Still love the crab rice but this time ordered big plate with this crab rice and salmon. Crab rice had almost no crab and portion was small :( we had to go to pizza truck because we left hungry.

What a special Yelp find! Four of us were feeling a bit peckish & decided to try Bay City Kitchen after I read the reviews. What a lovely place with an amazing staff & service! From the moment we walked in, I knew we were in for a treat. We all ended ordering the Mac & Cheese, and I splurged on the chef's special dessert of spice cake, rhubarb & cream. We all agreed the Mac & Cheese was just perfect. Being served in a small aluminum tin brought me back to my childhood memories of frozen Mac & Cheese- albeit the taste of today's dish was miles above any I had as a kid! I loved all of the cookbooks and other decor plus the old school food ads on the bathroom walls were awesome! Can't wait to go back and try their other dishes. Definitely !

WOW! What a hidden gem located in Bay City, Oregon. My husband and I were craving a sit down fresh meal and we found Bay City Kitchen on Yelp. We were lucky enough to come on a Sunday and be able to order their pre fix Sunday dinner three course dinner. My husband had the beef brisket and I had the veggie lasagna. At $35 per plate and locally sourced ingredients this meal is a STEAL! The salad was fresh and lite, dinner was flavorful and large portions, and the peach Melba ended the meal on such a sweet note! There is indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor seating you may be at a large table with another party. You pay upfront and service yourself with water and table wear. I would recommend making reservations in advance for the Sunday dinner as I did hear them turn down some parties.

Thanks Yelp for introducing me to this spot. Was passing the area and decided to stop by for lunch. It's a small operation of 2, so the service is personal (albeit a little slow during lunch rush). But the food is definitely worth the wait! I got the meatball sub and the flavors were on point, the bread was toasted so it's crunchy yet soft inside. Definitely would order this again! My friend got the kimchi fried rice and she thought it was pretty good, although we saw a lot of locals ordering the gnudi. Getting that next time! Glad there's this level of quality food in a small town - will be stopping by here whenever we're in the area!

Found this place on Yelp & so glad we did! Delicious food at affordable prices-- I had crab fried rice & an increases of marinated radishes, fennel, micro greens, smoked salmon & nuts & seeds. Vegan & absolutely delicious & fresh. My friend had coho salmon over the fried rice & found it flavorful & delicious. I got a chocolate crinkled cookie that I saved for today & it too was super yummy. Casual atmosphere--order at the counter, but then they bring you the food. Lots of outdoor seating options & a sweet, small, inside dining area. Do yourself a favor & stop by for a tasty dinner!

This is a hidden fine dining spot, a bit unusual for the Oregon coast. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and presentation of food. Amazingly priced and a wonderful use of ingredients together that I wouldn't normally think of. Highly recommend, especially the Sunday three-course dinner! My only suggestion is the apricot almond tort was very dry - either change recipe or it was old/sitting out and dried out :(

What a delightful find. They provide both indoor and outdoor seating. The ingredients are largely local. Today, the Hubbs and I shared several dishes. We started with a cup of the salmon chowder - made with a yummy fish stock base. We would have been perfectly happy with a bowl of this and some bread. The Caesar salad was made with local greens and had hazelnuts and pickled red onion. We also shared the brat platter with fresh-made sauerkraut and German potatoes. Then we shared the lasagna. It was filled with meat and veggies and a fabulous marinara sauce. I wish we could have tried the desserts! They looked yummy. Definitely added this place to my favorites in the area. Service was the best and we loved the decor featuring local artists, bottles of wine and cookbooks.

My friends and I stopped here on a Monday afternoon around 3pm because it was close to our Airbnb and we LOVED IT! There is ample seating inside the restaurant. The atmosphere is peaceful and the food is delish! I had the Dungeness crab fried rice with a side of kimchi + the soup of the day (smoked fish & razor clam chowder) - and would 12/10 recommend both! very quick and attentive service.

