She showed us multiple different pairs to ensure we'd pick a style we'd like within our budget! Nancy cleaned up the classes, sent us with a small care kit, and took care of us pretty well. I told I was not aware of this. She is jumped at me with such a rude tone. I'm disappointed in the recent lack of customer service for my last eye visit. I had concerns with having cloudy vision and Dr. Chang wanted to give me a referral to a retina specialist. I followed up for over month now to get the referral and the front desk either doesn't answer their phone or return my call. I called again and was told the doctor had a family emergency which was fine and they would get back to me early next week, which was the first week of July. First thing I want to say is that the doctor is awesome. I appreciated his knowledge, friendliness, and sociability. I felt welcomed as soon as I met him. With that said, the front of house was the exact opposite and very unprofessional. I had gotten my eye exam done there and ordered a pair of glasses from them on my first visit. However, I soon realized they weren't part of VSP, so I called within the next few days to return my glasses. Should have been a very simple process. When I called in, they told me that I have to wait for my glasses to arrive before I can return it. Not sure why, but whatever, no problem. So when they arrived, I never get a call from them to let me know. I had to call in myself to find out (which they don't always pick up). Then they needed me to come in to the office to process the return, which is quite a drive in itself, but happy to accommodate as it was my fault for not realizing they weren't part of VSP in the first place. Now once the return was done, they told me, my insurance was good to be used else where. Sweet, I'm all set to go..... or so I thought. (This was processed at the end of Nov). Now, when I go to a new optometrist, they tell me that the this optometrist still has my insurance and they need to release it. The new optometrist says I need this office to call VSP, so I call them again and they inform me that it should be clear and if anything my new optometrist can call VSP to clear it up. They also said, "it's a secret of the trade, but the front of house of my new place must be lazy cause they could have called themselves, but it's common for offices to push it around." Sure, but that means, you are in the same boat, doesn't it? sigh... Anyways, I go to my new optometrist, I order glasses and contacts from them, and we sit together to call VSP to get this resolved. VSP informs us that sure enough, the old office still has it on hold and they are still trying to pull the claim on my insurance (a little shady). Then I found out that they also have pulled my insurance for contacts, which I never ordered from them. Looks like they just tried to sneak this one by me, extremely unprofessional. My new office continues to try to call VSP for me to get this settled and even calls this office to have them help. Obviously they weren't helpful. They informed my new optometrist that I'll need to call VSP myself, get on a 3 way call with this office, and only then can it all be cleared up. At this point it is already the new year, and my stress levels of using my insurance before they expire is at it's peak. So I call this office and tell them the situation, the front of house doesn't apologize, they don't reassure me that it was a mistake, they just say "ok" as if they have no part in this. Not saying a single word for a few minutes, they ask me if I'm going to connect them with VSP and I say I thought they would be helping with that. To which they respond, "we don't call VSP, you have to." Hold up, when did that become a rule and how can you still be so rude when you are trying to steal my insurance for glasses I returned (over a month ago) and for contacts I never ordered. Luckily this office was completely wrong about the process, no surprise there. VSP created a claim for me and I am good to go now. But in all my years, I have never experienced such terrible professionalism from a whole team. They were not apologetic about any of this and continued to blame other offices for there laziness. Truly the worse front of house I have ever dealt with. If it wasn't for my new office that helped me through this whole process I bet this office would have just taken my insurance money and kept quiet about it. Thank goodness for my new office, I'll never leave them now, they are truly genuine hardworking people and I appreciate them tremendously. read more

My previous optometrist was okay but they were so oversubscribed that it was impossible to get an appointment without waiting 2 - 3 months! I love that when I call i-Care I can always get an appointment within a few days. Dr. Huang called me to follow up on my daughter's adjustment to her new prescription. Liz and Mimi are also helpful when it comes to the frame selection. They ask questions about budget and preference. They are mindful of the best frame selection for my budget. Mimi helped me choose a versatile pair of frames that can match with most colors of clothing. Liz is very helpful with the frame adjustments, too. I got wind of this place from a LivingSocial deal. I figured I could buy backup prescription (i.e., "throwaway") glasses and not pay thru the nose. So I get there a half hour before they close on the last possible day before my LivingSocial deal expires. The receptionist was having some issues processing the deal and eventually Dr. Hua came out. He was more friendly than I expected, especially a half hour before closing. Apparently, LivingSocial somehow expired my deal even though it clearly stated that it expired the following day. To my very pleasant surprise, Dr. Hua honored the deal and said he would take care of it for me. Not only that, he patiently explained everything and took care of the paperwork -- although I did have to pay shipping. :P It was quite an unhurried and unrushed transaction, which doesn't always happen... [I thought I was "done" with i-Care but nooooo...] My friend told me about these AIR OPTIX Night & Day AQUA contacts that you can wear nearly a month at a time. After Costco inexplicably stopped offering them, I didn't know where to turn (but I kinda knew I'd be going back to i-Care). Due to poor planning, I was also almost totally out of disposable one-day contacts AND headed to Hawaii. Dr. Hua shockingly (!) took pity on me and gave me a few samples to help me out until I got back. At first, I was going to let the reply by Randy Hua go, trying to give him the benefit of the doubt, and going with he must have had his days confused. However, after reading his replies to ANYONE on yelp who says anything negative, he attacks them. Calls them out of their character. Therefor, I now believe that he is a liar, and just doesn't want to own up to a simple misunderstanding by his staff and myself. These are the facts: 1. I chose the day I did, because it was my daughters birthday, and she's been bugging me to have my eyes looked at (they're not terrible, but i am mid 40's!) 2. I called to make an appointment, the lady I spoke with was very lovely. 3. I chose the 2:30 slot. 4. Drove over to their place of business, and arrived 10 min early. 5. Tried the door, it was locked. I figured maybe they went out to get some food real quick. 6. I waited another 10 min, nobody showed up, so I wrote my initial review, made an appointment with another eye place over the phone, and I left. 7. On my way home, I received a call from i-Care, and the nice lady asked if I was coming to my appointment. I told her that I was there and the doors were locked. 8. She asked me which door I went to, and I said the main one by the parking. She then said that they were there, but were in the back and didn't hear the door. She said that I could come back, but I told her I've already set up a different appointment with another business. 9. Then Randy basically called me a liar, and said their office was closed, so I couldn't have been there that day. Really Randy? Just be an honest, decent person. The office is taking numerous steps to keep the office clean and sanitized for our safety as well as the staff. One thing I loved was that instead of using so much paper as we always do...they do their best to not with forms completed with dry erase markers instead of printing, filling, scanning and then shredding. read more

