Super happy I got my fried okra fix since I couldn't get any at Dickey's BBQ. It's not bad, 4/5. The friendly person at the cash register recommended the mango passion fruit tea with mango popping balls, and it was perfect and refreshing in this hot weather. Soy garlic wings were pretty good. Husband loved the flavor and seasoning of the #1 chicken sando and liked the waffle fries and slaw. Kids' portions are good for the price, and they didn't get to finish all of them. Service was pretty good. The person who worked the register was very friendly and we even talked about it after we got home. Came in with my wife and toddler. Been to the one in Herndon a few times with no problems. Was generally always good. This location was terrible though. I'm guessing they all moved from the regular fat chicken to this long thin piece which sucks in comparison but what made it worse was it was over fried and weirdly hard. The fries weren't even fried (funny since the chicken was over fried) and were a soft soggy mess, gross and worse than McDonald's sad soggy sticks. The part that really ticked me off was me ordering the funnel cake fries with strawberry's (the picture shows strawberries) and I didn't get any strawberries just some syrup. It really disappointed my toddler which was upsetting. I hope the manager or someone can reach out and make this right somehow. Otherwise I will never go back to this location. TL;DR: Seriously HOT chicken. Good flavor. A little pricy ($15) but seems typical now a days for fast casual places. The place is in the busiest area of Centreville. The inside is painted a bright red color (kind of hurt my eyes lol). They have a counter where you can order, or a kiosk to do it yourself. Plenty of seating and DIY fountain drink machine. Guys.. Do not make the same mistake we did. We did not see the spice disclaimer/warning, and ordered with our own assumptions on the spice levels. I honestly wish we saw the sign sooner/actually read the prompts. I loooove spicy food. I ordered a Hot thinking it would be very spicy, but tolerable. A friend of mine pinged me recently to ask if I had checked out Hangry Joe's - knowing of my affinity for spicy food. I had not heard of Hangry Joe's - so - being intrigued, I went the very next day for lunch. I ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich combo at the "Hot" level. There is one heat level above "Hot," - called "Angry Hot," which requires the customer sign a waiver to order. The combo comes with a large side of Waffle fries. The gentleman at the register - asked me if I was sure about wanting to go with the "Hot" spice level. I responded that I am a heat fiend, so this will be no problem for me. First off, the sandwich size is huge! Seems like the chicken is about a pound of chicken. I ended up with some food leftover which I took to go for a snack later. The heat level? Very spicy! Enjoyed the heck out of it! They have a sign up in the restaurant advising that their "mild" spice level is hotter than Tabasco sauce. I don't find that to be hot - but some folks do. Tasty sammich! There's a new Nashville hot chicken sandwich shop in town, and it's the fast growing chain Hangry Joe's! A while back I was on Instagram, and to my surprise, I saw an ad announcing that a Hangry Joe's was opening up in Centreville right in the same plaza as Pho Duong, Bon Chon, etc. I've been to the Fairfax location (located next to the Duck Donuts), and enjoyed it, but it was great to see something a lot closer to home. I visited yesterday on the opening day and expected that it was going to be absolutely packed. True to my expectations, this place was really busy. On the plus side, it was easy to order using a little kiosk near the front. Despite having a bunch of people in the place, it didn't take very long for my food (ordered to go) to be prepared. What is great about this place is that they know to vent the boxes so that the steam doesn't make your sandwich and waffle fries to get soggy! I ordered the hot, which is one level down from having to sign a waiver (!) and it was tasty, but not overly spicy. I like really spicy food though, so it's hard to judge for others. When doubt, go less spicy than you think you can handle and get spicy the next time (because there will be a next time!) Overall, this was a great first trip to the newest Hangry Joe's in the area. May 2022 - COVID Review: My husband and I were excited to see this place open near home so we opted to dine in. The restaurant is decently sized but they had the music on full blast so it's hard to have a conversation without screaming across the table. We got the combo and it was pretty good! The fries were my favorite because they were so crispy. The chicken breast they use was HUGE that both sides were coming out of the bun. I got the medium and it was too spicy for me (I can handle an adequate amount of spice). I tried my husband's mild and it barely had spice for me. Parking: it is located in a small strip mall. It can get very crowded and may be hard to find a parking spot right in front of the restaurant. There should be other parking spots down the same shopping center. Seating: there was a good number of seats, but I can see it getting very crowded on the weekends. Many people seemed to just pick up their food and leave. They have music playing and their tables & seats are clean. Food: heads up: the mild can be pretty spicy! I like the mild personally! Their chicken doesn't have a curry taste. Bathroom: single bathrooms, one for the ladies & one for the men. Price: it's slightly on the pricier side. Hangry Joe's brings the heat!! Visited with a coworker for lunch shortly after opening. It wasn't busy in the slightest, almost dead really, so we opted to order from the kiosks. I got the Tender combo and chose Hot for my spice level. I have to assume it was due to the chicken being spiced and served fresh out the fryer but it was distinctly more intense this time around. I ran through the gamut of spicy food suffering: slow deep breaths, multiple drink refills, the endless cascade of napkins...the only thing left off the list was crying lmao. Towards the end of the meal, and a bit late for what it's worth, I'd adjusted to the spice and was able to finish out the meal without as much issue. Overall a solid, filling lunch spot not too far down the road from Chantilly. I'm thinking I might do Medium instead next time, though. The sandwich was very structurally sound, which is a major point for me. The fries and slaw were also good. Someone in my party did feel that the chicken breast was a little dry though. I am not very sensitive to that sort of thing, so I myself did not notice that. That person would probably award Hangry Joes a 3 star.
