Not the best Chinese food I've had, but the service and view were 5 stars. The view is absolutely stunning, and they have outdoor seating as well which is right overlooking the water. The inside of the restaurant is decorated with care and although showing some wear in places, it's delightful and welcoming. The typical Chinese horoscope paper placemats are there with the covered chairs, red lanterns and bamboo. Our waiter was sublime with a grace and emotional openness that is rare. He was attentive to us as well as all other tables. Being the only waiter on hand on the quiet evening, he took care of everyone and it was clear he was enjoying himself and did his job well. We ordered a family style meal with fried rice, broccoli with beef, chicken with black bean sauce and egg drop soup. The soup and rice were all right. The sauce for both of the entrees was meh. Portions were large. We took leftovers but didn't eat them because it just wasn't tasty food. The waiter told us before we ordered that it wasn't the best Chinese food. Ha! The bathroom is a bit scary. No lock and just one room for both genders. Free street parking is open all along Marine Drive and nearby as well. Bayview delivers too, nice for those on holiday and have it brought to your hotel. Food: 3 Service: 5 Ambiance: 5 Parking: 4

Don't really understand how reviewers could leave such bad reviews on this place. Get off your high horses, this is a great little spot that has some very and I mean very friendly portion sizes.

Only one server for the entire restaurant made for a very long wait to be seated, to order, and then to have our leftovers packaged. They could have used another two servers and a host/busser. We ordered the dinner-for-three meal. The wonton soup was good, and the pork was nicely seasoned. The appetizer plate was fine, and there were three servings of each item, though the breaded deep-fried wings were tasteless and a little strange. We each had to choose a main dish; we chose chicken chow mein, gai lan with oyster sauce, and Szechuan beef. The flavours were only fair, and the veggies were in large pieces and undercooked. The portions were huge. Massive. Too much for three people, and even with six, everyone would still be quite full. We would have preferred more quality and less quantity.

Tasty and moderately priced Chinese food! We went in for dinner on a Covid Friday night. We got the best seat in the house, overlooking the water. In the summer there is an outdoor patio overlooking the water as well. It was completely empty when we arrived, and we were a little worried, but we shouldn't have been! We ordered two of the combo dinners as well as another dish off the main menu. All our food was delicious, hot, fresh and massive portion sizes! I think the owner was worried we didn't like our food, because we didn't even manage to eat half of it, but there was just so much! Of course we happily took it home and ate it for lunch the next day. We both had sweet and sour chicken, and this place makes it so good that we would trade sweet and sour pork for it any day! The only negative we thought was that the temperature was a little cold inside, but food, service and surroundings were great!

Amazing outdoor patio. Ask for Jimmy, he is the best. Great kids menu. Recommend the sampler, the appetizers are great just by themselves.

Drove to Uptown Chinese restaurant for lunch from Gibsons Landing. The restaurant, which is a good…read moresize, was almost completely empty. There was one other table seated, but that was it. We were somewhat worried about this. Our server was friendly. We asked for lots of lemons/limes with our water and got one slice of lemon each. She didn't really understand the concept of limes, but did go back and get us more lemons. I ordered the Tofu in Salt & Pepper, which is an appetizer, and my friends ordered the spring rolls, which were very nice, Chinese broccoli, and stir fry broccoli in garlic sauce. None of the dishes came with rice, which surprised us. The S&P tofu was spicy, crispy, and delicious. It had small pieces of red and green peppers and onions. It was also fairly spicy, so let them know if you want it milder. They slice the tofu fairly thin, which makes it easier to get crispy I'm sure. My friend's Chinese broccoli was also very tasty. It's not really broccoli but a type of kale with stems that has great health benefits. The stir fry broccoli with garlic sauce didn't have a ton of flavor, but it was cooked well. I really didn't taste much garlic in it, but it was bright green and crunchy. They make their own sauces in house and the yellow mustard was not as spicy as the ones you get pre-packaged. The sweet sauce for the spring rolls was very nice; I added it to my tofu, which went together nicely. The red chili sauce was more sweet than spicy. This was a solid Chinese restaurant, but it did not stand out amongst its peers, hence the 3 star rating.

Two individuals I support attended the restaurant with staff, as they do regularly for a monthly outing. Unfortunately, from the moment they arrived, it was clear they were not being treated the same as other customers. Staff present reported that the servers seemed disengaged and reluctant to serve them. After the individuals went through the buffet line, staff at the restaurant immediately followed behind them and wiped down all the utensils, handles, and serving areas they had touched. While cleanliness is expected, this level of targeted cleaning did not occur for other patrons during the two hours they remained there, making it feel very intentional and directed specifically at these two individuals, both of whom use wheelchairs. Throughout the visit, they were not offered drink refills, despite witnessing other tables being checked on repeatedly. Their plates were never cleared, even as surrounding tables were consistently serviced. The difference in treatment was noticeable and deeply concerning. At the end of the visit, one individual had a single dessert tart remaining and politely asked if she could take it to go. The response from staff was unnecessarily harsh, stating that if they allowed that, "everyone would expect free food." This was especially upsetting given that the item could not be reused and would simply be discarded. Overall, the experience left both the individuals and staff feeling singled out and unwelcome. The treatment appeared discriminatory, particularly toward individuals using wheelchairs. One of the individuals has since expressed that she does not want to return, as she felt judged and treated differently because of her disability. I am sharing this review so others--especially those supporting individuals with diverse abilities--are aware of this experience. All customers deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this restaurant.
