We arrived about 12:30, and were seated promptly. The dining room was about 1/3 full but we were greeted quickly by our server. We got menus and specials and water. The one server never missed a beat even as more tables were seated. I ordered Nonna's Meatballs and a house salad. The bread and table spicy oil came out soon after and the rolls were soft and buttery....it would have been easy to finish them all! Nonna's 2 giant meatballs are served in a bowl with tomato sauce and a nice size portion of ricotta cheese. I enjoyed the meatballs very much. The texture is a little soft, but it didn't bother me... I thought the flavor was very good. The tomato sauce is simple with mild seasoning. The salad was a good size and everything was very fresh...the balsamic vinaigrette was a little sweet. My friend and I had lunch today, Thursday. The food was ok. The olive oil I don't believe was real and had no flavor or color. I had the Orecchiette with sausage and broccoli rabe. Plenty of food but it was drowned in an oil base sauce with absolutely no flavor. We came because we had heard it was very good. Sorry but I was disappointed. The service was great, waitress was attentive but not overbearing. The ambiance was boring and I felt like I was in a mall restaurant, which it is. Stopped by with a friend of mine for lunch [based on the positive experiences of many in the area]. A party of 15 gals were having a birthday party for a friend, which made it incredibly loud. Service was lacking & slow. The first gal to seat us did not tell us about lunch specials. After I asked, I was provided a lunch menu. Ordered a sausage roll & chicken roll. When the food arrived, it looked delicious. Problem is, there was VERY LITTLE CHICKEN OR SAUSAGE in either lunch special. Solid melted cheese approx. three inches thick and the sausage/meat in each was mixed in as tiny little cubes. Sad to sit and eat a thick sub/roll sandwich with nearly no meat [all melted cheese. I do have to admit the red sauce was delicious. We were NOT happy and we are both grown men and could only choke down 1/2 of each meal...like eating straight FAT... We complained to our waitress Adriana B. and she said..."if you wanted a chicken sandwich, you should have ordered a chicken or sausage sandwich....wanna a box to take it home". Went for dinner last night after driving by a different crazy packed restaurant. Unfortunately, I didn't grab any pictures of the meal but got the eggplant parm. Food was decent. I definitely would have liked some ricotta in it, but overall good. Service was excellent! The location itself isn't anything special. Pretty much just a large room with booths on the walls and tables in the middle. It's not too noisy so conversation is pretty easy. They have a decent wine list and pretty good offerings for dessert. Great casual eatery. It is your local mom and pop place that is always crowded on a weekend night. Be prepared for a long meal here/slow service due to how busy it is, but that is OK. Atmosphere is cozy and menu has everything you need with better prices than downtown. I love that there is delicious complimentary bread that comes out piping hot and fresh, complete with some delicious olive oil to dip. We have been here twice. Have a mix of fried appetizers, clams before, two pastas and pizzas. Pizza is deliciously thin crust and you will leave here full. We did not get meatballs but they were HUGE when we saw others ordering them - wow! Called the day before (I'm aware it's last minute) Valentine's Day inquiring if they could fit a 2/14 reservation for two at 5:00pm, I WAS told that only groups of 4 can make reservations and accepted same. Dined there on Tuesday with a good friend and loved the avocado walnut salad with grilled shrimp. The shrimp was the highlight of the meal seasoned perfectly paired with greens, walnuts, dried cranberries and goat cheese. I was a little disappointed only with the goat cheese because it was fried into little balls. I was hoping for some fresh goat cheese on the salad, but that wasn't a deal changer. Claudio Bueti moved to Brooklyn in 1973 from his home in Calabria, a region in southern Italy. That's when he opened his first restaurant, and he's been cooking family recipes in kitchens ever since. Over the past 40 years, he's owned six pizzerias in New York City. The wife was in the area Saturday so we decided to get some take out and finally give them a try. Called right at opening and we're told only 20 minutes. We ordered a large regular pizza with pepperoni and meatballs and a chicken beuschetta hoagie. Food was ready when my wife arrive. We dug in when she got home and even though it was a 30 minute drive, the good was still awesome. The sub was great, thin, tender chicken cutlet, breaded and fried perfectly, perfect sub roll, and the bruschetta was delicious. We absolutely loved the pizza. Probably one of the best pizzas we've had in CNY. Crust was the perfect thickness, cooked perfectly, the sauce had a great taste that I haven't found at any other pizzerias in town, and I loved the meatballs. They had a perfect, firm texture, not just like loose ground beef, and were sliced thin instead of just halved which I really liked. My grandparents moved to Oswego from southern Italy so I grew up with authentic Italian food. This is the best Italian food I have had in CNY. I had the spicy calimari appetizer. Loved it! Also had the meatball parmigiana sandwich. Phenomenal! Had enough for leftovers. Meatball was fabulous. Crusty Italian bread was wonderful. Their sauce is the best sauce I have had at a restaurant. Just right balance of ingredients. I know they make most of that fresh in house. My wife got linguine shrimp fra diavolo. She said it was fantastic. They brought out some hot, just out of the oven breadsticks, and a dipping oil. I absolutely loved it. At the end of the meal we enjoyed cannoli. This place was hopping on Saturday night around 6pm. My friend was told a 45 minute wait for our party of two, but it was closer to 30 minutes which was a welcome change. There exterior sign needs to be bigger. I hadn't had to shop at the John Glen plaza for a long time, and I just couldn't make out the tiny lettering from 57 as to what the name of the restaurant