They don't let you use the restrooms and are very rude about it. The place is next to the Tesla chargers, and there is nothing else around. You would think they might offer something to people who are charging their cars, like coffee, snacks, or lunchboxes. It shows a real lack of business sense. My stay was ok, but I felt they could do better. Clean uniforms, bathroom breaks for front desk staff, friendlier front desk people who simply acknowledge a person by saying "Welcome or Hello". I ended up leaving two days early due to the fires and smoke northwest of Yakima and when I checked out the woman could not have been more unfriendly. She had no questions about my stay, would I come back, did I enjoy it and why I was leaving early. And, I did not notice at the time, no receipt and no offer of a receipt. I have put in a call to the manager. Overall nice enough but small details like a lack of friendliness and warmth make a difference to me. read more

Made a reservation online for King size bed/room. During check in we were told they didnt have any. We were able to get the issue corrected in a reasonable manner. I would say the location of this place is what makes it. Looks like they may have done a little updating, but there is plenty more that could be done. Bathrooms are small, the refrigerator is just a tiny mini fridge that sets on the floor. It does have a pool and a hot tub, but they close at 9-which is kind of early...10 would be better. There is a workout area and vending machines. The continental breakfast was less that desirable in my opinion. I dont think that the rooms are worth what they charge--even with Wyndham Rewards. The river is what makes it for sure...beautiful and nice walking trail. read more

Stayed here for a conference in Yakima. Was a little alarmed by a sign indicating that you have to have an address that's at least 30 miles away from the hotel. Not sure what that was about, but it did stand out to me. The front line staff was friendly and helpful with dinner recommendations. The building looks dated and the inside needs a thorough cleaning and paint job. While the room was clean, it just felt like a "landlords special" was done. Each room does have a river view, and there is a solid breakfast included in the stay. read more

I've stayed here multiple times and it's been okay but this last time not so much, I kept getting accosted by the homeless hit me up for a smoke. And the whole area out back was so full of dog poop was ridiculous I could have spent an hour with a pooper scooper picking it all up so I booked a room I asked for just a queen bed and I ended up with a Queen Suite which I didn't want but I ended up paying $185 for it it's like wow that's a bit much. So the next day I moved rooms and then I thought nah still just start knocking on my door again so I went over to my place by Sarge Hubbard Park where they actually had a fenced in area in the back that face the river and it was super and they allow pets and it was clean and the bed was comfy that'll be my new stop read more

We had about 15 rooms last weekend and each and every one of us got a huge amount of flee bites and they are still all over our bodies. It's gross and almost looks like we all got chicken pox it's that bad! A few of us has some larger bites (almost welts) so not sure what else went snacking on our skin as we slept. Walls are cardboard thin! I was on third floor; from 9:30 pm until 12:30 am, the room above had a tenant with heavy footsteps, rolling chair across the floor. Called front office at 11:30; noise persisted. 12:00, got dressed and went front office to complain vis-a-vis; still persisted. 12:30, called again, complained and asked for a room. "Sorry, all booked up". Noise until 1:30 am. Could hear the person snoring in the room adjacent. Thin walls! Had a horrid nights sleep Homeless people: exterior exit door blocked by a man hunched over, either retching, or, passed out. At midnight, when I went down to the front desk about the issue above, a homeless woman was sitting in a chair in the lobby!! Coffee pot: missing the pod tray. Called front office, who said they would replace the coffee pot. They didn't. Look for the canned response from the hotel, below. read more

Nice river view rooms. Our room was small, but fine for one night stay. If you are outside or open the sliding glass door you are knocked down by the smell of burnt grease from Burger King next door - so gross! Smoker upstairs went out for a smoke every 40mi. until 2:30am. They banded open the slider everyone going out and coming back in. Panhandling in the parking lot. I told front desk in the morning. They said oh you should of came down here in the middle of the night to tell us. I've done that before at other hotels and nothing is ever solved. I got three hour sleep and had to go to a work event. read more

I have been staying here for a couple months now as I acclimate to the area - and overall I am very very happy. Beautiful views, and the rooms all face the River. This was a very nice room, and I particularly appreciated that there was laminate flooring rather than carpet which I think is much easier to keep clean. The bed was comfortable, the shower was good and handicap accessible. We had a river view and a little patio with a couple chairs we did not take advantage of. The breakfast was good and included hot scrambled eggs and link sausages, yogurt, fruit, juices, bagels and muffins with cream cheese and peanut butter, pancakes or waffles. Out the door for $92- Super clean room, nice chair with footrest- Great views of the river&paved trail- Pool and hot tub looked nice although I was more in need of a nap- Nice staff and legit orange juice out of the machine which is rare. Normally i wouldn't post something like this but i feel this needs to be said. I tried booking this hotel recently. It was booked and confirmed fir the day in question. The morning of the reservation they called and said they are cancelling my reservation because i reside within 30 miles of this hotel. When i talked to them they said they were having "trouble" with locals bothering their own of town guests. To me this seems a little excessive. 30 miles encompasses a lot of small towns in my area. Granted they did say they would try to make an exemption for me with manager approval. Plus i would not be charged for this stay. Now if locals were causing issues at this hotel, like they claim. You blackball them individually and not s blanket 30 mile ban on reservations. In the end, the hotel can do what it wants but if it had been an emergency and they pulled this, would have been very inconvenient. read more

