Ming's Garden is just across from Capilano Mall on Marine Dr. in North Vancouver. We'd ordered some takeout food from here once before, and it was quite good back then. As we hadn't ordered from here in awhile, we decided to give it a try, just to have a bit of a change from any of our usual "go to" Chinese restaurants on the North Shore. Scallops with Snow Peas Deep Fried Fish Cod Fillet with Sweet & Sour Sauce Seafood Chow Mein (crispy) Shrimp Foo Young Unfortunately the food was not as good this time as it had been the last time we ordered from here. The main issue we found with the food this time was that much of it was too salty. Flavors and textures were fine, but the excess salt made it difficult to enjoy the food. Might be awhile before we try coming back here again. Service: Good Parking: Parking at rear, according to their website (I got dropped off and went through the front to pick up our food, so I never actually saw the rear of the restaurant!) Location: 965 Marine Dr., North Vancouver

Absolute disgusting food. I ordered a chicken rice plate. The small pieces of chicken were all disgusting, filled with fat. The veggies were uncooked. Making rice chicken is not rocket science but for these guys it really is.

the time is right to make new friends

Barf. Singapore noodles and Chicken Chow M that looked the same except for curry...three fortune cookies (stale, not in plastic) all with the same fortune written on each. We really couldn't have been more disappointed.

Ordered House special rice. There was only two tiny shrimp and three tiny pieces of mushroom and nothing much else. Complete rip off.

Ordered the beef with black bean sauce and the noodles weren't cooked properly. Very hard and crunchy!

It's been ages since we dined in this restaurant. I used to come here quite often with my family,…read morebut over the years we stopped coming and of course the pandemic didn't help matters either. Sometime after life started to normalize again, we did place a take out order from here. This is the first time though in a very very very long time that I have actually dined in the restaurant. Ummm...I'm thinking it might almost be the last time I dine here. Might not even get take out from this restaurant either. No issues with the quality of the food. The food is still very good. But holy smokes...this place has gotten super expensive! I came here for a quick and simple meal with my mom. We'd had a super exhausting day. We needed something quick and simple so we could head back home and flop on our beds. We ordered just one dish to share, which was a Vegetable Fried Rice. Whoa...this one dish came to about $30 when all was said and done! It's one of the simplest dishes one could order in a Chinese restaurant and it came to $30. Could have chosen not to order it because of course I did see the price on the menu before ordering it, so...realized it was gonna cost a pretty penny. But as I said, we'd had a long day. We were way too tired to get up and look for anywhere else to eat. So we stomached the cost and now...I think I will not be coming back to this restaurant again. Do I recommend the food here? Sure. The food is good, and the portion of our Vegetable Fried Rice was generous. We had lots leftover to bring home. But...$30 for a plate of fried rice? That's ridiculous. This place is way overpriced now.

From ignoring waiting patrons for pick up to demanding I open my app to prove it's actually my order because "I don't know who you are", even after showing a screen shot, I can't say I've ever encountered trying to do a quick up and being so irritated at the interaction. The odds of reciting an exact name and order in trying to take someone else's order would be pretty difficult. This type of interaction happened twice in a row, so for that alone we won't bother going again. Service is still a rather important aspect even if it's just picking up. As for the food, it was fine. Not awful, but not impressive either. The spring roll for $2.50 a piece had nothing but a few large chunks of cabbage in it and tasted like heavily used oil. No thanks. We also got a meal with noodles, beef and sweet and sour pork. Maybe it's good value for the quantity, and I thought the beef was decent. But the pork wasn't and the noodles were heavily covered in a salty sauce, which was kind of ok but definitely leaves you feeling greasy. The chicken part of the lemon chicken was good but the sauce had a thick jelly like consistency. There's better, nicer places in the area, so no need to return here. If you want greasy, food court style Chinese take out from a questionably clean establishment and can handle rude interactions, then go for it. But we won't!

The Beef Noodle soup was ok but not as flavourful as Red Beef for example. It lacked a bit of kick. The meat was a little too soft for my taste but its very personal. I did see some other very interesting dishes so I will be back to try those and give a better verdict. Service was good and its a very big place despite what it looks like on the outside.

We ate what would normally be a $100-$125 US meal for under $80 US. It was awesome. We got so much food - it was ridiculous. We ate quite a bit and saved the rest for leftovers. The servers were super nice and sweet. Very family friendly. We found our new go-to spot in Vancouver, B.C. Also, if you give it a little time the parking isn't too bad. Dinasty also stays open a little later than most restaurants in town, making this a viable option when in a pinch for food but running late in the day. Will absolutely go back next time in town. Thanks for having us. Comparable to Dough Zone or Din Tai Fung, somewhere right in between with quality and cost. Everything was yummy.