was. The plaza should also have their new restaurant on their road signs so us 40 somethings can see it. Can I just say, I love the lemon theme? The yellow and green colors, along with lemons, just brightens a place up. Classy and cheery! The kitchen in my home is lemon-themed! We were sat at a small booth and our server let us know right away that she'd be back. We both ordered a glass of wine (riesling for me and red for my friend - her first two choices were sold out, but no worries). We were just glad to get out! The fried calamari appetizer both sounded good to us, so we started off with that. Being seafood lovers, we both had eyed the Shrimp Fra Diavolo pictures on Yelp beforehand, and were pretty much set on ordering that. A basket of warm bread (roughly the shape of Lady Fingers dessert) was accompanied by oil and some garlic and red pepper (could have used more seasoning or some on the side to add as we wish). The bread was delicious and you could tell had just came out of the oven. We asked for a refill on the bread and they were glad to oblige. This time they came out a good amount longer and thinner, just adding to the character of the place. When the fried calamari was served, I got a big ole whiff of seafood. Not the most pleasant, as usually they shouldn't smell too much. Our first impression was that they were thinner calamari rings than usual. No intense seafood smell was noted while eating, but we both thought they tasted a little funny. Not in a seafood gone bad way, but not the usual fried calamari taste. We both hoped we weren't going to be sick later on, and that held true. The Shrimp Fra Diavolos were delivered to the table one over, but no biggie. They were piping hot and had a good spiciness to it. We requested some parmesan cheese. It arrived in a shaker and balanced the dish out. Eventually, in combination with the glass of wine, it made my face a bit flush. Just as a previous diner had said, good big size shrimp. I would have preferred to have the tails off, so as not to messy my fingers, but makes for a better presentation. The portion was large with a big amount of pasta; enough to take some home to share with my kids (which they loved the leftover pasta and piece of bread). My daughter says she wants to eat at the restaurant with me next time! Though we were getting full, we dared to look at the dessert menu. We both thought the limoncello sponge cake sounded good, so we chose to share that. OMG - it did not disappoint! This was amazing! Creamy, with a perfect light lemony taste, not overpowering. The sponge cake was airy and an excellent compliment to the filling. We could eat this every day! Get it! The restaurant was well staffed. Other workers, passing our table, asked how we were doing and you could tell they wanted us to be happy. Our waitress was friendly and checked on us frequently. She was very efficient and busy, sometimes walking away while we were starting to ask for something. Overall, great service though. They were busy, trying hard, and had smiles on their faces. I'll be back again. I want to try their Eggplant Rollatini, Fried Mozzarella, Avocado Salad, meatballs, and their pizza (their pizza takeout boxes are so cute with their lemon theme)! A few days ago we had slices from Il Limone Liverpool for lunch. We thought they were top notch. For dinner my son and his wife wanted to give them a try. So we picked up a to go, and brought it to them to try. They agreed!! Qualita Excellente! We tried both the 18" cheese, and the 18" "Alla Vincent ". Sautéed broccoli rabe and sausage toppings. I hate that the pizza box ride softens the crust though. A quick blast in the oven remedies that. Awesome big slice goodness! Check em out!!! read more

I've seen so many posts about this place and it's right down the road from me, so decided to try it out on a Friday night when I didn't feel like cooking. The chicken francaise had a nice lemon flavor and was a decent portion that provided lunch for the next day as well. My husband ordered chicken riggies. Not as big of a portion as we are used to seeing at Italian restaurants and they weren't spicy. The flavor was good though! We will have to eat at the restaurant next time to compare to the takeout. Our friends reserved a table for 8 on NYE 2023/4 Staff and owners were very friendly and accommodating and catered to our every need with a smile. We heard Claudio's Classic Lasagna $19.14 was quite possibly the best lasagna I would ever. We also heard about the Limoncello Cake $6.95 Both lived up to the expectations. Remarkable and are highly recommended. Our meals included the Shrimp Fra Diavolo $22.95 Not too hot (spicy) but just right and plentiful. Again, outstanding. This was our 1st time but will most certainly not be our last. Big thanks to our good friends for the invite. The food and service were spectacular, food was made-to-order and we can't wait to go back, or at least try out their pizza options. Ordered take out. Got a large cheese pizza and an order of wings. The star was the pizza. It was very good. Could have use a little bit longer on the cook, next time I will ask for it well done. The wings were not very good at all. It's my fault, this isn't a traditional pizza shop, I can't imagine wings are their thing. I have been wanting to try this place based on the buzz and the yelp reviews I have read. I don't know which Stood out more the food or the service. Our waitress was terrific and very attentive. We arrived at 3 PM on a Wednesday and were one of the few diners. This must be a good time to come because I understand there can be a wait for tables later on. Our waitress started us out with warm bread and a garlicky olive oil dipping sauce. For a main, I ordered the seafood and linguine with the white sauce. I also ordered a side salad. The side salad was huge and very inexpensive. The main course was full of fish. It contained shrimp, muscles, clams, calamari and actual chunks of fish. This dish was outstanding. My husband ordered the appetizer version of eggplant rollatini. It was a generous portion and he wound up taking one of the pieces home. My husband loved the sauce, which I guess is an outstanding fresh tasting sauce. Next time we go back for the pizza. read more