This was my first visit to the Baymont by Wyndham in Yakima. This location used to be Coast hotel and recently is under new management. The staff seems to be the same as it was before in the rooms appear to be very much the same as well. New branding is evident throughout the hotel including the room numbers. And we were told that our beds have new mattresses and Cleanliness is still very evident here and the ambience is fantastic being right next to the river. This Hotel does have in room coffee makers with Starbucks coffee available. Two packages of regular coffee and two packages of decaf as well as some fine quality tea ready for use. There is also a mini fridge and microwave in the rooms as well. They also offer a free breakfast in the morning and the new management insist that they are upgrading the breakfast selection. However I will be leaving before breakfast is served so will have to save that experience for the next time read more

There will be no stars given for the Baymont hotel in Yakima. Upon arriving at the Baymont Hotel, 3-23-19, and checking into our room. There was a dead cockroach laying on the hardwood floor next to the bed. After carefully, moving out the nightstand one more cockroach was discovered dead laying on the floor we immediately checked out and got our money back...... Ps. In case you don't know cockroaches come out at night and if your suitcases are left on the floor unopened or even an open to all they can go into your suitcases and then you can transfer them home and infest your whole house. read more

Easy to find off freeway, but rooms on back overlooking the river so no freeway noise. Tony worked with us to get a room near the elevator, as both disabled vets, hard to walk very far. Outdated furnishings, but room has been recently refurbished. Great lighting, comfortable seating. Designated as a "handicapped" room, appreciated the higher granite counter top, the higher toilet and the roll-in/walk-in shower. Unfortunately, worst soft bed we have ever slept in; not good for bad backs. Husband slept in a trench no matter what side he tried. Great breakfast, real eggs, hot sausage, pastries and good coffee. read more

I booked a room through Booking.com for last night. I specifically chose the room because it said I would be able to pay at check in and could cancel for free within 24 hours of check in. The hotel called me several times to tell me that my card had been declined. I initially assumed that they had made an error and would sort it out. They then called to tell me that my reservation had been cancelled for lack of payment. I got this message Wednesday while at work. Wednesday evening I discovered that the my had charged my card. I immediately called to check on what was going on. The receptionist, Chelsea, was extremely rude and told me that they'd messaged me through booking.com to let me know they'd billed my card. Odd...that's a method they hadn't used to notify me of a cancellation, but opted for that method when they chose to let me know that money would be coming out of my account. They never tried by phone. I decided to just keep the room rather than find another. The next morning, the funds had been returned to my account, despite having confirmed with them the day before that I'd paid for the room, and would be staying with them. I called again. Another rude receptionist who chose not to share his name. I asked if I had a room. He said I still had a reservation. I asked why funds had been returned to my card. He was unable to answer. I told him I'd like to cancel my room. He told me that he'd have to bill me for the cost of the room. When I sited the cancellation policy from the website, he told me I'd have to contact booking.com, he couldn't help me and essentially hung up. I contacted booking.com. I believed that things had been sorted out. This morning, I discovered that my card had been charged for the room. In fairness, the ball could have been dropped by booking.com, or the hotel. I believe both. Between their failure to comply with the policies that they have posted with their booking partner, the EXTREMELY unprofessional and unhelpful staff, the back and forth of "you have a reservation, we cancelled, no, you have a reservation" and the general shadiness of "we'll call you to cancel, but not to tell you that funds will be withdrawn" I'm extremely disappointed and frustrated. I was very excited for this trip, and the headache and financial hassle have not been worth it. Shame on you and booking.com. You are online predators and you should be ashsamed. read more

My husband, daughter and I stayed at this hotel last weekend for a three-day Softball tournament. We arrived very late our first night and the check-in process was quick and easy, the front desk gal was pleasant. Our room was clean and tidy, and for the price the view was amazing! Our team had an early game on Saturday and had to leave by 7am. The breakfast staff started the breakfast service 30 minutes early to accommodate out team and make sure they had fresh eggs and biscuits & gravy in addition to the Belgian waffles, fresh fruit, yogurt, bagels/cream cheese, muffins, cereals, apple juice, orange juice and fresh coffee before they left for the tournament. The outdoor patio with barbecue and pool was fantastic to host our family barbecue potluck. The cleaning staff was very accommodating as well and provided extra towels and stocked our coffee station with extra coffee as both my husband and I are heavy coffee drinkers. I will definitely stay at this hotel again in the future. read more

I have stayed at quite a few hotels across the usa and I can say that this particular one is worth every penny. All of the staff are incredibly kind and very helpful with explaining the local area as well as accommodating to my stay. The hotel itself has the Yakima river flowing behind it with an extremely long paved Greenway. This is quite the treat because most places do not offer such a thing. It is also in a perfect location for the local area as it is right near the downtown and multi interstate exchange. read more
