces/chutnies and a small bowl of sambar. All are delicious and add quite a bit of flavor to the dosas. We're also quite partial to the Chili Paper Corn - my gosh it's delicious and spicy! The Gobi Manchurian is also quite tasty. We also enjoy the Uthappam. In short, we haven't had anything here we haven't liked and visit often. read more

I work close to this place, and I love Indian food - what could be better?! I'm not super well versed in Indian cuisine, so I don't know the differences between biriyanis and kormas, dosas, and naans (but I'm learning!). I'm also the whitest white woman you can find. I've been here a few times, and generally I'm a fan. The biryanis are really big, so be warned. You could safely split one across two people. The food is really good--and generally really fast! The servers are knowledgable, and can share what they're out of, or even so far as to say "I think we ran out, but I know we just got another delivery, so let me see what we can do!" My only complaint is that they occasionally forget a dish. We were still waiting on my entree well after everything else had been delivered to the table, and I had to flag down our waitress. Legit the saddest moment of my life is not trying Indian food until my 30's. This place is incredible. The andhra chicken curry is literal perfection. So complex. So spicy. The only South Indian restaurant in the NoCo (that I know of!) I have not been to India, so can't truly vouch for the "authenticity." However, a dear friend of mine is South Indian, and I ate a lot of Indian food in her kitchen and at many restaurants in NYC. Compared to those experiences, and especially compared to other Indian restaurants in the area, Barwachi does a solid job. Dosas are delicious, with the crepe being a little thicker than I'm used to. They had sold out of the bone-in biryanis that I was hoping to try (bone-in goat is usually a good sign). The chicken biryani we got was great, but could have used more meat. The heat level is no joke. It starts at 5 ("You can't make proper food without the spice," our server explained"), so that "mild" carries a powerful kick. I'm so stoked to have this place in town - definitely a much-needed addition to the saturated pizza/burger/American Mexican/"New American" food scene. read more

Bawarchi is hands down the best Indian food available in Fort Collins. They're the only place in town offering South Indian selections. We personally love their Hyderabadi Chicken Dumb Biryani. They can actually make it as spicy as we want. We also like their Aloo Gobi and Chana Masala. I wish they would serve some black tadka daal though. Their rasmalai or mango lassi is an excellent end to a great meal! We really like that their lassi isn't too sweet and artificial tasting. We had this delivered before, but this time it is terrible. $100 and it came in a wet, busted bag and the driver left a few solo containers on the deck. The quality has changed. Tandoori chicken is super dry. The rest is super generic, the saag smelled rotten, the vindaloo was spicy with no flavor, the Naan was mushy with raw dough and no good. Very disappointing. I get that they have good food but this place has absolutely no respect to customers and I can assure you that their ethnicity does not stop them from being racist. As I am waiting to order a pick up, the lady at the desk gladly greeted other customers with smiles and welcoming gestures. When my turn came up all of a sudden her mood changed as if I had done something wrong to her she doesn't stop there she continues to mock my name with a smirk repeatedly asking me to spell it after I told her she can just copy it from my credit card. She continues to ask me about my order over and over With the same smirky attitude. I honestly have no idea what I had done to her or anyone at that place, i can come to the conclusion that she was somehow mocking me and my accent or perhaps she just doesn't like "my kind". I don't usually come to such conclusion as I have never faced racism in my life or in the states. I just hope that to anyone reading keep in mind that if it happens to you it also happened to someone else.