The service here is great! I have had a few checkups here, never disappointed. I do NOT recommend ordering glasses through them however, their prices are marked up significantly over even MSRP. I ordered a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses (non prescription) which are listed at $163 on Ray-ban.com. i-Care charged $243! Update: After speaking with Albert, the current owner, it seems I was just lacking understanding on how eye care pricing works. In summary, the cost for buying frames, using insurance is simply higher as the insurance payout i-Care receives is significantly less than the deduction to the customer. read more

Not only is the staff extremely friendly, but they sincerely care about their customers and take initiative to accommodate clients' needs to the best of their ability. Dr. Randy took the time to explain all of the procedures as he was performing them to make sure I was comfortable, as well as aware of the potential health problems that can occur without taking these preventative precautions. To top things off, I'm extremely picky about frames and Dr. Randy went out of his way to customize a pair of frames to my liking. He even made sure to give me a thorough lesson on cleaning my contacts, which I haven't had any other optometrist take the time to do -- despite wearing contacts for the last 9 years. I really love going to Dr. Randy Hua's office because he makes us feel comfortable and he shows us that he really cares. I used to go to Kaiser and my other optometrist there didn't really care about what I had to say about my eyes and my contacts. I have extremely dry eyes naturally and when I told Dr. Hua about my problem, he actually seemed to care unlike Kaiser. He listened and suggested I go with a couple of different eye contacts brands that he let me try out. All in all, I-Care Optometry really does live up to its name. =) 5 stars for Dr. Hua! I recently fell into Dr. Hua's care. My friend bought me a living social deal for my birthday and thus I was forced to go. I called in to the office and was shocked by the great customer service I received through the telephone. I arrived on time for the appointment and the process was smooth. I filled out some paperwork and was seen immediately by the intern. She was very informative and explained to me everything she was doing as she was doing them. I really appreciated that. After a few minutes, and a few good laughs, I was sent into a room where I waited for the doctor. I hate seeing doctors and etc because they always seem to find something wrong with me and it ends up costing me an arm and a leg. And as to my prediction, Dr. Randy Hua, like any other doctor I've seen in the past (eye, dentist, physician etc) sure enough found something wrong with me. After some consultation, I felt more assured that I was in the best of hands or should I say eyes? After a few more minutes and a few more good laughs, I was reassured that everything was going to be alright. He was definitely something awesome. He was professional and very down to earth. Definitely not too shabby. I never once felt inferior or unwelcomed by the staff at this office. And as much as to my dismay, this office has managed to make me want to come back. If you are looking for a optometrist you should check this one out first. I went in for a contacts exam and the doctor there(forgot his name) was nice, helpful and extremely patient with me. He is such a self sacrificing doctor because the optometry closed at 7pm but he stayed with me till 9pm because I was trying to put on my contacts for 2 whole hours!. I have not meet another doctor that would do that for their patients. Ericka (the receptionist) was also extremely nice and fun to chat with. Just had my first appointment here and I am pleased with their service. The girl at the front desk was cool and helpful. I personally like casual environments and where I don't feel bullshit being thrown at me. My last optometry place they were so busy trying to sell me upgrades I didn't go back. When I first came in I showed up on the wrong day but they still saw me. Also I had my wrong insurance name provider and she went out of her way to call and figure it all out and find my insurance. I actually came here on a whim yesterday while getting frozen yogart. I had my daughter and her friend with me and the Dr came out very friendly even with the kids, brought them popcorn and didn't act bothered AT ALL that I had too kids with me. Both the Dr and front desk girl were super pleasant. Also I don't know anything about eye dr stuff but I feel like they had all cutting edge equipment that I didn't have at the last few places I have been. No eye blowing thing. He was very knowledgeable and personable.
