Well it's been several days now, and nobody has called, and obviously no one is going to bother calling. Probably he threw my number in the garbage. The guy i spoke to was also sort of unpleasant. It was his tone. He told me if the bars are going on bedroom windows you need quick release per the codes. I told him they're going in the living room. He said in some cities you even need quick release for the living room. Hey that's my problem. You just sell me what i'm asking for, and let me worry about the codes. If there's a fire in front, you just go out the back door. Sounds like he's trying to talk me out of buying anything. I am done with them. I found my bars elsewhere and they're fine, and cost less than their prices anyway. Can't be bothered to call the customer, OK, that's your loss buddy.

I had them replace an older Aiphone intercom with Unifi access and they came and installed a Unifi door reader, cleaned up my door strikes, installed a unifi in wall in a rental unit so we could pass through an additional POE port to a Unifi intercom and then came up with an idea to consolidate my networking gear in my garage so I changed scope after day 1 to include that and also setup a gate hub automation. I also had them do a new cat6 run and they did a great job with that as well as patching up the holes from older cables. Great communication - they know their networking and Unifi gear and I would recommend to others looking for ethernet/wireless/security cameras and expertise with Unifi gear.

They returned the very next day, finished everything, and did an excellent job. On the first visit, the technician, Mohammed, didn't even inspect the system. He simply told us that older units are noisy and that our only options were to live with it or replace the entire system. Because the problem continued, our home warranty company scheduled a second visit. I specifically requested a different technician, but they sent the same person back. I tried calling their supervisor to come out or send someone else but they kept dodging my call. When I answered the door and explained the issue was still happening, he just shrugged his shoulders. I had to insist that he actually go into the attic and inspect the unit this time. After a short time, he came back down and said he had "tried everything" but never explained what he checked or what the actual problem was. Again, I was told the only options were to replace the system or live with the noise. I also never received any written work order explaining the diagnosis or repairs that were supposedly attempted. Not feeling confident, I hired another HVAC company for a second opinion. Within minutes, they diagnosed the real problem as a failing blower motor, explained everything clearly, and gave me the option to replace the motor instead of the entire HVAC system. The repair was completed that same week, and the vibration was completely resolved. I understand a 21-year-old system won't last forever, but every homeowner deserves a thorough inspection, a clear explanation of the issue, and repair options when they're available. Unfortunately, that wasn't the experience I had with Same Day Air.

John came to my house, on time, measured the window and as promised 2 weeks later came to install it--on time again. He even included a bar that I could use to prevent it from opening free of charge. The screen material itself is much tougher than the typical screen giving me peace of mind. I learned a lot about screens from him and his price was very reasonable. We are very particular on customer services that if provided with excellence and professionalism among other things then you have us a loyal customers. With Bay Alarm, we got the services we needed with no hassles. We scouted for vendors first, ADT who made us wait for someone to call us to set up an appointment. Took them 3 days to call and we had already cancelled that call back because we think we waited long enough and that's only for a call appointment. Nobody really reached out with sense of care or urgency. It was basically a routine and we don't really like that. We called Johnny Haddadin, being with Bay Alarm and that we are connected. In one full day, we got our transactions done with an appointment to set up alarms. I believe that service was done with care and attentiveness to our immediate needs. Johnny even referred us to an area rep who can provide even more attentive services. They both were team players who met our expectations and we are very satisfied: with our set up, with the person who set up our alarms, with the online services, with the follow ups from both Johnny and the reps (who still does that, you know. Like once they get your business, you're done, you don't hear from anyone, right?) and their immediate availability when called upon (email or phone call they answer without having to wait a day or two, we definitely like that). I am sorry to read some who have unfortunate experiences. We did have a false alarm, a police showed up but wasn't charged for however the alarm was set off. Overall, we are certainly very happy to know someone at Bay Alarm because we know they care for your safety, your needs and not just your business. Stay away. There are plenty of alternatives on the market now, do your home work. I've been a customer for 20 years and have had problems over the years but NOTHING like the last few weeks. My phone line dropped for some reason, I live in a canyon and it was probably chewed on by one of the animals I share the property with. Bay Alarm called and said there was a problem and they would send someone out. The tech came out and confirmed it was the line and since I have converted everything in my home to VoIP I asked if they could update the system so I didn't have to do business with AT&T any longer and they said sure call sales. I called sales, two weeks later after hearing NOTHING I called again. This time it only took three days for someone to get back to me. They came out and scheduled an appointment. Lonnie came out and did a very good job of converting my system over and left after 6 hours. Then problems started to arise. I called again and made an appointment for Monday morning. The tech called and said he would be out to fix the problems. NO ONE CAME OUT and the problems started to get worse. I figured that someone would come out on Monday and I could limp through over the weekend. Monday rolled around and NO tech, The appointment had been cancelled by one of the managers without talking to me. I was furious and called the director and was assured that someone would be out to fix the problem. I now just got a call that someone will be out Tuesday morning. Let me recap: I had a problem and was told to call sales, NO ONE CALLED ME UNTIL I CALLED A SECOND TIME. The new system was installed with problems. I make an appointment to have them fixed and THE APPOINTMENT IS CANCELLED BY ONE OF THE MANAGERS WITHOUT LETTING ME KNOW. read more

