The service department is terrible - we purchased our globetrotter from them - paid full price and were told we need to do service there to maintain our warranty. Three years of expensive, and poor service. The winter package for 1k is a 99 point service .however after pick up they missed several items including specific item requested to be repaired. It's not my first disappointing service. So frustrated -when you are ready to use after the winter and get out and find the. Heater vent requested to be repairs broken still, the fan doesn't work, stains on the floor from some guys big foot and the bathroom was dirty after they did the royal flush.. they forgot to wash the rig too. I could go on but all you need to know is don't expect much from the service department- I don't! Frustrated as hell... it's a 2.5 hour drive to the place from home so can't just "bring it back" and I'm on a trip learning after spending 4k ( new tires) these things... URG! I will not be back... seeking a new airstream service company after Three years of dissatisfaction. read more

I will start off by saying I posted a bad review after we purchased a trailer from this organization. After numerous calls to the regional manager and the store manager we finally got some resolution to the problems we had. I reluctantly deleted that review and will now address the issues so far. The Good: It's a great showroom as you would expect. The sales person was informative about the product on hand. We left after a couple hours feeling pretty good. We discussed some follow up items with him with the understanding we would hear from him soon. And that's where it all falls apart... The Bad: Don't expect a call back from anyone, literally no one will call you back unless they think they're bagging a whale for a sale. Sales person (Brent) never once called back after this point unless we initiated some sort of contact. This should have been a sign considering most sales people in this position are vultures who relentlessly hound you. My guess is, these guys must be making so much in commissions they don't have a need to care about service, I'm not sure... With that out the way we decided to drink the kool aid and join the Airstream club. After signing all the paperwork and handing over the hefty down payment and discussing everything we wanted and need to pay extra for, Brent assured us everything would be taken care of and there would be no surprises. Boy were we wrong... The sales guy didn't bother to show up on delivery day, I find that odd. I've never had that happen before. The day we went to pick up the unit we are immediately hit with extra charges for items we wanted and talked about. Not that big of a deal, we just wanted to be prepared. Be up front and honest. The back door was damaged and needed to be repaired and all of the cargo nets on it were worn. We should have just left the unit there and went home, we knew better, but we were excited. Before we left the technician assured us that they would order a new door and replace the nets under warranty. We would also be getting a call the following week to set up an appointment to have to replaced. That sounded reasonable enough for us, so we left. Unfortunately as usual, we never received a call back, so we called them. Upon talking to them we were informed that we would then have to make multiple trips hours away back and forth from the dealership to deal with their repair issues. After numerous calls, texts, emails to discuss the problem with this I finally got ahold of the store manager, Kevin. When Kevin called, he proceeded to yell, talk down to me and act like a complete jerk. I had to put him in his place and tell him not to talk to me in a disrespectful tone and manner. After having a much better conversation a short time later, he agreed to come pick up the trailer and have it repaired in 7 to 10 days. I also explained to Kevin that we were leaving on a trip in 3 weeks. Time was imperative. Also didn't need to get done immediately, but he assured us that it would be taken care of. After 7 days we started making inquiries as to when it would be done. Again crickets. 10 days, more crickets. More calls, texts, emails. When I get ahold of the first person they explain they have no idea they even picked up my trailer or even started a repair. Also again promised a call back. Hours go by. Wife calls now. Long story short. They haven't even thought about repairing it yet!!! WTF Then the service person explained we were more than welcome to pick it back up on our dime. I'm so annoyed and angry... The story continues to another day... I will update accordingly Buyer beware! read more

Took my 2025 Airstream in for service. They told me they keep it for two weeks, everything for my warranty work was fixed and on time pick up. They were running a discount special on a 3" lift so I added and got my Airstream back as scheduled my Advisor was Steve. He showed me everything was fixed. Repaired a Basecamp roof while under warranty and charged me for it. Initially they were great and planned to help with a warranty claim by helping document the leak(s). After I paid they ghosted me and stopped providing any help. I have lost all confidence in this dealership and in Airstream warranty. I've seen several recent negative reviews of Bay Area Airstream Adventures, and although I don't doubt they reflect the experience of those who wrote them I have to say it has not been my experience doing business there. We've purchased two Airstreams from them and had excellent service. Not inexpensive, but high quality. I also always found them to advocate for me with Airstream to get the issues covered under warranty whenever possible. Things break on RV's, and I've broken plenty of stuff myself over the years, all of which Bay Area Airstreams fixed, and when there was a problem with there work addressed it and didn't charge me. RV's aren't investments, and Airstreams aren't perfect, but I don't regret my purchase. read more

