    Spicy Cucumbers - delish

This was GREAT!!! We stopped in on a whim at 8 pm, and didn't have high hopes because of the reviews - and let me tell you, it's great. We are vegan and got the spicy cucumbers, the Dan Dan noodles and the veggie plate of eggplant and potatoes - it was all EXCELLENT!!! Came out fast. Nice clean place. Highly recommend!

Where do I even begin? I was really looking forward to trying this place since it was featured on Diners, drive-ins, and dives and I used to watch it religiously! However, after reading some reviews, I had no expectations and was coming here with an open mind because I didn't want to be sway by the negative reviews. With that said, I'm super disappointed by the quality of the food and the service Service was subpar and it wasn't even busy - I had ordered Dan Dan noodles with round noodles instead of thick ones and they brought it out knowing very well that they had my order wrong - if they knew, why not just fix it right? I know this for a fact, because even before putting my noodles down, the server said the cook put in the wrong type of noodles instead and just placed the bowl on the table - didn't even give me a chance to talk. I'm not picky so I just let it go. But I thought the principle was wrong there. As well, the servers kinda stood at one spot and getting their attention was a bit difficult despite the place not being busy Dan Dan noodles - to me, the flavours did not go well together. Yes I tasted the nutty, and the tangy aspects of it but it was separated. As well, the tanginess was overwhelming. It was really salty also Chicken pan fried dumplings - I was told they don't have pork dumplings on the weekends so I went with chicken instead. It was freshly made by the steam coming out of the dumplings and the crispiness of it. The taste, however, was meh - nothing special, nothing stood out to me. As well the dipping sauce was mostpy vinegar and not enough sesame oil Just because it was featured on t.v. doesn't mean it's good food. Maybe the quality of the food has gone down hill since the air date but don't waste your money here

Don't let the exterior of the restaurant fools you - it may be easy to glaze over this restaurant if you're walking past, but it's definitely worth a try especially if you like hand shaved noodles and REAL SPICY food! Its easy and quick to seat and their service is fast too. Between the two of us, we got the spicy lamb hand shaved noodles - their noodles had a good chew and you can tell it's not packed shaved noodles, they shave it themselves! Highly recommend this dish! We also got their spicy A-Choy. They don't hold back on the spice ya'll, so make sure you let them know if you need it less spicy because I definitely shed a spicy tear or two :P Their menu has a large variety so I'm looking forward to the next time I go back with a bigger group to try more things! :)

Dumplings hot sour soup ginger beef green beans and beef roll

Have now done two pick ups since things got interesting ! So hot, fresh and delicious , staff are so pleased to see you. Our favourites remain hot and sour soup, dumplings , crispy ginger beef, spicy green beans and of course the beef roll! It might seem a little pricey but the portions are great and we often get two meals out of it with some soup to freeze! So on this take out day please try them you can also get delivery if you don't want to pick up. When things do open up it will be our first spot as place is large and spaced already

Pan-Fried Pork Buns, Peaceful Beef Rolls, and Seafood Soup Noodles

Day trip to Vancouver and my friend wanted to checked this place out after he saw it on a show. The ratings online weren't great but since Guy Fieri went, we decided to go check it out and form our own opinion. We got 4 different dishes at Peaceful Restaurant and only was impressed by one dish - the Peaceful Beef Rolls. Do not get the Xiao-Long Bao Steamed Buns. It was so disappointing. It didn't have any structure and as soon as you picked it up with chopsticks, the little buns broke. The flavor was bland and not even the ginger vinegar soy sauce could save it. The Seafood Soup Noodles was good, but not great. If you're a noodle person, I'd try it out because the noodle seemed homemade and had a nice texture to it. It came with a variety of greens, prawns and squid. The broth was clean and was a nice palette cleanser of the other heavy dishes. I personally really liked the Pan-Fried Pork Buns. It was so crispy at the bottom and had a nice sesame flavor. I wish we would have gotten 2 orders of this rather than the steamed buns. This was my first time trying anything like this - the Peaceful Beef rolls. The only reason why my friend wanted to check this place out and it did not disappoint. I don't have anything else to compare it to but according to this foodie friend of mine, he said this was the best one he's ever had. Other places can't get the texture right.. where it's not only super crispy on the outside and but also throughout the different layovers inside. It's beef rolled in a crispy flat read and smothered in hoisin sauce. I personally would not go here again.

Looks like they've opened up a place in this part of town. Even though the sandwich board advertises Guy Fieri (Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives) as being here, technically he was at their original Broadway and Cambie location. Parking is available on the side streets. The interior looked pretty new and clean. Looking at the other reviews, the place must've opened up recently. Seating was comfortable. Staff were friendly. Our food took a while (some 30 minutes) to show up though. When ordering food, they asked how spicy we wanted. Good to know that it's adjustable. Cilantro lamb - beautiful. Spicy but not coated in peppers like some other places. Tender chunks of meat. Special mention. Beef roll - comes in 4 chunks. Not too greasy, which is nice. Sauce is inside, but a bit more would've been nice. Seafood stir-fry - served with large red chili chunks. Not sure if they were meant to be eaten, but they were a bit too big. My friends and I picked them out. Prawns were decent but not super fresh. Again, nice light kick. Stir-fried beef noodles - nice mix, though it is admitted similar to what one would get at a food court. The type of noodle (several styles) can be chosen. No need to get too worked up on choosing though, as it's all the same dough, but in different form. Food is not the cheapest here, but it's of decent quality. Definitely a place where one can bring one's parents. While the experience was nice, it just felt more sterile than the original location. Classier but with less soul. If I were to do it again, I would go to Broadway.