Horrible Customer service ever!!! This happened months ago but I am still so mad now that I need to speak up for what happened to me. I called to schedule a time to meet a sale representative at my house because my house just got broke in the day before and need to install an alarm system right away. I made an appointment to meet her the day after at 3pm. The sale representative, Jan, called me the day of, at around 10am to ask me if I can move my appointment earlier to 12pm because she just got off her class or something and she doesn't want to wait. I told her I can't because 3pm is already the earliest I can do. Since my house just got broke in and my purse got stolen, there are a lot of things I need to take care of (going to bank...etc) I was a little late because of this. She called me at 3pm and asked me where I was and that she is already outside the house. I told her I got a little bit delayed and I am almost there. She told me she can't wait and hanged up on me. I called her right away and told her that I just need 5 more minutes. She sounded very impatient and said "ok. 5 minutes" and then hanged me up AGAIN. I ended up getting there 10 minutes late and she is already gone. I mean, I know I shouldn't be late. But I wasn't awfully super late. It was just 10 minutes. I understand that if she had other important appointments that she can't miss but I would really appreciate if she can have a better attitude. She could have told me that she had to go and made another appointment with me, I would be fine with it. She just hanged up on me twice without offering any futher assistance. Well, after years of service with this company truly showed who they are. WARNING. They take no responsibility when an issue happens and simply refer to a contract and claim they are not responsible. If a panic alarm goes off at 1am 4 hours after a closing signal, then the police are sent, they never notify the owners of the incident. It happened again at 3am. This happened twice on the same night and also other days. We never knew. Months later we receive a bill for $1200 for false alarm charges due to a faulty panic button going off when no one was in the store. Twice in one night, days after it randomly would go off and no one questions why so many panic alarms after hours. Panic Switch gets fixed but they refuse to pay for an issue their equipment failed and blame us for the bad equipment. Be very careful dealing with this company when things go bad. While they may be great in notifying on non panic issues, they fail to realize when an issue may exist and look into it further. Nathan believes that their company did nothing wrong and the fault falls on the customers responsibility. You all have been warned to be careful when signing the dotted line contract. Keep in mind our contract was with Perma Guard and they acquired the accounts. May want to look at your contracts and be aware of the language the puts all panic alarm calls on you! Truly the worst customer service call I have experienced and we will have no choice but to take them to small claims court. read more

My wife and I changed servicing for our wired alarm system to Bay Alarm Company a couple of years ago. The transition went smoothly and servicing has been excellent. Subsequently, we had Bay Alarm Company replace the wired system with a wireless system, after we had retrofit windows installed. We found Bay Alarm Company flexible in working with us and reasonable in price. Finally, the contact installed on our family room door ceased to function and Bay Alarm Company promptly replaced it. Although the door was dry, the technician noted that there was probably a leak (this door exits to our patio). Bay Alarm advised us to contact the door installer, which we did. His analysis indicates the leak comes from the roof, which we have not repaired yet. During this time another heavy rain (just before Christmas) caused another leak on the alarm contact on this door. We asked Bay Alarm to find a way to maintain security on the door, while we searched for the source of the leak. Their representative came and re-positioned the contact. We continue to have security and the leak cannot affect the new position of the contact. Bay Alarm Company has been quite reasonable in their pricing at all times. Their service technicians are well trained, polite and efficient. We have dealt with one of their service technicians named Phu on several occasions. I strongly advise against choosing Bay Alarm for your security system needs. My experience with them was extremely disappointing and frustrating. The sales representatives are primarily commission-driven and will often mislead you just to close a deal. You will most likely be sold an alarm system that is completely incompatible with your property. Once the contract is signed, the issues only escalate. The supervisor, Nina Johnson, and her field coordination team will began relentlessly contacting you--calling and emailing daily until you respond. Your contract may not even be signed yet and her team will still harass you to get you on their schedule board. Their scheduling process is chaotic, often sending out one technician to begin installation and a different one to complete it. This lack of consistency makes the whole experience feel disorganized and unprofessional. The technicians themselves often show up smelling like cigarettes and lacking basic grooming. While some are courteous, it is clear that training and quality control are not their priorities. If you're on a tight budget and are willing to deal with the stress for a lower price, you might find a deal with Bay Alarm--mainly because they seem desperate to get people locked into contracts. But be warned: the hassle and lack of transparency may not be worth the savings. If you do move forward with Bay Alarm, I sincerely wish you the best of luck--you may need it. read more

