Transparency-check your invoice and ask questions I felt tricked. Lots of upselling without transparency in my last three visits. My last visit 6/26 had to ask optician to go over the list of charges when my bill was more than expected. Upgrades like anti-glare, anti-scratch, or extra thin material for my moderate prescription reading glasses were all on the bill without me being included in the choices. My prior visit, 7/25 was a similar situation. And the 7/24 visit left me with a pair of off the shelf Maui Jim's w/warped lenses. In this case, the optician (Bob) should have noticed that the lenses were damaged (probably due to being directly underneath the display light). Dr. Dally made it right on the 6/25 visit because the issue was within 1 year warranty, but I had to pay processing fees. The doctor here is good. It's the lack of transparency and inclusion from the front of the house that is something of which to be aware. read more

The staff here is very friendly and professional! They help explain the process during the exam and the financing/insurance coverage also. Pricilla was very helpful in explaining my insurance coverage and in choosing out a proper pair of frames. The office is also very nice and clean. I've gotten a few pairs of glasses here, I would recommend them for your eye glass needs. read more

Myself and two others in my family have been here and we all think very highly of the doctors and staff at Bay View Eye Care. The office is on the 2nd floor of a very nondescript building at the back of lot. It's easy to drive by but at least there's plenty of parking. The doctors and staff are all very nice and they have lots of cool high tech gadgets. Children and adults seem to have a good time getting eye exams, although the "make the room dark then take a flash photo of your eye" process is a little weird. Their selection of eyeglasses is pretty large, as you'd expect, so you'll most likely be able to find something acceptable. They also mentioned they can make custom lenses for frames, which would have been nice to know before I ordered an expensive set of sunglasses. Overall it's a painless and fast experience and everyone there is efficient and professional. We will most likely continue to use their services for annual eyecare. read more

My first appointment was better than I could have hoped for. Everyone in the office was friendly and helpful. They took time to discuss things with me, and explained what I didn't know or understand! Ive had good experience here and came back for years. Unfortunately my last two visits, I interacted with Bob (? I think thats his name, older gentleman) and he is pretty aggressive raising his tone both visits. I had the wrong prescription assigned (couldn't wear the two pair of glasses due to eye pain and headache after wearing them for less than 3 minutes) and he pushed back very hard when i came back with the correct prescription I got from Kaiser. I walked away the second interaction with him at this first tone raise. Unfortunately due to Bob's (again, unsure if that's his name) interactions I will stop coming back after years of being their costumer; Unfortunate as I really enjoyed my interactions with the Dr and the rest of the staff. read more

Very professional, efficient, and effective eye doctors! If you have time to look around and ask questions about your eyes, they are all ears and give you full attention without rushing you out for next appointments. They have great assortment of the newest style frames. But also, if you are in a rush, they can be very efficient yet thorough and get you on your way with an updated prescription, which I am so appreciative of! First time Annual eye exam. The entire staff was very professional and friendly. Very much appreciate that they require folx to wear masks upon entry. Additionally, they clean all sample frames prior to replacing in the displays. It was fascinating to see the updated technology that is used. Though I could not find a new eye glass frame that I liked - I did notice and very much appreciated the patience with the staff helping me to try on several frames. Last - the office looks clean, open , modern, tidy, and has a warm and professional feel. Definitely recommend. read more

While visiting Campbell, CA one of the nose pads on my glasses broke off. A quick search on google showed me that Bay View Eye Care was just a few blocks from where I'm staying. Called to verify they were open, receptionist was cheerful and enthusiastic in informing me that I could swing right over and they'd be delighted to fix my glasses. In ten minutes I arrived at the office and was immediately greeted and told them that I had just called and was sure hoping they could replace the broken nose pad. The technician took my glasses, asked that I take a seat and in 5 minutes returned with glasses fixed and polished! Crisis avoided, trip saved. Exceeded my expectations! Oh, and the cherry on the top, asked them what I owed and told no charge. Epic. read more

Best Optometrist Appointment Ever. Dr Craig was so knowledgeable and at ease with me. He really explained what I didn't know in an unassuming way and refreshed my memory on things pertaining to my vision in particular. Great listener and relates your career and habits to your vision. I've never had an optometrist take me to a window looking outside to check my far sighted vision and if a .25 difference of a prescription would be better for me, but he did. He also made a recommendation to help clear up some irritation on my cornea. Plus his dog Roux (the office mascot) is a total sweetie and calming presence. Great office with total care. read more

Eye Exam was great and Dr. Dally will take good care to get your eye test done properly. The issue was with the glasses I received. From the moment I wore those glasses I felt it was causing vision problems. I called the office and the receptionist told me it would take them a while before I get used to the new glasses. She was very rude and and I had paid $300 on top of my coverage to get the right glasses. Its been more than six months now and I still cannot wear my glasses. So its a good place to get an Eye test but the worst place to get overpriced, incorrect prescription glasses with bad service. read more