Everyone working there is nice enough. But nice doesn't equal competence or quality. Phones are not answered. Emails go unreturned. Service estimates are often the length of time your rig must sit on their lot before they even start the work. They are SUPER happy to make a sale and take your money, and you can bet they will be very attentive until you sign the papers. Then? crickets are all you will hear... or platitudes. When it comes to meeting minimal expectations of the trailer functioning...? Let's just say that if you are cool making monthly payments on a 140,000$ -or more- rig that spends more time in the shop not being worked on than out camping, this is the place for you. read more

Brought in my campervan to fix a stubborn Truma Combi heating system issue that I couldn't fix, despite having the manual and watching plenty of Youtube videos. This shop is one of the few certified to work on Truma systems, and the expertise shows--techs pinpointed the problem fast and got my hot water and heater running again. Labor is about $220/hr plus parts, but the clear communication and first-time fix made it worth every dollar. Highly recommended. read more

True confession: I really wasn't shopping for an Airstream, but I've been fascinated by them ever since I bought a coffee table picture book about them years ago. I just liked their retro-cool vibe and fantasized breaking free of the rat race and heading out on the open road in Airstream that I could park on the edge of the Grand Canyon. Oh, who am I kidding? What I did find out is that there are only two authorized Airstream dealers in the Bay Area. Neither are remotely that close to San Francisco. One is off 101 in Morgan Hill south of San Jose, and the closest one is this location in Fairfield. I only discovered it because I was already going to the Jelly Belly factory nearby and wondered if there was anything else to see in the immediate area. Since I wasn't a prospective buyer, I was wondering if it would be OK for me just to browse like I was at some RV show. When I walked in, there was a receptionist who asked me to wait until a salesperson could help me. Uh-oh. Well, the staff was so busy that she let me go into the warehouse on my own. There I saw the inventory parked throughout the space and walked through several models of varying sizes, many with options on high-end fixtures. One was even designed by The Pottery Barn, and it was like their catalog came to life on wheels. By the time a salesperson caught up with me, I confessed my reason for being there, and she was as nice as can be. I took her card because who knows? Wanderlust may call my name. Matt Brinegar was the service advisor for our Mercedes Airstream. He told Sandy and I we had to pay a minimum $299.00 diagnostic fee. He admitted that his technician failed to fix our breaker on the inverter. We discovered this after we drove the airstream to Wyoming for the night after our outlets couldn't be used. I sent Matt a text advising him I would need an electrician to diagnose it. The electrician I hired replaced the damaged breaker. I explained the fix and told Matt he should refund Sandy and I the diagnostic fee. He ghosted me twice without responding to my text. I sent Matt a text to talk to his manager and still no response. read more

We were quite disappointed after spending money on a new airstream that the service department didn't fix any of the warranty issues we are now having fixed elsewhere. When they could have taken some dry WD-40 and lubricated the key lock for the door they told us it would get easier with time. I could never lock or unlock the door until someone told us to try the dry WD-40. Our tires were 10 lbs under inflated upon delivery. The worst part was them telling us "if there was banging when using the water system we should just go out side and open up the outside shower". No, it was installed poorly (which one would hope wouldn't be the case when purchaing an airstream) and it was just fixed with ingenuity at shop for warranty repair. To pay as much as we did and get such poor service AFTER having written the check - I will never purchase anything from them. Very disappointed. read more

We just recently bought a used airstream, and we're given the same stellar treatment as when we bought new! We love our airstream. We worked with Ralph and went with the REI basecamp edition. We should have listened to Ralph initially and gotten the electric tongue jack. I recommend you get one, and if you get the solar panel system, do the aftermarket upgrade for the 1000-watt inverter. We never felt pressure to buy. We kicked the tires on several airstreams before we settled on the one we bought. We kept going back for 3-4 months before we put money down. We 100% feel we bought the right airstream and we never felt pressured. read more

I had a bit of a mixup which was completely my fault and resulted in me leaving a negative review. I was under the impression that the extended warranty I purchased covered yearly maintenance. It didn't and I should have known that. After complaining about the two-week turnaround time they were kind enough to offer me a three-day turnaround. My complaint was that I didn't understand why they needed to hold onto the vehicle for more than a day to do an inspection. I believe they are currently experiencing considerably higher business volume than they are used to and this is a precautionary measure to ensure that no one is promised something they can't deliver on. Anyway, they went exceptionally far out of their way to help me even after I complained and gave them a bad review. The owner even reached out to me directly to help. They've always taken care of me and I LOVE my Airstream. read more