My mother recently had some trouble in the neighborhood. Now living away from the Bay Area I did not feel comfortable knowing that she might be in danger living on her own. Although my neighborhood is not extremely dangerous there is always passer-bys. I called Bay Alarms to get a rough estimate of what things would be like. I was referred to Paul Perez and he was very professional and understanding of our situation. He came out the next day to inspect the house and give us a rough estimate. I was not present for the inspection but my mother was very pleased with what he offered us. He set us up with a good package with sensors on both front and back doors along with some windows. The installation was a few days after and was a breeze. Paul was able to give us a great rate that was in our budget. I am very pleased with the service that Bay Alarm offers. Paul told us to even check other security system providers to make sure that we were going to be happy with Bay Alarm. My wife grew up in Oakland and her family has always trusted in Bay Alarm Security Systems. When we bought a house over in Oakland, our real estate agent even recommended Andrew Nosanchuk with Bay Alarm. After speaking with Andrew who was very polite, he timely scheduled an appointment to stop by our house and meet with us to discuss our home and how we would like it protected. He did a wonderful job taking notes, listening to any questions and providing answers that helped us make decisions on the systems setup. Following the initial meeting with Andrew, we had Willie and John scheduled to come to the house and install. I have to tell you, first of all they were very professional and full of many years of experience with Bay Alarm, which helps to provide clients with a full understanding of their security system and how it works. Tho unsuccessful because my deadbolt was engaged, it was enough of a wake up call for me to finally get an alarm system. Bay Alarm came highly recommended by the locksmith who installed a latch protector on my front door. Sales Rep, Gerard Dell assisted me in choosing the type of system most appropriate for my property. The alarm installation was just completed today by Technician, Amador. Both Gerard and Amador were professional and very patient - both alerting me to their ETA, before our scheduled appointment time, they both made good suggestions as to where the control panel should go as I didn't want any wires showing and didn't want to open up any of my newly painted walls. Not having ever owned an alarm system before, they were very patient in answering all of my questions and walked me through the entire process of setting up remote access via my phone and laptop. Like Nancy W (review of 5/17), I have been a customer of Bay Alarm for many years, and 3 homes. I have always been pleased with the professionalism of the installers, their willingness to work until the job is complete without extra cost, and their careful workmanship. We are doing a complete remodel now. I have been working with Johnny Haddadadin for estimating and system design. It has been a very good experience. Johnny has explained everything carefully and patiently, offered cost saving alternatives, worked to solve location problems, and given me some very polite reminders when I have not followed up on something. One phase of our project has been installed by Prince who, similarly, was prompt and efficient. He reviewed all conditions with me, and discussed and resolved installation challenges. Johnny has assured me that he will arrange for Prince to return for the next phase of work, assuring continuity. I have had difficulties with some other contractors (may the dogs of H*** forever chase Comcast), but my experience with Bay Alarm and its personnel has brought me peace of mind. read more

