Went here for lunch on a Monday with 2 kids to avoid a huge crowd. Very spacious location and friendly staff. The beef pho was really good, kid approved. The bowls are the size of a kids size bowl if you were to go to any other pho restaurant.. The hot bar had a lot of other options like spring rolls, crab rangoons, dumplings, calamari, noodles, fried rice, crab legs, and congee. I wasn't too fond of the hot bar just because everything was cold yet still super oily. Maybe get a hotter heating lamp? The dessert area had a lot of options as well. I really liked the raspberry cookies and fruit tarts. There is also a refrigerator that has Thai tea and a delicious pandan refresher. Overall, great concept but not somewhere I'd be craving to go. I had heard a lot of great things about this Vietnamese buffet when it first opened, but I didn't get a chance to visit until about a year later. From what I've heard, the variety and selection have decreased compared to the grand opening period, which was a little disappointing. They still offer some traditional home-style Vietnamese dishes that you don't typically find at other buffets, and I appreciated being able to try foods that reminded me of homemade meals rather than the usual buffet fare. However, the overall experience felt lacking, especially considering the price at the time of my visit. The food selection was more limited than expected, and the value didn't quite match the cost. I so wanted to love this place. I'm pretty sure as with anyone who has been to Kim Son in Houston I wanted this place to be as good or better to fill that void. It's a pretty large place and the decor is very modern and clean. We were seated promptly and went off to explore the buffet offerings. Lots of traditional Viet dishes which was nice to see. There's also a made to order noodle soup station along with a toppings bar. A grill station was beside that and also a dessert station on the other end. To sum it up, the food was just ok. I found many dishes to be on the sweet side. Eggrolls..sweet, cha chung...sweet, goi/salad...cloyingly sweet. But hey, the desserts were not, so that was good. I love chao long but found theirs just ok. Bun rieu was bland. The chicken in the curry was overcooked and stringy. Service was great. There was always someone picking up dishes and dropping off napkins. But, they ran out of chopsticks shortly after we arrived. I ate my bun rieu with a fork lol. A lot of people mentioned paying up front. On the day I went, we paid at the end. And I think only certain drinks like tea and water are included but sodas are extra. This was my first time tryin an all you can eat Vietnamese buffet and i did really enjoy it. I am of Mexican decent so i am not fa milI remember when it first open and the lines were so long that I decided to wait till the hype died down. This restaurant is inside Asia time square so its very popular regarless time or day but on the weekends its extra busy since they have all you can eat lobster and snow crab legs. I was in Hong Kong market one day and decided to stop by viet and they mentioned they were having a $22 special on tuesdays and thursdays only. I decided to come back on thursday to try it and i got there around 6pm on a thursday afternoon. The cashier did inform me that all payments must be paid before being seated. Parties of 6 or more get gratuity automatically added. The drinks (sodas and teas) come included in the price but they do sell additional drinks for an extra charge. I started with the soup section, they have a menu posted of the soups they are offering and I only knew like 3 of them but that did not stop me from trying them out. My favorite one was the spicy beef, the other one i tried was the #10 seafood and it was fine but it could have used more broth and less noodles. At the end of the soup line they had the sauce station and you can make your own. There were a few people that were cutting in line but the line move somewhat quick. I cant imagine how its like on the weekends when its packed. The grill station had squid, pork, corn and some kind of brisket or sliced meat. The meat was not that good honestly because when i got back to my table it was cold and it had a lot of fat on it. The next station over had potatoes and dumplings i believe. Then the next part i remember is where the sushi bake was and it was very good. I did get to try the salt and pepper crab and they were good since i got them hot off the stove. I tried a couple of other dishes and I was not familiar witi h them but they were not bad but i dont think i would try them again. I did not get a chance to try some of the soups as i was already full and wanted to try the pastries. I went over to see what they had and I saw they had sugar cane water! If i had know they had this earlier when i arrived i would be getting as much of that water as possible! If you never