This place doesn't even exist. We drove here just now from Santee. Only to find out this place is not even in the said address.

    Combo fish and shrimp

Got the combo catfish and shrimp plate to go. Cornmeal breading was light and crispy, and everything was tasty. Not pictured is the cole slaw, and variety of sauces provided. I'm going to try the white fish next time!

So this storefront has been open for about 2months, but I understand the business has been doing catering for a few years. The fish and chips was great, crispy cornmeal coating and the fish was moist and tasty. The shoestring fries were good. The coleslaw that came with was interesting I think they used pickle juice which made for a good flavor, but it also made the coleslaw too wet. The Smokey Beef fries, well the fries were good, but the beef was way over salted and seemed to covering an over smoked meat making me wonder if they smoke their own beef or use something like liquid smoke. Fortunately those went to my husband who doctors everything. Finally the clam chowder, I'd pass on this. I did see the vegetable clam broth that they took away and added some milk product. not what one would expect for a Clam Chowder. I will say the portions were generous. The interior is not unpleasant, definitely speaks to take out and the gentleman who served me was the only one there and appeared a bit stressed. Certainly didn't give me that warm Southern feel that would make me come back. I will give them a few months to settle in.

The seasoned breading mix is out of this world. Excellent food for the location, they even had BBQ smoked to perfection.

This place is decieving on many levels and subverts expectations in the best way possible. Walking in you wouldn't think much. I was surprised by the tall ceilings; this place is not large in square footage but it doesn't feel cramped in any way. We opted for the online menu as it included pictures, though not on every item. Very reasonable prices for generous portions. Every dish was a winner, though some better than others in the minute details. The Hainanese Chicken Rice was tender and rich that the ginger sauce cut through, but the color was strikingly yellow. The Rotisserie Chicken Salad offered a welcome sight of veggies, though the chicken itself tasted like that straight from Costco. The Scallion Pancake was crispy on the edges, doughy in the center, and you only get one per order. The Shitake Mushroom Minced Pork had no drawbacks, and would come back just for this. Combining familiar flavors and spices, adding roasted vegetables and rice made this a complete meal! We were unbothered by the service staff the entire time until asking for the check, strange as we were the only two in the restaurant. However, with these minor setbacks, I will be coming back to try their noodles, soups, and desserts!

The meat on the bones was so tender, it fell right off of the bone. Their broth is so delicious. Don't forget to taste that before you put in that bomb ass house chili oil. And to all the Cambodians from a Cambodian, it tastes better than most of your momas house, j/k, but I'm not, lol. The chili oil sauce is spicy, but that's how I like it. And oh, that sugar cane drink completed the whole meal. It was good and not too sweet, just the way I like it. The owners were great. They were so sweet and welcoming. Don't forget to order some of their Chili oil house sauce for the house. I would definitely come back again if I am in the San Diego area. I highly recommend this place. This is the only place we love to go when we are craving for Pho. The ambiance is amazing and their staff are excellent in every aspect. We enjoy the food and drinks. Different selections of pho, favorite is the fillet mignon and the oxtail. Their bahn mi beef and bone marrow was an excellent recommendation by our server. For appetizers we always order the fried and egg rolls and spring rolls. For drinks always ordering the fresh coconut juice and jasmine tea. By the way, parking is not a problem, we always parked at the parking garage, $5 fee, and a walking distance to the restaurant.

HOM MALI BY THE NOOD BAR... update on update (4 stars)…read more Send me the noodz! The new-new nood bar called Hom Mali. - FOOD: delicious - PRICE: fair (their website shows outdated and cheaper prices) - SERVICE: good - AMBIANCE: nice updated esthetics It's been awhile since I've ate here and the last time I did it was just The Nood Bar now known as Hom Mali but still shows as The Nood Bar. They updated their decor and like it much better with its refreshing white and green interior giving south-east Asian vibes. The menu has quite a lot of good offerings it was hard to decide but feel not matter what you order here it's going to be delicious and authentic. They did keep several items from The Nood Bar! :: ORDER :: RED GUAVA ICE TEA ($5.95) - Oh my goodness, so yummy and refreshing. I'd say the caffeine level is very light on this one and I am ok with that. After stuffing my face I took a nice nap for someone who is caffeine sensitive. HIGHLY RECOMMEND GARLIC BUTTER NOODLES {$20.95) - Grilled lemongrass-marinated pork shoulder served over steamed soba noodles tossed with soy sauce, fried garlic, garlic oil, and butter alongside steamed botchy, finished with cilantro and a side of plum sauce. THIS WAS SO FLAVORFUL and yummy. I don't often eat garlic butter noodles so any garlic butter noodle is delicious to me. I did NOT see any fried garlic in my meal and felt it was only garlic oil that was present with the garlic profiles. The noodles were very garlic-y and butter-y. The pork shoulder was also perfectly marinated and dipping it in the plum sauce which was a mix of sweet and tangy paired well with the marination of the meat and butter-ness of the noods. It also came with ONE bakchoy sliced in half to appear as two. And I wish they some how incorporated the cilantro and carrots more into the dish instead of garnish to give some more herbal flavor. Even though, this dish was spot on. HIGHLY RECOMMEND Service was great! Did feel awkward when they handed me the machine to tap my card and leave a tip... they stood there watching you press the buttons. No being discreet picking up plates or looking away... just looking right at you. I know it's a thing with many restaurants now but it's awkward and don't feel like I have privacy. I will def be back! So many yummy dishes on the menu to try. Until the next slurp....
