This course is in my home town and I normally only play there because my brothers play there. It has some scenic holes and it has horrible looking holes. Overall, it is challenging. During the hot summer months, it is not so bad as there is wind off the water. No issues so far with the clubhouse. Very affordable based on what I am accustomed to in Atlanta, GA. read more

I typically don't leave reviews, but I was very disappointed with the clubhouse check in guy and the lack of safety precautions during this COVID pandemic. Even though the clubhouse had signs saying one person per cart due to the COVID pandemic, the course required you to share a cart even if you weren't in the same house hold. I requested a separate cart and was charged an extra $15 on top of the $39 I paid to play. I mentioned that I knew this wasn't his rule and requested his boss's information, so I could share my concern. He ignored my request after I asked three times and threatened to kick me off the course before mentioning I could call the city of Texas city or the Mayor about my concern. Outside of this horrible experience with personnel, the course itself was a decent beginner course. I'd still recommend any other course in the state of Texas until they take a look at the people they employ or Covid is 100% gone. Don't risk your health or your loved one's health. read more

Bayou Golf Course is certainly not the best place to play, but it's good enough for someone who is not super skilled and needs practice. Course is pretty muddy and looks a little rough in some areas, but the putting greens are in pretty good shape and are challenging. The cart girls came around pretty frequently ,had a good variety of refreshments, and where very friendly. The guy at the front desk was friendly and had my golf cart keys and receipt ready for me when I walked in since I used a golf now pass. Overall a good experience. read more

Arrived at 4:30 to set a start time and when asked if I can do through app the young guy freaked out. He mentioned booked till 5;30pm so asked if I can book online for after and he was pissed. Pearland and others have been very nice when i booked through app even in person. No wonder such low ratings. read more

I love this place the layout is nice and the greens are incredible. Only problem is that many people who golf here and beginners and every time I visit I almost get hit by other peoples golf balls. The fairways are narrow so this is not a course for people who have never played before. If you are that new to the game please go somewhere else and practice before golfing here. read more

Fun layout and course. Several fairways on the front 9 are dead from salt water flooding. They should have dug more ponds to put more dirt in low lying landing areas. Greens were somewhat bumpy since the grass hasn't really started growing much yet. Back 9 was much better condition than the front. We payed twilight rates and it is a great value. Also great value from the beverage cart with sodas and water only costing $1. Fun place to play a round! read more

Played Bayou GC for the 2nd time last Saturday and was better than the 1st time. Course was in great shape. Greens were smooth and rolled true. Just a fyi, subtle breaks in the greens make them tough to read. Fairways and tee boxes were also well maintained. Pace of play was great and I was actually shocked of how little traffic was actually in the course. I will definitely be back. Only complaint was the grill was off due to how few people were playing. Hey, its Texas City. You don't come down here and expect Augusta National, but if your just a beginner or a weekend hacker, and looking for a golf course to pad your handi cap, this is your place. With fairways as wide as Texas and small trees, you should have no problem finding your ball. The green speeds are medium speed on a good day and only speed up once that hot Texas sun starts to dry out the ground during the summer. The sign in front of the club house makes it clear that your shirts have to have sleeves. Yah I said sleeves not collars. Its not uncommon to see a guy who's taking the day off from workin at the refinery, out here with a cigarette in his lips, wrangler jeans on and shooting an 85. All that said, while the course is pretty flat and some holes take you pretty close to I-45, its still a pretty well kept course. The greens stay that way, even in the winter (unlike some courses in the area), and you can tell that the greens keeper takes pride in his job. Again, your never going to see it on the tour but hey, its Texas City. Enjoy. read more

Only complaint I have is the staff is rude and basically make you feel like your a problem for being in the club house! I played this golf course for the first time and had a good experience besides the female bartender being rude and expecting a tip for good service. After doing some investigating I found out she ripped my buddy of for $6 or so and kept it as a tip I'd imagine. No receipt of course. Then she charged me $3.25 for a Gatorade when they are only $3 to get to get a .75 cent tip out of me. That didn't work cause she didn't deserve it. I hope this girl changes ur ways or gets fired due to sterling and ripping the golfers out. This place has potential, but right now I'm not sure how they are even charging people green fees. I'm a few months time, I played mid April, it should be nice. The greens had just been sand, but the broccoli patches all over the green I just don't under stand. It was like putting on the "plinko" board, you never knew which way your ball was going to hop! The design and layouts of the greens seemed really nice, but right now you can't truly putt on them. I'm willing to give it another shot in a few months once the greens have had time to grow and hopefully well taken care of. read more

i can't belive this place even gets one star. i wouldn't even give it a quarter. although i did wast $ 36.00 dollars today. if you are beginner than i could see playing it, but there are other courses you can play and might learn something. fairways are terrible, greens not much better, with carts driving all over the place looking for there balls. oh yeah, make sure you take cover on the fairways from golfers behind you that don't mind holding you up but they don't like when its done to them becuase you are waiting on the group of 5 playing ahead of you and 5 in front of them and 2 groups of 5 playing behind you. dont try going around one of them or they will cuss you out. don't bother telling the Marshall. he will just tell to have a HAPPY Thanksgiving. played 11 holes 3 of which i skipped and left, only took close to 3 hrs. im only giving them 1 star because i have to. read more