had it before it is delicious but also very expensive to get on its own. The pastries were as delicious as they look. They had some kind of squishy bread that look like matcha and taro but it could use some more sweetness to it. Later I found out you can put that condense milk on it and it makes it super delicious. They also had some bean custard in the cups and something that tasted like banana pudding and that was very yummy. I was there for about two hours and i did see a lot of people outside waiting to come in. The staff here was great, they were busy cleaning tables and refilling drinks. My waiter was constantly refilling my drink and he did not mind when i asked questions about what was the food I was eating. I would like to come back once on the weekend to try the seafood but I would not mind coming back during lunch one of these days. I did speak to this girl in line at the pastry station saying she drove all the way from Frisco just to try the restaurant! wow! dedication right there! Ambiance: This restaurant is larger than I expected. There are plenty of tables available for various group sizes. The restaurant is bright and very clean. I love that there are servers at every buffet station so people aren't unhygienically serving themselves. This is also the restaurant's way to control the portion people can scoop onto their plate, I'd imagine! Service: You pay the tips upfront when you pay for your meal, which is odd. I was a bit disappointed in our server because he did not come often to check if we needed any additional refreshments! On my Sunday evening visit, the place was packed and full of Asian people (a sign of good food) wanting to eat legit Vietnamese cuisine. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (3 Stars if you care about service and atmosphere) Atmosphere - Viet Voyage Buffet reminds me of a grand buffet you'd find in Las Vegas. It's well-lit with tons of "my people". It's super packed and the tables are close to each other, so it can be quite a trip going from one side to another. But there is an army of staff members who will roam the dining room to clear plates. Each section (center with Vietnamese dishes, grill, dessert station) had very helpful staff members. Food - There are so many Vietnamese dishes (and I didn't take good photos), so I'll list the items that I really enjoyed. I haven't been to any Vietnamese buffet in the DFW area. Arriving hungry on a Saturday around 3pm, we were seated right away. In fact, there were plenty of tables available. The server grabbed our drinks immediately, then pretty much left us alone the entire dining service. They were good at clearing out the empty plates. However, some of the older workers were not keen on serving food behind the buffet bar. My husband waited a good minute before someone grabbed him the soup he was waiting on. Since we went on a weekend, it's $42.95 per person. I surely didn't make use of that since I don't eat a lot of the premium items they included: lobster, crab, steak, etc. Let's just say the crab was a little lackluster; it was steamed with little nuance of flavoring. The seafood needs to be marinated a little more. There also wasn't enough grilled items. My usually favorites are the Vietnamese pancakes (banh khot and banh xeo) were super dry and a little disappointing. The dessert display could be presented a little better to make it more appealing/appetizing. Went here for soft opening and the staff was very friendly! They were probably not expecting the amount of crowds for their 2nd day of soft opening so bare with them as they work through their grand opening preparations. This is located inside Asia Times Square in the old Bistro B location. Parking is in the same shopping complex and you enter the restaurant from the inside of the shopping center. Our wait at check-in was about 30 minutes but note that they will not seat you without the entire party. Payment is required before being seated and they ask that you only dine for maximum of 2 hours since it does get crowded. Large groups with be automatically charged for gratuity. The decor is really modern and nice! There is seating inside and "outside" with a wait staff walking by to pick up empty plates, provide napkins, get drink orders, etc. One drawback is with the amount of space, there is very limited number of bathrooms (only 3 stalls which were unisex) and the light in the stalls weren't working. Luckily in the shopping complex there are nearby restrooms available. Food variety is pretty good for a buffet and pricing is somewhat on par with the other AYCE locations in the same shopping complex. They have several options of soups, entrees, skewers that were essentially cooked to order so a bit of a wait, and a few desserts. For the crowds, the quality of the food wasn't bad but hopefully when the hype dies down, they can hone in on the quality and maybe rotate