Food is not bad. It is on the pricier side for Chinese Shanghainese Dim Sum. But I guess they factored in the location and the advertisement from Guy, they can charge more. But their food is not bad. If I had to compare to their Broadway location (which is the location that Guy visited), the Broadway location definitely taste better. Portion is ok size. Not like big or anything. However like I said I do like their food. We did find it ironic why they gave us the same vinegar and told us its for this and then bought it again and said its for that and told us its different. When its almost all the same except the one for the xiao long bao has ginger in it, the one one for the pork bun has black pepper in it and the one for the gyoza is plain vinegar. We were a bit scratching our heads. The skin on the xiao long bao is not like super thin like how some restaurants in Richmond makes it. The Gyoza are a bit burnt but overall it still taste really good. The bottom is crunchy. Which is quite yummy. We ordered a stir fried noodle and we get to pick the kind of noodles that we want, we got the knife chopped noodles (which we were not exactly sure how it would turn out). So they have options on the noodles but we didn't like the knife chopped noodles. We actually prefer thin noodles. Overall that was quite tastily because the soy sauce is very dense and the noodle absorbed the flavor. We also got a beef soup noodle. I like how the beef is nice and tender. I only had a bit to try because my dad ate the whole thing. He loved it. On top of that we got the wonton in soup. The soup was yummy as if it was like miso soup (that is how my sister described it). Very flavorful soup. It is the same soup as the beef noodle. The pork bun was one of my favorite dish because the botton was crunchy and some how I really like starch. Ok! well anything bread or bun, I liked. Decor is not bad. Its nice and clean. You can see inside the kitchen from the kitchen window. So you know its clean. Its interesting how its a trend these days to have Asian restaurants to have that design. Its like an enclosed open concept but at the same time, it give you confidence that you know the place is clean and good. Overall, I will definitely be back.

Your preference will depend upon subtleties about noodle thickness and texture and broth flavors, but there is always, always a line in front of Ramen Danbo. A lot of it is probably due to hype or fame, but I have to admit that I think it does edge out the others in several ways. I think the noodles themself are more flavorful and more delicate. And I have to say the pork was extremely tender and flavorful. The egg was perfectly prepared, and the broth was perfectly seasoned to my desired spiciness level. They also do a great job searing their gyozas. Because of its overwhelming popularity, they have perfected the ordering process so that you can fill out a form while you're in line, which greatly reduces your wait time. It's easy to get in and out of here in 30 min, and I'm sure that is their goal. They had a new yuzu drink which I also tried - too sweet, and for $5, total rip off. Considering the quality, their prices are on the high side. Paid parking was not too hard to find on the Main Street but during busy dining hours it might be difficult. We got seated right away at the bar since there were no tables open and the service was quick. Traditional Japanese style ambiance and even the bathroom had rounded Japanese bowl sink. As someone who doesn't have chicken broth (paitan style) ramen, I was really looking forward to the original ramen I ordered but I was a bit disappointed in the flavor profile of the dish. The ramen had both chasu and seaweed paired with thin round noodles. The broth was creamy and had a hint of chicken flavor but even adding several rounds of their soy sauce/salt seasoning they have on the side to adjust your broth to your liking-- I found that the richness of the soup was not what I had expected from the reviews that I read prior to coming here. Overall, a bit disappointed in the flavoring of the broth but maybe we came on an off day. I would be willing to give it a shot again in the future if I had ramen cravings and given that it was very affordable ($11-15 per bowl with tip), but I would probably opt to try another place first.

Review #3 for 2026 I…read morereally wanted to like this place. I watched many videos and read reviews before coming here, but it just did not hit the spot. After a cold day of exploring Stanley Park, we felt that ramen would really hit the spot, so we went here not wanting to deal with a wait at Danbo with a hungry and tired toddler. There was NO wait when we arrived here and we were seated immediately... which for a place that was really hyped up, should had made us think twice. There was only 1 other party at the restaurant. Now, the workers were super nice and the food came out quickly and we did eat everything because we were starving. We all ordered the cha-shu tamago ramen, 2 of us got spicy and 2 of us non-spicy. It came with extra chashu and the soft boiled egg for about $20 Canadian. The bowl was a good size and there was a promo for free extra noodles while we were there. Everyone except me in our group took advantage of it because I was too full from my bowl. Now, the broth here is different from other places because it is chicken based and not pork based. Everything I had seen about this place promised the broth is every bit just as good as the pork bone broth... however, the broth we received looked flavorful, but was bland. It was completely bland. There was no richness to it, not even a hint. I don't know, coming from southern California, the flavor just was not there period. We did all eat our food because we were starving, but it for sure did not hit the spot at all. Maybe we got an off day? Otherwise our broth had literally zero flavor to it. We all wished we had tried the other ramen place instead right after trying our ramen. Would I come back? I will have to say definitely no. We do not live in Vancouver and I do not want to waste any meals on a place that did not taste good the first time we went.

The beef is tender though the quantity is very little. More noodles than meat ratio. The combo is totally not worth it now that the price has gone up to about $13.
