Our family used to like the food at this restaurant. The food had changed for the worse. The last few times we have ordered it has been hugely disappointing. We will not be ordering from Fortune Kitchen any more. With our recent order, the vegetarian fried rice and special fried rice were greasy. The deep fried prawns were soggy. (they did not have sauce on top of them so that is not the reason) From reading past reviews it seems they used to allow up to 2 substitutes in the dinners for 2, 4, 6. (at a charge) My husband asked on the phone if we could substitute 2 things and the person he spoke to said no they don't do that. Not worth the $80 spent for just 2 of us. read more

Almond chicken was so tough I could hardly eat it. It tasted old and freezer burned. Everyone who ate the food we ordered got ill with a stomach ache. Ended up throwing most of it away. An expensive lesson; waste of $60 dollars. Am considering reporting them to health and safety authorities for all the good it would do. Don't eat here. read more

Typical small town Chinese joint Price: decent, better than downtown Vancouver prices. Ate for 2 for under $35 Food: we did our typical Chinese food taster: Wor wonton - on the small side but the wontons were good and lots of filling Combo a: what's with combos with rice AND noodles? This is the only one that had 2 mains and a carb. Ate the chicken before taking a pic, oops. The chop suey was kinda meh, the rice had some wok hei. The reviews for this place, are all over the map. They're either Love'em or Hate'm. I'm in the former camp. I've eaten in many Chineses restaurants here & abroad, & the food here was Damn Decent.!!! I was here last night, Nov 03 '23. I had the beef & tomato chow mien, the Thai chili prawns, & a spring roll. The s roll was mediocre. The B & T chow mien was v. v. good. The beef was everywhere- @ 1st I couldn't get enough noodles, there was so much damn meat. When I went for the noodles, my chop sticks was Always puncturing the sweet, TENDER, beef. The tomatoes were lightly sauted, fresh & substantial, & not to leave the onions out, lightly sauted & a hint of sweetness. The Thai Chili Prawns was also damn good. Lots of Prawns, lightly sauted, & a decent flavour, & the veggies were tender- even the green peppers. The lady who took my order was v warm & friendly. I have Never seen or heard such happy, joyous & V. Courteous customers- it had such a friendly atmosphere. There were so many thx yous, I knew for sure that I was in CANADA. Despite the sign saying " Service is Food Court style", ie. grab it from the counter. She brought my meal to me. In most ways, order & pick up is probably the way to go. We stopped here on whim and were pleasantly surprised. Food was good and the service was friendly. The lunch special was a great value and we each enjoyed our different dishes- curry chicken, Mongolian beef, orange chicken, and set and sour boneless pork. read more

Not good, sad to say. Seems overpriced and lacks originality. Been to many Chinese restaurants, but this was bad. Portions were ok, but a lot of nothing. The rice was i think was fried with only ricc dressed with soy sauce, very very little egg, nothing else. Orange beef was bland. There was no Chinese mustard and soup was bland also. My wife and I went the for a a meal. Firstly there is virtually nothing on there with vegetables on the menu. I had Wontons for my 1st course. There was about 12 on the plate but they were large pieces of pasty folded over with a spec a filling in it. They could have cut down the numbers and put a little more filling in and made it tasty as all as you tasted was fried pastry. 2nd course was hard to select a meal. Wanting something like a chicken with vegetables or something thing similar there was nothing on the menu with a combination of meat & veggie's. So we settled on Chicken balls with sweet & sour. Firstly if it is quantity you want here is you place. There were about 18 chicken balls in batter. The sweet & sour sauce tasted like it came out of a bottle. Every where else in the world I have always had something in the sause such as red bell pepper, onion & pineapple. This had nothing. To top it off some of the chicken balls the batter was not cooked properly and was uncooked in the middle. It is the 1st time I have ever felt like I had to review a place it was that bad. As for fried rice. A very cheap dish. $13.95. I only wanted rice and did not want to buy the kitchen. Any way go at your own peril. read more

Only Chinese restaurant in the upper Squamish area. Typical local Canadian Chinese restaurant. Can't really say the food is excellent but is eatable and the price is fair. Dishes are quite large in portion and the taste is acceptable only. We ordered curry chicken, the chicken breasts they used were quite tender and the curry sauce is good. The Ma Po Tofu is really not up to the standard of Chinese restaurant but is acceptable. Overall, can't expect much when you are in Squamish for one evening. read more

Does not live up to it's name. Bad misfortune if you eat here. The food is not HOT. The service is questionable. The waits are long. How can something deep fried be COLD ,I mean the spring rolls ? We were willing to overlook the spring rolls until the Entrees were cold . Were they even cooked enough to be food safe ? The restaurant is so cold as well.
