**Public Service announcement** American Home shield insurance and their subcontractor MS Services INC. DBA Same day HVAC services, paid one visit to my home to fix my furnace, which he described as plugging in the unit and turning on the gas, which was confirmed by the tech I haired that no one opened the unit to trouble shoot anything. On multiple occasions the technician called me stating "you just want a new furnace right"? I told him well yes if my current furnace could not be fixed. He then asked my wife the same thing before ever even looking at the furnace. Once he looked at the furnace he said he would fix it temporarily but get me the quote for the new unit. I was originally told $5246 then when I called the company the owner/GM told me oh you wanted us to run it through your insurance? Well I'll let them know we went out twice so they understand it needs replacement. I was confused at first so I was finally able to get a hold of a friend to come look at it that does HVAC and he said this unit is very clean internally and it's a capacitor and a small clog in the vacuum pump. It ended up being a $250 fix and told me I shouldn't have an issue with it for 5-7 yrs. I then receive an amended quote letting me know the replacement would be $3700. I have of course canceled them and requested a refund. If you are in the market stay clear of this company and their sub contractor. MS Services INC. DBA Same day air conditioning. read more

Absolutely disastruous!! I I had an appointment confirmed for the same day at 4pm to dignose why my AC system stopped working (out of my own pocket) since I got tired of the home warranty not fixing my issue, and the minute they saw I had a service request opened with home warranty, the supervisor got involved and started yelling at me treating me like I was dumb, REFUSED to come in the same day, and REFUSED to service me in any way. When I asked why the sudden change in customer service, that I was willing to pay out of pocket, and asked why they put me in the back of the line, the entire interaction changed. Very unprofessional and inconsiderate. I do not recommend this place to anyone. Customer service zero. Update: Thank you Sam. Sadly the failure to check the actual furnace itself (which another vendor has done) results in me needing a new furnace. While I appreciated the service and attitude of the technician, it may have saved me weeks of frustration. Basically, I called at 10:30 AM and they provided a same-day service appointment. Andre arrived and fixed our AC problem by 4PM today - less than 6 hours after I called for an appointment. That is outstanding service! Here are the details. After I submitted a service request this morning, I got a call back confirming my same-day appointment. Same Day Air Conditioning and Heating and MS Service are same company. MS Service does home warranty for AHS but they share same staff. Just the phone numbers are different. There is no way to write a review for MS Service so I am writing it here because the owner is same. I have heard good things when you call Same Day directly because they deal with customers directly and can charge a higher price. The home warranty gives them a negotiated price and you get what you paid for, a very bad and unfriendly service. You just regret ever having them touch your equipment because their only objective is to harrass the client, take advantage of them and make as much money as possible. They may leave the equipment in worse condition than it was before they touched it. Beware!!!!! I am tired of American Home Shield and MS Service. I may end up getting my own contractor to actually fix the problem. The issue is trivial but man I have gone through a nightmare of unnecessary fixes and changes. Keeping my fingers crossed that I dont have to make a big expense to undo what they did. Nov 27: Sam T (Owner's comments): Sam - It was impossible to reach out to the management team. Your appointment scheduler has limited capabilities and can only schedule appointment. Your dispatch supervisor is who I dealt with. After 6-7 visits, American Homeshield insisted I keep working with you but it was your dispatch supervisor who refused to make it right and said we will not service you. Then only American Home Sheild assigned a new vendor who is coming next week. Sam - I would like to share specifics of my horrific experience if you like and care. This was a 9 year old high energy efficient furnace that just needed rigorour condensation pipe cleaning and then fixing the pipe because it was not at an angle. That is all. You guys did an open heart surgery on my furnace and finally unclogged the pipe but never fixed the root cause which is the pipe is not at an angle. It also does not have a clean out Tee that can be added so it is easy to service condesation pipe. There was no need to change gas valve and pressure switch. There was no need for 6-7 trips. There was no need for you to say that you will not service me any more. There was just no need for all the drama. It was a $150 repair that make a nightmare and so much stress for me. I was always nice to your guys but they did not let me share my perspective. In the end all you did was fix a symptom and not the root cause and that also after 6-7 trips and 2 unnecessary parts replacement. I know that when condensation pipe clogs and the water backs up into the furnace, it can mimick electrical component failure but after lots of trial and error you finally got to really fixing the badly clogged pipe but it is not fixed for future. It will clog again soon. That is why I wanted you to come back but you refused to come back and really fix the final final problem for good. Happy to discuss more if you want. Dec 19: Update - The problem is finally fixed. American Home Shield assigned a new vendor. This vendor listened to me and just came in to add an incline to condensation pipe and also add a clean out Tee connection. Took him 15min because he had the parts because he asked me for description of the issue before arriving. Friendly and stuck to just doing this. He added warm water and white vinegar via clean out Tee. He did not have a cap for the clean out Tee. I had to do some trial and error to get the right cap and now the furnace works beautifully. Needed cleaning of pipe, add an angle and add a clean out tee. No unnecessary replacements that were done to justify and make money: (Pressure Switch and gas valve). Even the second vendor said he will probably have to say something like replaced broken capacitor to please home warranty company. The whole business of Home Warranty and these vendors is ridiculous and total sham. I will be cancelling Home Warranty and not renewing. I will also not be using MS Service or Same Day HVAC Service after such a bad experience. read more