Amazing! Everything here was fabulous: delicious clean food, peaceful ambiance, excellent staff. I was happy to find a gluten free vegan dessert (Panna Cotta) and they made my order of crab fried rice gluten free. This is not a designated gluten free restaurant, but they did an excellent job of customizing my order to meet my dietary restrictions. My friend loved her Gnudle pasta and said the Chocolate Moelleux was "worth every calorie."the a

This place is absolutely precious! I have driven by several times since they opened last summer (July? 2023) and decided to stop in on my way out of town - I am not sorry!! I ordered the house made ricotta dumplings (fantastic) and grabbed a container of "Feel Good Broth" from the grab and go freezer (have not tried yet, but it is going to be a real treat, I'm sure). There is a rotating menu so check the website before you go. The pastry case is beautiful and if they have the brown sugar shortbread cookies, GET THEM. I made the mistake of asking for a bag instead of a plate and it was a bag wasted - they did not make it out the door. Customer service is top notch too. You can't go wrong.

    Menu for Sunday supper

My mouth and mind were blown yet again with the amazing farm and sea to table Sunday supper. Two choices tonight for main course (pork or tuna). I chose the albacore tuna and I now know I can never eat again as this was perfection and I'll always compare every meal to this. The meal started with a salad that tickled my taste buds with delicious and fresh ingredients, then the main course that made me cry- it was THAT perfect, and ended with a lovely peach buckle that is like no other-total perfection. Make a reservation for Sunday supper-you'll thank me forever.

It reminded me of two Italian spots in Seattle's Pioneer Square. Very popular since most of the onsite seating were occupied (6/20/25). No surprise after glancing at their menu, easily I could gravitate towards several of their sandwiches. Lots of merch and deli items are also available to select from. I ended up ordering a half pound of proscuitto (0.52 lb for $17.67). This was carefully sliced thin, packaged, and wrapped carefully, which was duly noted and greatly appreciated. We paused at window counter seats and had to sample the purchase before departing. Absolutely delicious! Helped elevate a meal the next day too. I may have to return to indulge in one of their Italian sandwiches. Update: we did return to dine onsite at the same window counter seats (6/22/25). The Homie had the Hot Meatball ($14). Meaty with zesty sauce. I had the Salami Panini ($12), which reminded me of a fave Italian panini at Irwin's Bakery & Cafe in Seattle. Both were fantastic, hit the spot, clean plate club worthy, and definitely no takeout boxes needed! Gaetano's Market & Deli, a terrific find in Astoria!

The Tillamook creamery has been going on for well over 100 years. It's a co-op of the local farmers, and they make amazing cheese with their high-quality dairy milk. The place is very busy, especially during the summertime, but there is lots and lots of parking for Cars, campers, buses motorhomes, etc. If you have an EV, they even have Tesla superchargers out in the overflow parking lot. The place is great. You go upstairs, and you get the factory tour. You don't actually get to go into the factory, but you see everything that is happening through the big picture windows. It covers the entire cheese making process. They also have lots and lots of samples available. They have a restaurant/snack bar, they have ice cream, they have gifts, and did I mention the cheese? Any type of cheese you're looking for, they probably have. The prices are reasonable, although some items are definitely higher priced. I got some of the cheese curds, which I love, I bought the single serve black pepper, Monterey Jack, which I had had before, and I loved. I also got a truffle Monterey Jack that is amazingly creamy, and earthy. For my sister, I got her the 10 year Monterey Jack. At 20 bucks for 8 ounces, definitely not cheap, but she really enjoyed it. She said it was extremely tangy and tasty. A bit too pricey for an everyday cheese, but well worth it for a special treat. For everything that they have, they also have a military/veterans discount. I've stopped here before, and I will definitely stop here again. Thank you.

Come for the free self guided tour, skip the cafeteria food…read more The self guided tour is free and fun for all ages. You can learn how cheese is made and packaged on a large scale. Lots of things to reach and you can sample as much cheese and ice cream. Sampling line is long but cycles through quickly. The cafeteria food had so much potential but it's a total fail. The hamburgers had tiny patties and was mostly bread. The same goes for pizza. It feels like eating 80 percent bread and 20 percent meat. They could have really showcased their cheese in a much better way, but instead let everyone in our group down (except for the kids). French fries were good though. The ice cream was great. Note that they have two lines for this - one on inside and outside. The inside one was long but less people were aware of the outside one. They have a lawn area for dogs and kids to play on. It was great because the weather was nice and kids can run around. They should offer doggie bags for owners to pick up their dog poop though. I saw an owner let their dog lay a fresh one around where our kids were playing and didn't clean it up. The grocery and souvenir store is fun to browse around. The overall experience wasn't as cheesy as I expected. Just a few puns were used, such as "Mooving door". Come here for a grate experience. Plan your lunch elsewhere.