My experience with choosing an alarm company is a lesson in taking extreme care when making this choice. After seven years of dealing with three local alarm companies I learned my lesson. The failings of these alarm companies ranged from periods of unmonitored service to well- nigh zero attention to complaints.The first company acknowledged and made amends after months of delay. The second company, which had bought the first company, never monitored me at all. Finally, a third company took over and started its service this month without monitoring. My experience with Bay Alarm over the last week has been exceptional! It started out with their sales rep, Patty Landers. She explained the various options and plans in a clear and concise manner. She wasn't just "going through the motions". I really felt that she had my family's best interest at heart. You can't ask for anything more than that. After that, we get to the installation. Josh Foster and Ruben Cervantes are a cut above. First off, they were on time...always a good start! Then we walked around the house and they described exactly what they were going to do. Then they got to work, and they worked, and worked, and worked. Then they took lunch. Then they got back to work, and they worked, and worked, and worked. After that, it was time for my "tutorial" on how everything operated. Josh was as upbeat and positive at 5:30 pm as he was at 8:30 am. We just installed an alarm system at our home in the Oakland Hills. Our experience with Bay Alarm could not have been any better. The sales representative (Rafael A.) was punctual and professional, explaining the various equipment and service options thoroughly. The other vendor we considered provides our internet and cable to our home. Their representative was a third party contractor only interested in selling and installing right on the spot with tons of up-charges and extra fees. Rafael followed up quickly with a written proposal and lowered the original installation price to secure my business. Bay Alarm did the install three days later on a Saturday as we were leaving on vacation that Sunday. Great service! The installation technician (Gloyds A.) was excellent. He was very thorough in ensuring the equipment was installed properly with the least impact on our home. His friendly attitude was appreciated and the training we received on the system was very good, including our mobile devices. I recently had Bay Alarm upgrade my home security system. The level of service I received exceeded my expectations. They were great to deal with from Gerrard Dell my Sales Representative to James Duo my Installation Technician. I met with Gerrard twice before I decided to go with Bay Alarm. I had many questions about options available and Gerrard answered all of them. He was very knowledgable about the various options and the basic system operation. The staff at Bay Alarm are terrific!! The salesman, Andrew Nosanchuk, was very knowledgeable in the company's products and services. He was extremely patient with my many questions and concerns and explained all the pro's and con's in understandable language. He was very honest in his suggestions which I truly appreciate. I never felt like he was just selling the company's products and services. He made certain that the package I purchased was the correct one for my particular situation. He was a gentleman and very aware of my white carpets and took great care to not upset my sometimes ocd tendencies. The installers, Edgar Luna and Mike Wu, were excellent!! They were quick, clean, neat and explained all the various details in a manner that made sense to me, a non-tech person. I have a small business that needed a security system at a new location. We chose Bay Alarm because they did a great job on out first storefront as well as my home. This time around I had the pleasure of working with Hamid Ahrari. He is a Commercial Sales Rep and what I consider a true Professional. He listened to what it was we wanted and helped us achieve it. He also advised us on how we could actually save some money by doing a few things different. This I appreciated. He wasn't there to sell me on any upgrades but to make sure we were getting what we want and ultimately feeling safe and secure. Kudos to my friends at Bay Alarm Oakland. After a thorough, professional interview by my commercial sales rep Hamid Ahrari and a fairly short wait for service installation, I was taken care of by a very patient and thorough tech by the name of Tam Vo, who was able to make adjustments to the original setup after seeing the layout, and save me some money while actually increasing the coverage. All in all, the installation was seamless, thorough, and maybe the neatest I've seen in a commercial installation of the sort. My office is high end, posh, and full of very delicate items that would cost a fortune to replace. We finally got around to installing an alarm system (after being broken into, of course) and chose Bay Alarm because we'd seen their signs around the neighborhood. The new wireless system made installation easy, and we loved the patrol service in the neighborhood. They also provide escort service, if needed, and will check up on suspicious activity that you report. And, they'll do a daily property walk when you're on vacation. The system took several hours to install, and our tech, Amador Palomares, was very friendly and informative. He walked through the house and discussed what was being installed and where. We made some changes from our initial order, based on his recommendations. He then walked us through how to program the panel and gave us his card, and said to call with any questions. We did. Several times, and he answered immediately and took the time to make sure we understood the "alarm for dummies" instructions. read more

We knew we had found the right security system company as soon as Bay Alarm salesman Andrew arrived. He was low key, friendly and put no pressure on us. Yes, we have had crime in our area and needed a system, but several other company's sales reps had scared, confused and pressured us to the point of not wanting to move forward. Andrew was great at figuring out a configuration of sensors that relieved us of our concerns and offered it to us at a reasonable cost. He also offered to have it installed fairly quickly because we were about to leave on vacation. He bent over backwards to make us happy. On the day of the installation, he arrived to introduce us to Alex the technician, and once again we were reassured. Alex spent several hours with us explaining everything and showed great patience in testing the system to show us how to arm and disarm it. Sales & marketing get 5 stars! Customer Support, technical support and any type of post sales get 0 stars. Pretty much don't sign the contract that locks you in with them! Depending on who you talk to in customer support you get different answers about your system. My system has gone off a number of times by mistake with no calls from Bay Alarm. When I called to ask why they never called, they said the alarm was never tripped. My total connect software that is connected to the alarm sent me messages and registered the alarm correctly but the Bay Alarm "monitoring-center", which seems to have been asleep for the past month, never received it. They tried to blame my internet connection and phone line... blah blah blah I am canceling even though I have to pay almost $400 to get out of my contract and moving to another provider that will actually monitor my system. I'm lucky nothing got stolen while I was with them! read more

He has an office manager and we could communicate via text to Valery, phone to the office or email. Timing was a bit complex because another contractor was installing paving where the spa was to go. And we had a third crew digging the trenching for the electrical line in the evening after the yard was dug up and before pavers were laid. Valery and his office manager coordinated and made themselves available when we needed them. He also stopped by after hours to make sure the digging guys knew exactly where to dig. I think, all told, Valery must have come over five times to check on the project. He also made a trip to the spa store to make sure he understood how to hook up our particular spa. I can't imagine that any other electrician would spend so much time and attention on our job outside of his actual electrical work. Despite the extra trips, he held firm on his original price. And he's such a nice guy!