I took delivery a couple years ago, of my 'new to me' 6 month old 2017 International Serenity 28 foot Airstream travel trailer. The walk through lasted about an hour, walking through, the guy pointing things out. The Fantastic Vent didn't work, he said, "oh it must have gotten dew on it last night when it was outside." (we were inside the warehouse). I purchased a very expensive lithium battery from them. They did NONE of the DMV work, which would have saved me $100 to have the VIN verified. I had to ASK for a piece of paper to prove I owned it, if I were pulled over on the way to Southern California. The woman in the office behaved as if that was a HUGE effort. No one was kind, no one was helpful. When I got home, I had to take it to my local dealership, I was fortunate to have one less than 50 miles away. They installed a new Fantastic Vent, helped me to transfer the warranty, replaced the valve in the water heater, which never worked properly. The travel trailer was filthy, a HUGE wad of black hair in the shower trap nearly occluded the drain. (I have gray hair), there was also a wad of hair in the bathroom sink. After getting all the bugs worked out, they installed another solar panel on the roof for me, and I've been on the road, ever since. It's just the little attention to detail that was one of the selling points when I decided to purchase Airstream. NOT all AS dealerships are created equal, it's clear to me. They had many opportunities to make things right and failed at every attempt. read more

Went here with a friend to check out campers and RV vehicles. Of all the places we visited, this was by far THE BEST! Staff and sales team were professional, friendly, knowledgable and helpful. While we were there a couple from North Carolina, traveling down to Southern California to visit their daughter stopped in. They needed a check up on their Airstream. The sales rep that was giving us a tour, invited them along. A really nice conversation and sharing of what it is like to own and travel in an airstream. Airstream is truly top-quality and well-worth the money. No, I have not purchased one yet; just looking. And, maybe some time in the not too distant future I might get one. In May 2018 we decided to buy a airstream atlas. It was the worst financial decision of our lives. We purchased a new Atlas Motorhome with 6400 miles. This unit was either a demo unit or a lemon. It was in the shop more than we had it. Finally after 18 months of poor service from Bay Area Airstream and their inability to keep the Atlas on the road we finally turned it in. We took a $60,000 loss after putting less than 1700 miles on it in 18 months. We traded it in and decided to purchase a airstream trailer. Our hope is that the airstream trailer works out better than the motorhome. However, we are still working with Bay Area Airstream to get us a title and have been working with them for over a month. Their sales department is in disarray and cannot figure out how to get the documentation for me for the DMV. Their finance manager quit without notice or was fired quickly resulting in mass confusion in their sales execution. In addition, it's been over a month and I still haven't received my check for the trade-in. (It's pretty significant.) When I called they are very apologetic and make commitments they can't make. They commit to sending documentation and or my check and haven't figured out how to execute. This results in more phone calls, more apologies and still not provide proper service. It's amazing that this company still does business based on how we've been treated. having purchased and sold 50+ vehicles in my lifetime, this has been the most horrendous experience ever. And yes, Kyle called me to apologize but didn't make it right. He simply said that how they handled my transaction was satisfactory to their business practices. read more

Buying an airstream was the ultimate dream for us. We purchased our first ever trailer, the Airstream Sport, earlier this year in April. We were excited to take it out on our first camping adventure with our 3 month old baby. We received great support from our sales rep, Sandi, up to when we purchased it. During our walk through, they found several issues that had to be addressed, including an unfinished bathroom panel. I wasn't so thrilled to find all the defects, considering it was a new 2017 Airstream. But I was promised that the team would take care of it. After taking our airstream home with us, we were promised that they would call to keep us updated on the status of getting our airstream fixed. 4 months later and we still did not receive a single call from the Service team. We were told that it would take at least 8 weeks to get the part. But come on, 4 months, really? Without a single call to let us know what's going on? So finally I called and they tell me the part has been in. Then why wouldn't you guys call to let us know? So we scheduled a time to bring our airstream back to get it serviced. We were told, it would be ready in 3 weeks. Again no call to let us know where they are with fixing it. I was scheduled to pick it up yesterday and good thing I called because they told me it was not ready. They now have to keep it longer because they found other issues with the doors and they have to go to an external bathroom company to get it fixed. I get it, they have to outsource to get the job done. But at least call to let us know. And why does a new airstream have so much issues? So we were told that they would need to hold it longer to get the bathroom and all other issues fixed. A courtesy call would be nice. We were so excited to take our airstream on many adventures with our baby but unfortunately it's spending more time in the shop getting fixed. Really, how does a brand new airstream have this much issues? I feel like I was ripped off for the money I paid for. read more