We have been having 100 degree plus weather for days so getting the ac working again was a priority! The tech gave text updates and arrived at the beginning of the appointment window I was given. He was polite, professional and got right to work. He evaluated the ac unit and gave me a verbal estimate. On approval, he initiated repairs and refilled the Freon. This company works with American Home Shield home warranty company under a business name called MS Services (or this is their parent company). Don't fool yourselves by just looking at their rating on Yelp. The MS services has only half a star (yes, half a star) on almost all platforms. My experience: I think, to keep the home warranty company happy and get more business from them, they quoted low prices for expensive components like the condenser and evaporator coil, which should be covered by my home warranty. To offset/markup these losses from expensive components, I think they inflated the prices of cheaper items, like tube insulation, which aren't covered by AHS. I felt that this deceptive pricing strategy led to significantly higher out-of-pocket costs for me. Moreover, when their technician visited my home for an evaluation, he took apart the parts of my system and refused to reassemble them. He insisted there was no need since the system needed replacement, despite my request to put everything back together. This left my system inoperable. I strongly advise against using Same Day Air Conditioning or MS Services if you're working with AHS. Their pricing tactics and unprofessional conduct, driven by a desire to please AHS, resulted in a frustrating and costly experience for me. Seek alternatives to avoid similar issues. Originally we have tuneup from them and suggest we do furnace cleanup. Today they said it's with Duct and Vent cleanup so we do Duct and vent cleaning all together. but seems like not much difference for furnace after cleanup for vent and duct cleaning 2 items on my invoice but they didn't do at all item 1 - Protect furnishings and carpeting throughout the cleaning procedure. There's no protection on my furnishings. and no care at all. I'll need to repair floor myself. I've told the person floor is sensitive please be very careful. he agrees before start the job but while doing it. he dropped things heavily item 2 - Brush duct surfaces as well as use contact vacuum cleaning to remove all dust and particles After he left, i do see a lot of dust on my stuff without cleaning at all. I have to cleanup myself. i did complain these item and get some discount. One thing to remember, have the quote be written down so you both party has the evidence on how much the total would be. They came for the first time (which was offered in 8 days originally due to high demand thanks for heat wave, but after I asked for earlier service since we have new born, it is 84F outside and above, they found next day slot, for which I was happy and grateful for). Person called Sam came and said that filter needs to be changed, which we did. However, AC worked for some time and stopped again even after filter was replaced. We contacted the company again, Saher managed to come next day as well, did a very thorough check of all AC components. Now our AC is working well, we know how to take care of it. Thank you! This was a home warranty call. The warranty company (AHS) sent "Same Day" A/C & Heating out to fix it. One month later, they replaced my entire HVAC system. The two service technicians who installed my new system were prompt, polite, and friendly. I thought they did a good job. But now, three hours later, my a/c has been running nonstop since they left and the temperature inside my house is still the same as it was when they left: 89F. No change in temperature despite running the new a/c for three straight hours. That can't be right. Something isn't working. Two hours later: I tried calling the number that Sam left in his reply below and all I got was a message telling me to send them a text. I did. Twice. And still no reply. Nothing. The temperature in my house continues to climb even with the "new" a/c just installed this morning running full-blast for over 4 hours. It now stands at 91F. It was 89F when they left at noon. This is not how a/c is supposed to work. So far, Same Day A/C has failed miserably. read more

Our heater broke the day we returned from vacation (ofc on a Saturday evening). I called AHS and Same Day Air Conditioning & Heating was assigned as the contractor/responder. We got an appointment the following Monday, from 1 to 5 pm. Andre Kervis, the technician, showed up on time, performed the diagnosis and indicated a part needed to be replaced. To our dismay, that part was on back order, 3 weeks lead time. No real choice but to wait. A couple days went by and we received an update, a new vendor was located and the new part would arrive in 5 days instead of 3 weeks. The return appointment was booked for Tuesday, 1/23 from 9 am to 1 pm. Andre, once again showed up on-time with the new part, with a big smile. He was again professional, neat and completed the repair in under 1 hr. By 10 am this morning, the heater was working again. We can question whether having a home warranty such as AHS is a good value. However, the key is being assigned to a contractor like Same Day Air Conditioning and Heating then to have a technician like Andre Kervis show up at your house. We recently had our older HVAC system fail and be replaced by a new and updated version. Of course, it failed during a heat spell. Same Day Air Conditioning was the company selected by my home warranty company to do the work. They scheduled the work directly with us ... showed up on time and performed the work very well. When they completed the installation, they cleaned the entire work area and left things the way that I had hoped. These days it is difficult to find techs that work in equipment located inside a home with respect and understanding on how to behave properly. Which you are saying I need to work with my warranty and take care of !! Thats why I am saying its such a big concern which even after such clear detail, your team is not even willing to take a look !! And trying to justify now ! Follow up response to the comment - to clarify, everything was working fine before tune up. As per the invoice shared by your company - a loose wire was fixed in the thermostat. Why was this done ? May be that was not fixed properly which is why its showing an error now. First thing I did was to reach out to your company - you guys said I need to pay for someone to come and fix the wiring that was messed up in the tuneup Initial review- We had a Tuneup service and as part of tune up, they said there was a loose wire in upper level thermostat and they said it was fixed. But the system was working perfectly before and as soon as they left when we went to turn system on - It gave a error saying wiring issue - When we called them to come and fix it they said we need to pay again - THIS IS SUCH A SCAM !!