options every so often. They offer a lot of home style meals which is a pleasant surprise along with special items you wouldn't usually eat. Prices range for weekday lunch/dinner and weekends but you do get prime rib, lobster, and crab during the weekends. Layout could use some work, the chairs make it a little cramped and hard to maneuver with everyone trying to get to the actual food lines but the atmosphere is very nice. Service is pretty good, staff is very helpful and attentive. For the only vietnamese buffet in DFW I think viet voyage is an excellent choice. My wife found this place and really wanted to try this. I had to convince her to go as this place is 50 minutes away from the house. We went for the weekend buffet which includes the premium meats. Believe it or not, I thought this buffet was going to be crowded and a long wait, but it was not as we waited for 10 minutes to pay for our meal. We went at 1pm on grand opening weekend and only water 15 minutes in line. Although the layout of the restaurant is not cohesive for a buffet, the service is quick. The there are servers at each station to place food on your plate for portion control which makes it more sanitary. The lobster, beef salad & ribeye were my favorites. Viet voyage is a must try. We were greeted by a sweet hostess (pre-pay before you eat) and our server was Kevin who took excellent care of us and was very attentive. We enjoyed trying dishes that we were familiar with and also trying new dishes. My favorite was the little crepe cups with shrimp in it. Great service & variety but food temperature needs work. I don't usually shout out constructive feedback like this but I really have high hopes for Viet Voyage and plan to update my review during next visit! We love the variety of Vietnamese dishes here and are excited to come back as the team ramps up. So happy for them as they opened last month. Highlights The Galbi meat grilled over the fire, the Canh Chua, Banh Cuon, and other soups were very authentic and nostalgic. Seasoning across most dishes was spot on and very warming. Opportunities for Improvement The biggest miss was temperature. Many items were served room temp or even cool. This is usually not okay with us, total health violation. The overhead lights didn't seem like heat lamps, and with low Thursday evening traffic, food sat longer than normal. Servers scooped from the top rather than the warmer bottom layers, so dishes lost heat. When I mentioned it, the staff did start mixing items to help, which I really appreciated and I'm sure other customers are as well. I was especially disappointed to try the Oc Huong cold, it just didn't feel right since it's seafood. Some of the signs were wrong as well and didn't match with the dishes. I did mention to the younger kitchen staff that the dishes did not match but they didn't understand (language barrier, I was speaking Vietnamese lol but switched back to English) will likely gain more experience, but for now it's a clear area to tighten up. Soup Bar Service was quick and straightforward no fuss, no frills. Portions are just right, making it easy to sample a couple of the other noodle soups on the menu. Dessert Bar The dessert bar was our favorite part Sua Chua, taro, beans, and more, all not too sweet and plentiful. The setup could use a huge facelift or redesign to match the quality of the desserts themselves or the other hot dishes display. The dessert pulled the score up to a 3 star for me. Extras Clean bathrooms, plenty of parking, and lots of indoor seating. One small note: there was a taller younger gentleman walking around in the back without a uniform, just a Tshirt. Not sure if he was a manager or an extra, but his presence felt a bit out of place. He was staring out at the customers most of the time but we are going to assume he is making sure we are enjoying the food. Felt uneasy but I'm sure it's for a good reason. Maybe lol. Completely harmless, just felt being watched. We truly want to see Viet Voyage thrive and look forward to updating this review once the food consistently arrives hot, or at least kept warm. Visited Viet Voyage Buffet on a weekday for dinner ($35/adult). The space is modern and spacious, but the dinner menu doesn't seem much different from lunch -- save yourself ~$10 and come earlier. Food variety is okay, but nothing really stood out. I was hoping this would fill the gap left by DaNang Souphouse, but it doesn't quite hit the mark. Compared to Houston's Kim Son Buffet, Viet Voyage falls short -- Kim Son has better pricing and a wider selection. You pay first before eating, and double-check your receipt -- I was mistakenly charged the weekend price ($42.95) and had to ask for a correction. Overall, it'll leave you full, but nothing memorable enough for me to rush back. Suggestions: (1) To relieve congestion at the toilet, install hand wash sink immediately outside