It is very difficult to get the Airstream interstate fixed or serviced. They never call back or answer the phone. This is not just because of Covid or updating the lobby. I owned my Airstream since 2014 and there always something going wrong with it and no help or it take weeks and a lot of arguments! Sad... read more

As a first time buyer/owner, I was nervous about a bunch of things regarding my new-to-me Flying Cloud 25. Dave Villalobos, who did my multiple hour walk-through today, took care of all of those and many more! Dave is an excellent resource for tips and suggestions, was generous with his time, was polite and patient while I tried to find the words to articulate my questions, and went over every system in the unit both inside and out in detail. Afterwards, I felt like I was equipped to handle everything, and had even started troubleshooting and weighing different options in my mind. Such a relief!! And he did this all while being personable and humorous, and at the right pace for me to listen and digest, take notes and for my friend to videotape the tour. As a result, I feel more confident as I plan my Airstream adventures!! Thanks, Dave! Making this purchase was a long time coming, for me, and this place gave the right amount of follow up and support to make it happen. Hats off everyone!! UPDATE: Nearly two years later and this dealership still shines. I store my Airstream there and have had things added (solar, back up camera) and serviced. Without fail they notice all the right things, follow through and treat you fairly. I would give less than 1 if I could purely from the viewpoint of customer service and lack of accountability for workmanship. I have a 1 year old 4x4 Airstream Interstate and had a few options installed - extended batteries and solar panel system , automatic generator start and a few others. During the pre-pick up tour and inspection their were multiple issues noted and idenfitied and documented with the service member mainly the AGS didn't work , generator was excessivley loud and batteries didn't stay charged as expected. I had a trip all planned and they couldn't look at the system to get it working as expected but assured me I can get it finalized at other airstream dealers. Wow was I suckered ,it is very difficult to get a reasonable appt at most dealers especially when out on the road. Now that I am back at my home dealer they want to charge me money due to now their saying they don't warranty batteries . Both Fairfield the dealer and Airstream are very frustrating to deal with after they get their money and sell you everything .. Never again will I deal with Airstream . Over a 3 week period I called 3 times and each and every time was greeted with enthusiasm and we'll have someone call you right back. Never happened. Don't bother wasting your time - go to Gilroy, Santa Rosa or Los Banos instead. They at least are interested in trying to get your business. read more

It's as if they don't want you business. The sad part is this company is the first one Air Stream lists on it's website when looking for service in the area. I bought a 16 sport a year ago. My sales guy was Henry. He is super friendly and down to earth. A few months later, I after had my eye on a 23 ft. When a slightly used 2019 flying cloud 23 FB showed up, I called and asked about it. Bob Vyvlecka locked it up for me to come look at it. Of course, it was THE ONE and I bought it. I was having fridge problems and has made a post on Facebook looking for suggestions. Well, Bobby saw my post. He happens to live near me and called me up before work yesterday saying he wanted to swing by and check the fridge. He came over, looked at a couple things, and decided it needed to go in to the service dept. Knowing I was working and planned to go camping this weekend, he brought home a truck from the dealership and towed my trailer in for service. It turns out the fridge was bad. Something with the coil getting clogged. Anyway, ordering a fridge would take 3 weeks. Bobby told them I needed it back this week. They ended up finding a new fridge and put it in my trailer! AND, they saw one of the outside light was out so they fixed it too! I came home from work and shortly after, Bobby delivered my trailer all fixed up and ready to go. RATED HIGHEST!!!! All the staff at Bay Area Airstream are amazing and work so hard; a great experience I would highly recommend. The entire process was so easy, start to finish. Ask for Daniel (Danny) Villanueva, very friendly, knowable and patient with my endless questions and concerns. Bobby Vyvlecka is the guy that helps work magic on the numbers. Between the two of them, a very smooth experience and now able to use 25' Eddie-Bauer (the last one!). I can't say enough about them as being, easy to talk to, respectful, caring, very low key and open about accommodating my needs. At times, I would have a question or concern and I texted Danny off hours only to be surprised with answers or assurance he would search for the solution. Also, he makes a video walk through of the trailer and that helped a lot...I must have replayed that a dozen times. The experience continued with an amazing team in the service department. Many questions and requests were taken care of professionally. Work was completed with focus to detail, within a good acceptable time-frame and on budget. Both Chris and Josh appeared endlessly patient and continue to give their honest opinions to help solve and accommodated my needs. Steve (the general manager) took the time to get me a simple pin needed for the latch on the hookup on the trailer hitch, and that was around closing time.
