My experience: Pros: I found this café online when searching for brunch spots. The café is nice looking, and clean, and the staff is friendly. The Good: I ordered the oatmeal, I asked if it was pre-made or made to order. The waitress didn't know, so I stated if it's made to order I'll take a bowl, and tell them not to overcook it. I explained, that would get me started. 5 minutes or so later, the waitress returned and asked if "you'd like anything else"? I then ordered the Crabcake Benedict, eggs scrambled and the waitress stated "your oatmeal will be right out". The Bad: The oatmeal and Crabcake Benedict came out together. This began my frustration. I explained to the server, this was separated in order to prevent this. After all, who wants to eat the oatmeal and have the eggs get cold? Her reply, "can I get you anything else"? I answered, no, thank you. After tasting the oatmeal, it was indeed overcooked and bland despite it being made-to-order. I flagged down a wait staff member and asked for the manager who was apologetic about the food coming out together despite the time delay in ordering. I also rejected the oatmeal, and my waitress upon providing my bill as asked mentioned thr manager removed the oatmeal from the bill. The Crabcake Benedict was prepared properly, however it was not a better crab cake. It was more cake than anything else with only the most faint taste of crab, maybe. The hollandaise sauce and indeed the eggs had no flavor to speak of. Why 3 Stars: I abhor rating any establishment less than 3 stars based on a single visit (this was my 1st visit) unless something goes horribly wrong. You could do much better with cafés such as a first Watch or Keke's, in my opinion. I haven't even eaten my food yet and I LOVE this place. I have never been to a restaurant, well at least in the last 25 years, that has had such courteous and helpful staff. Eggs. Potatoes, bacon, cheese YUM! It was really good and I'm an expert on breakfast tacos. The Mr. got the ribeye steak omelet. I thought "uh oh"- steak at a French cafe? I was worried. Y'all, he rarely comments in food. I literally have to dig it out of him. He ate the omelet and said "That was Delicious!". Needless to say, I was shocked. You don't expect a little cafe to have excellent steak. He said the omelet was perfectly cooked. Wow! Now I have the topper. We pulled up to the restaurant with his mom and she decided we needed to take it home! Ugh! But take it home we did and it was as described. I couldn't believe it. So pick up or eat in, this place is THE place to go for breakfast, brunch or lunch. It's in a growing area (Viridian) in far North Arlington. I live in southwest Arlington and that will not keep this from being one of my regulars. This place was very very cute, it was my first step in Dallas and my partner and I came here for a brunch date. The staff were very lovely and our server was really nice.. the food on the other hand, had me confused. I got the Benedict that had steak and Yucca fries but for some reason, it was cold as in almost room temperature and the steak was way too rare though I'd asked for a medium or medium well. I asked for it to be reheated and when it came back, it looks so much uglier than before, but it was somehow still cold. At that point, my appetite was kind of gone and I felt bad having to send it back so we just paid for it anyway. My partner liked his omelette. Sunday September 2023 11:20-30ish arrival time. Busy- every table was full except 2 tables at the front. No reservations, as reservations couldn't be made. Cons: wait time, one bathroom stall, no paper in the bathroom, but the automatic hand dryer (unsanitary), pricing for the quality is a touch high. It is affordable, though- I'm speaking for the quality. Pros: aesthetically pleasing, parking is ample. Meats were good. The host quoted us 15 min. You give your cell number to them, and they txt you when your table is ready. We opted to wait in the car, but received a notification 5 minutes later that the table was ready. We waited 5-8 minutes for our server, Tiffany, to come by and tell us she'd be with us shortly. The Menu is decently priced. Not too expensive. Mid-priced. Some may think on the higher end for some items. One breakfast item I recall being $20ish. Check menu picks attached. Ordered: Meaty breakfast bowl $16 and lemonade ($3) & Classic breakfast combo $16 (uncharged $4 for "sweet waffles") = $20 and a peach Bellini ($8) I set the timer because I had read service was slow. They opened April 22, 2023, so they're less than 1/2 a year established. Someone behind us got their food before us, but they sat down and ordered maybe 10 min after us. So that was odd.... I asked the eta of our food and got the standard waitress reply that it would be right out. Later, the Waitress comes to our table at 12:16 (after 30 min of waiting) and she says that she's sorry, "but that the food didn't submit." She awkwardly brings out another lemonade to my friend, but as seen in the pictures attached, my friend had barely put a dent in her first lemonade. 8 min 40 seconds is how long it took for the food to come out after that. Bacon- a little salty but 4/5 Sausage- a little salty but 3.8/5 Eggs- 2/5 needed seasoning. I even added cheese. Waffles- 2/5 would not re-order. They were cold to touch. as if the kitchen cooked then first, and then cooked the meat. The "sweet" part of the waffle was cinnamon sugar sprinkling, and an icing drizzle. Not worth the upcharge of $4. I am, however, comparing them to Kitchen + kocktail's same entree, which is AMAZING. Meaty bowl was a 5/10. She did not finish it. Potatoes were good. That's the pro. $51.69 for an experience I wish I could take back. I *may* give it another try. But I'm in no rush, and I doubt within the next year I would return. The sister restaurant is just as average. If the restaurant would've accommodated in SOME kind of way beyond "I apologize" I probably would've tried to come back sooner. Time= money. When it arrived, 3 of the 6 dishes were cold - butter spread on pancakes, French toast, etc. just sat there and didn't even begin to melt. They offered to re-do those three, which just added an additional 10 minutes to the total time spent waiting. Quality of the food was fine, but nothing special from any other brunch place. Given the other reviews that have complained of cold food or long wait times, it would seem like our sub-par experience is not a one-off. Will not be back. Ambiance: This place is cute. It's a good breakfast/brunch with friends or family. We came on a busy Sunday though. We came around 10:45am and there was a 25-30 minute wait. The waitlist system is putting your name and phone number. It will text you a link to check the status of the waitlist. I personally like it so I can check on the status without having to go ask. There's a coffee shop a few shops down. We just grab a coffee over there as we waited. The parking out has a good amount of parking spots. The restaurant is at the corner of the shopping strip so it's surrounded by parking spots. Food: We got the omelet and crab cake benedict with hash brown and sweet potato fries on the side. The omelet was a little dry. The crab cake Benedict was good. I like the texture though it could be a little more crispy. The amount of sweet potato fries was underwhelming. I thought we would have gotten more. Service: Our service was ok. Our server was nice and polite. He apologized for the wait and let us know they are pack. As my husband is a breakfast aficionado we stumbled upon this spot running errands in Arlington. We decided to give this place a shot based on the photos and I definitely hit the spot. We are both fond of Benedict's so we were pleased that there were plenty of options for us to choose from.