the toilet or throughout restaurant. Avoid sink w large flat surface area as this doesn't drain well and looks gross when food debris accumulates. (2) To relieve the need for waitstaff, have self-service drink station and silverware/napkins. (3) Have waitstaff eat the food you're serving. If there's no love for the food and culture they shouldn't be working there. If they can't pronounce the name of the entree, they need to find employment elsewhere. We went there around 1115a, and still waited a good 20min before going in as they weren't ready yet. You do pay first, along with selecting your tip amount, which was a bit odd. The starting was 18%, and it goes up from there. And yes, you could deny or go custom, but like most people, I just choose whatever that's suggested @18%. Looks like most tables all have 4 to 6 chairs minimum as it was big restaurant..used to be Bistro B, or part of Bistro B as I believe it's much larger in size when they remodeled it. Food wise, it was more of an expensive Asian buffet as they do have little or everything. Given the weekend price, you better like seafood to get yours $$ worth. Crab was typical, which means it involves lots of work for little meat, but the lobster was decent and flavorful as I went back for 2nds. The other stuff were just typical. 1 tip I would offer is to use the plastic gloves, which we didn't know about it until after lunch. Also, for the size (max 222) posted by the front door, they only have 3 private bathrooms that you have to lock it when you go in while everyone else wait outside with some chairs. Would be nice if they just have standard bathrooms. So soda is free, but all other drinks are extra. would not come back. the adult price is $35 (not worth it) and we were seated almost immediately. my expectations were very high because the interior was beautiful. however, i noticed the quality of the food immediately. the food was in small trays, similar to aluminum trays at a party. some even had saran wrap covering the bottom of the pan. the food selection is very diverse, with ban bot loc, orange chicken, kbbq and even sushi bake. the taste was very bland and disappointing, and the food was lukewarm, like it had been sitting out for a very long time. we ordered pho and bun bo hue with just the noodles. the meatball in the pho tasted like it was old and frozen and the bowls were extremely small, about the size of my hand. the staff were very sweet and always came by our table to clean and check up. if we needed anything they brought it to us right away. read more

We came here for a family dinner. It was a Saturday afternoon. We were seated right away. There were 4 different stations: soup bar, seafood & BBQ, street food and desserts. The bun bo hue was good not super flavorful. I also got crabs, grilled pork bun, bo la loc, banh xeo, shrimps and clams. The crabs were such a disappointment. They were so mushy and lack of flavor. The shrimps were much better. Also, the banh xeo was too oily and overcooked to the point that it was hard to chew. Bo la loc had good flavor but meat was bad quality and had a lot fat. The clams were whatever. However, the grilled pork buns were so good. The seasoning and everything were perfect. Overall, it was an okay experience. I probably will come back again to try different dishes that I did not have a chance to. I am just happy there is a Vietnamese buffet in DFW. read more

i was really excited to hear that a viet buffet opened in dfw. seems like they were inspired by kim son's success in houston. i've also been to kim son a few years ago for my bday dinner. they had a variety of traditional viet dishes ranging from bánh xèo, bánh bột lọc, óc, canh chua, bún riêu, etc. there was also many different types of chè. some of the dishes were dry and over cooked which was disappointing. i also feel like they had less variety than kim son. some of the best dishes i had were the bun rieu, oc, canh chua, sugarcane juice. they were flavorful and umami without being over seasoned and tasted fresh. the sugarcane juice was sweet and refreshing. the service was wonderful. i was trying to get more oc at the counter but they ran out. i mentioned to the girl behind the counter that my whole fam loved their oc. she said she can have the chef make some more for us before they closed and delivered on that. it was super sweet! read more

Surprisingly impressive for a Vietnamese buffet! The best part is the soup station with 8 different noodle soups--from phở and bún bò huế to bún mắm and cháo lòng. You can't find that variety anywhere else. The hot bar has authentic home-style dishes like caramelized catfish, pork stew, curry chicken, and even fresh baguette to dip. Some trays looked a little messy or low at times, but flavors were solid. Dessert section was a big win--Vietnamese yogurt, chè, banana cream, fruit cups, and more, all neatly presented.
