The funny thing about me, is I don't really eat a lot of fish at all. I am a beef guy through and through. Yet when it comes to coming here, I love the fish! We try to come here at least once or twice a month because the fried fish and tarter is so good that just writing this review makes my mouth water a little bit. Its a small shop and there isn't really much space to sit, which is fine because most people just grab theirs to go. You walk in and make your way up the left side ordering fish, fries, scallops, etc. All of them gloriously fried to perfection. After a few minutes, they pull them out of the fryer and plop them down. I usually get a pounder, but sometimes you can get them a little smaller. Once you get your fish, you continue to circle around and grab your cold goods like drinks, tartar, and macaroni salad. You then pay at the end and head home with your treasure. The fish itself is wonderfully flakey and yet so soft on the inside. I hate fishy fish food, but I can tell you that every single time I have come here, it has never been fishy. It has always tasted perfect. Chop off a huge bite, dip it in your delicious home made tartar, and sail away to bliss! read more

After reading Josh's review, my husband and I needed to come try the fish fry here! There are several different lines (fish sandwiches, sides, fish/other seafood by the pound, fries) - but the staff are kind and helpful if you're lost or not sure where to stand. There is also a fridge for purchasing your other sides like tartar sauce or cocktail sauce. Ketchup packets are free and are located near the utensils. The fish is huge and reasonably priced! My husband and I split one (ours was about 1.3 pounds) and we shared a large fry with it as well. The batter is excellent and adds to the fish rather than detracts! It's not overwhelming, not soggy, but not overly crispy/dried out and they don't over-do it. Fries were great as well, although we had a few that were overdone. You likely won't be able to sit down and eat here as there are only two tables with two seats each, so have a plan for where you want to take your delicious fish and fries :) read more

This was my go-to spot, until I got treated like a piece of trash today. Girl at the counter couldn't lift her head away from her phone to acknowledge my presence. This should have been an easy to resolve situation. I ordered 2 regular sandwiches, I asked why the total was so high, she said you had 2 large sandwiches. Simple misunderstanding, I said no I actually ordered 2 regular sandwiches.(I know this bc it's what I order everytime I come) She then told me that she was the one who took my order and that I said large......ok fine whatever, if I am getting large sandwiches I will just pay for large sandwiches and be in my way. However, when I got home they were in fact regular size sandwiches. I called back to ask if my charge could be adjusted so that I pay for what I received, but what I got was more rude attitude. She said she would get her manager, but at this point I'll just hung up and decided not to go back. It's a shame bc the food is very good, but no one should be treated that way. read more

OHHHH my gosh!!!! Sooooo good! For a girl who grew up next to the ocean (well, the bay) in Rhode Island, I pride myself on knowing good seafood. While visiting family in Liverpool, my husband dragged me here as he was craving a fish sandwich. YUM! Haddock lightly breaded, fried perfectly - still light and fluffy and moist, crispy on the outside. The bun was yummy, as was the Bam Bam sauce (I think that's what it was called?). I chose that over tartar, and it was delicious - not too spicy at all! Even the french fries were perfect - they had that 'crunchy on the outside, mushy on the inside, and warm all over' feel to them. Apparently they do fried fish by the pound, too. The fried oysters looked intriguing - I'll have to get them next time! We took home a cup of the clam chowder, too, which was divine - I'm sure it wasn't on Weight Watchers, but it was worth every bite. It might not be near the ocean, but this was fresh fish. We were headed to pick up pizza when we spotted the local firemen in front of Fish Cove restaurant. Don't worry - nothing was on fire. They were there for dinner. Well, we picked up our pizza, put it in the trunk and walked over to Fish Cove. The people working were great! A line was forming so they were asking, "who needs a fish sandwich? Who needs a side of clams?" The filets were huge! The customers were getting in on the act. We asked to have our sandwich spilt and the man behind me whispered, "they are going to charge extra for that." Lol! It was extra funny because I believed him. Go here! The food was great. The filet on our sandwich was smallish (it fit perfectly on the bun though), but had I eaten the entire sandwich I would have been full! We can't wait to go back! read more

My coworker and I discussed having fish for dinner last night. She said that she knew the perfect place. They came back with the two massive pieces of fish, two huge containers of fries, and fried mushrooms. The haddock was PERFECT. The fries were PERFECT. I don't like mushrooms, but my coworker wolfed them down. So they must have been good. The only bad thing was the line was long and went outside the resturant, according to my coworker. Although, that would be a testament to how good the food is. I can't imagine how busy the Fish Cove must be during Lent. Delicious!!! We had family over and I didn't want to cook so we ordered fish cove- which I've never done before. The gentleman on the phone was extremely helpful! And boy were we all happy we got it!!! We ordered 6 large fries Haddock that was just absolute perfection; 2 large French fries which were the best fries we've ever had, slaw, macaroni salad, potato salad and mozzarella sticks that were the size of your hand. Everything was absolutely delicious although the mozz sticks I think I could have gone either way depending on palate. The price was reasonable for the amount of food we got! The service was outstanding. The taste of the good was delicious! It wasn't greasy or anything that can sometimes happen. So glad we found this gem! The haddock is amazing. Perfect fry, just the way it's supposed to be. Make it into a sandwich and "bam" you're set. The only reason I'm taking off a star is because the slaw was eh at best. I love pineapple, I do live in Hawaii, but it does not belong in cole slaw. Cabbage and pineapples do not grow in the same climate nor do they compliment each other on the pallet. read more

I went last Friday and it was the worst fish ever. The staff was a bunch of smart asses except for the fry girl. The fried shrimp, the breading didn't even stick to the shrimp and the first piece someone took was not even shelled. The worst experience ever. We tossed it and went to Price Chopper to get fish and it was the best. I will never try Babyberry Fish Cove again !! read more
