The shingles on the pitched sections were nearing the end of their lifespan, and the two large flat sections were old tar-and-gravel roofs with significant water ponding. Switching to closed cell foam for the flat sections made the most sense, and after a lot of research I selected Abril Roofing. One of the biggest reasons I chose Abril was that they could handle both the spray foam roofing and the shingle sections in-house, making the entire project much easier to coordinate. They also backed their work with a 15-year leak-proof guarantee. Over the next 13 years, we had zero problems. The foam roof performed exactly as advertised and proved to be exceptionally durable. In fact, when a large limb from a redwood tree fell on it, it didn't even scratch the surface. The shingles on the pitched sections have aged just as well. So when it came time to renew the UV protective coating on the foam (typically recommended after about 10-15 years), there was never much question about who I would call. I was happy to work with Rick again. He clearly explained the restoration process, answered all of my questions, and quoted a very fair price. A couple of weeks later, the crew arrived to pressure wash the roof. The close inspection confirmed just how well the roof had held up over the years, while also revealing enough minor wear in the topcoat to show that the timing for restoration was exactly right. On the second day, the crew repaired every small imperfection (and I mean every), primed the entire foam roof, and applied a fresh topcoat. They were meticulous, professional, and took obvious pride in their work. The finished roof looks fantastic. I want to thank Rick and everyone at Abril Roofing for another job exceptionally well done.