Dr. Craig and Dr. David Dally are both absolutely incredible. Both gentlemen are kind, warm, and honest. The office as a whole cares about its patients and their wallets. When I took my husband in for his first experience at Bay View Eye Care and he inquired about contacts, they were very honest about the cost vs the use he would get out of them. His eyes make it so that he cannot use daily contacts and thanks to Dr. David's honesty he decided to get glasses that day. Dr. David was even nice enough to give him a sample of possible contacts so that he could make the best decision in his own time. I cannot say enough good things about the lovely ladies that help me schedule appointments, pick out glasses, and talk to me about sunglasses. They are all so very friendly and treat both me and my husband as if they saw us weekly. Oh, and of course, it's impossible to write a review for Bay View Eye Care without mentioning the adorable puppy. I've been wearing glasses and sometimes contacts for 60 years with no optometrist problems. From August into November of 2017 I tried to use both Drs. Chin and Slater in Pruneyard but over all that time they couldn't produce glasses that focused was well as my current progressive lenses. They finally fired me as a patient, but kept the insurance money for their "services". This set me back a year in upgrading my glasses. So I was not in the best mood about getting new glasses when I got an appointment with Dr David Dally. During the exam I was very impressed with his knowledge and explanations. Much better than I recall experiencing before. The optician was outstanding. Also great boots :-) I ordered progressive lenses and hoped for the best. I received my new glasses in one week and by that afternoon the usual distortion was going away and they are perfect! I can see 20/20 in the distance and still pretty well for using my computer. I'll get computer / task glasses next year from them. read more

The worst eye Dr you can see. We trusted the Dr here and my husband was recommended for a lasik surgery by Dr. Dally to Dr Mandel. The surgery was botched up and now my husband is blind on one eye. After consulting with several other eye doctors we learnt that my husband is not a candidate for laser surgery at all. However, the damage is done and it is too late. So if you plan to have eye surgery avoid Dr. Mandel and Dr. Dally who leads you to him. read more

All the staff is really nice and helpful! The retinal eye scan is one of the coolest health technologies I've seen in a while and it's helpful to get such a detailed explanation from Dr. Dally about what is going on with the back of my eyes. I also love that they aren't pushy about buying glasses directly from them, although they do have some very nice designer brands to chose from. Sadly I plan on leaving the South Bay in the coming months, but I may decide to drive ~1 hour for my next checkups going forward. read more

I found Bay View Eye Care Center a number of years ago, and I don't need to change my prescription very often. The thing I love about going to Dr. Craig Dally is he's exact and doesn't presume he knows the settings you'll like, he either knows for sure, or he asks. And he takes the information you give during the exam and ponders over what that means in terms of the prescription you will need. Its not just a numbers game. He helped me when I temporarily went to another optometrist, who couldn't get my prescription correct after 3 attempts, and I finally went back to Dr. Craig Dally. Great office staff. Their excellent service and ability to recognize that I'm one of those people that doesn't plan and schedule medical visits in advance. They got me in the next day (over their lunch hour). Dr. Dally was wonderful and spent as much time as I needed while I attempted to read what I'm certain was Arabic letters. Thank goodness we found the right new prescription for me and with a nice selection of frames (although mostly conservative in style) I made my purchase of new glasses less than 24 hours of my first call. Its finually time to say goodbye to this office, I have been a patient here for over 5 years. In the last two years the customer service has gotten worse. Last year I purchased new frames and I could not pick them up during the week so I went on a saturday. I arrived at the office @ about 10 minutes to 1p and they were just about to exit the door and close for the day. I asked if i can pick up my frames and Dr Dally's wife said sure. I entered the office and she handed me my frames but didnt even bother to turn the lights on. I took the frames n left but still had a problem with the frames, they needed an adjustment. I was so annoyed because they were suppose to be open till 1pm and frustrated because i had to go back another day to adjust them. At the end of each visit , they schedule you for your next appointment a year later. I do like that, but canceled the appointment because i didnt confirm. I went to the appointment to find out it was cancelled. They were not appoligetic nor did they try to squeeze me in. Also... Dr. Dally is very good at his job but after going there over five years, you would think he would atleast say hello. He will not great you until you are actually evulated by him, which is rude. His son just joined the family practice there as well but i dont know if he is more customer orientated than his Dad or Mom. I finally said goodbye... i value my time and money spent and i do feel customer service is important. read more

I had an eye emergency where I found my eye so irritated I could not stop blinking and my eye was leaking tears in a stream. Dr. Dally fit me in within 10 minutes of my arrival and I was amazed at what a great experience it was to see him. He was professional, friendly and proficient at his skill. Within a minute he had placed anesthetic and I was completely out of pain. He identified that I had a piece of something lodged under my eyelid and he removed it quickly and painlessly. He also agreed to see me before his regular patient schedule the next day to follow up with me and make sure I was okay. How many doctors would do that?!? My mom came into this place on a recommendation from a friend. She figured she'd try a new place even though she was kinda ok with the previous doctor downtown. I was with her the whole time. The prescription had too much stigmatism. The staff was nice but not helpful. Oh yeah... The place is new and looks professional, but the staff doesn't fit the mold. One guy was showing off his tattoo and the receptionist looked like a deer in headlights when she was asking about simple pricing things. With that kind of staff I would expect a low cost leader, but no. They are way over priced! Unless you're a biker with no class, I'd skip this place. read more
