First time ordering crawfish here - Kept seeing them recommended in the Asian Grub Facebook. Knew it was time to try it! When we got there, the line was super long; wrapped around to almost to their fountain drinks. After about 20 minutes or so waiting in line, we ordered 6 lbs of crawfish, corn, sausage, fries, and side of butter. They were running a Wednesday special deal - buy 3lbs for $17. Crawfish was flavorful! The butter was worth the 50cent and the corn was buttery. The sausage was plain and do not recommend getting the fries. Overall, will be coming back here! read more

Heard from my mom that it would be great.. however, everything we ordered was gross (the recipe & pictures of food are below). What I didn't post was the seafood gumbo -- I kid you not, I only had 1 shrimp, 2 pieces of chicken & some chicken fat. My mom ordered red beans & rice... It just looked & tasted weird. The catfish was full of crust, probably wasn't catfish & the lemon pepper wings were overcooked & under-seasoned. My cousin said they only good for the crawfish. So, tread lightly with this place. Listen Bayou Cat has done it AGAIN!!! Sunday I stopped by to get my usual 2 catfish fillets basket, but as I stood there I was like , let me get ...one pig feet , I haven't had pig feet since I was a little girl.. so I gets home set up my area to eat , gets my wet one cause you know pigs feet is sticky , I opens my bag and to my surprise I had two whole nice looking pigs feet, I bit into it and LAWD!!!! New Orleans native review: First off, thank you Bayou Cat for Big Shot and Chee-Weez and having a good selection of both! Bless y'all for that! The po boys are good. I tried both the shrimp and oyster. They were cooked right and with good quality ingredients and came out fresh. The flavor was good but no kick. They used plain breadcrumbs instead of seasoned, and mayo instead of roumalade. The lettuce and tomato were fresh and cut right, right amount of pickles, and the bread was good. They even wrapped and cut it right! Nothing a little hot sauce won't fix. The turkey neck and pigs feet were cooked right (these you pretty much can't overcook they just get more tender amd flavorful), and the flavor was right, though mild to a New Orleanian. The sausage was good, fresh and the right portion, same for the corn. The fries were good but plain salt rather than seasoned. The boiled seafood is going to be hit and miss at Bayou Cat. The flavor was good. The shrimp was boiled right (which is super hard to find in Texas), but getting left on a warmer tray until it was ordered made it a mushy overcooked mess. Shrimp cook so quickly that you really should wait until someone orders it to cook it. I would rather wait for good shrimp than wait for leftovers that I won't want to order again. Right idea - wrong process. Fix that and I will happily y'all give a fifth star. Overall, it's pretty close to home, but on the mild side. read more

Back in 2019 I came here I was a little disappointed with the crawfish boil. Recent years, it's been on point. Service is quick. Grab a table and clean after yourself. The workers are all nice, young adults. Last year, I took the leftover crawfish and king cake back to California and I shared it with my husband's coworkers. They all loved it. This year, my husband sent me a mission to bring some Bayou Cat goods back to California again but this time 5 pounds of crawfish and 3 boxes of king cake. I don't know how I did it solo but I did it. They sell out often but I'm so happy that I got everything that night. The Uber rides was worth it, the hassle of lugging it around the airports was worth it. I'm so glad they have a FB page that you can see their updates. I waited over 30 minutes for some extra dirty crawfish, mushy boiled shrimp, and crab legs as I watched people who ordered the same - but came after me - leave minutes before I did. Before even walking into the place you can smell the amazing food being cooked/fried that's how I knew it was going to be a great place to eat. The line is long but the food comes quick. Whether you are eating in or not, I the food comes packed to go. We ordered shrimp oyster and catfish basket and the flavor was such that it all taste the same. There was no distinction between the three items.... Maybe because they need to change the oil more frequently.
