I like this place normally; however, I had a very frustrating experience my last visit. Ended up wasting an hour, did not get my food and was still charged $33+ despite asking for a refund. The estimate when I ordered in the app was ~30 minutes. Waited over an hour for my food and the service person kept stringing me along saying '5 more minutes' and 'let me check' and ignored. We got the soteok, fries and boneless chicken. The soteok was good but definitely pricy for the amount you get. The boneless chicken was okay tbh, the breading on it was not good and the soy garlic chicken was way too small, it wasn't crispy at all. Even looking at the pictures, compared to the spicy one it just wasn't crispy at all. The soda was flat as well. Service here is okay, seems like they only have one person handling everything, running the food, taking the order, front desk, phones. So I can see how it gets very busy. read more

I am in love with their mala chicken. I came here during the mid afternoon, so it was almost empty. Service was quick, and the place was quiet. They have two TVs on if you're the type who enjoys background noise or visuals. I wish the mala chicken had more sauce because it was delicious. Because we had the rose tteotboki, it was a good combo with both. It wasn't dry and mostly breading luckily. They have a happy hour everyday 2-5pm. So we got a beer pitcher which was a few dollars less. They only have 4? Beer pitcher options. I tried their ponce at night IPA, which was okay, not extremely bitter. Went looking for a Korean BBQ spot in downtown Decatur and it was closed. Searched and found this spot. When we got inside, the attendant was not very friendly or welcoming. We found our own table as directed and placed an order that was directly promptly and accurately. Once the food got here, it was delicious. We ordered a lot as a group and are almost everything. The dining area was clean and spacious and we enjoyed the vibe. If you are in downtown Decatur, don't let the sour attitude at the door discourage. Try this place out! read more

I visit this location regularly. Typically the food is cooked to perfection, hot, and delicious upon pick up, as was the case Monday, June 16, 2025. When I ordered the exact same items Wednesday, June 18th, I was looking forward to a repeat performance, but I was sorely disappointed. I ordered the boneless wings with honey garlic sauce. Today the chicken was cooked beyond its optimal doneness and became shards of shrapnel. The lovely honey and garlic sauce delivered just two days previously had acquired a concentration and color that led me to believe it was the wrong sauce. Additionally, both the fries and the chicken were cold as if they had been packages and sitting in the window for at least 30 minutes. I was in the parking lot when I realized this, and decided to return too the restaurant because this was a clear mistake. Unfortunately there was no sense of urgency or even apology when I presented the items to the server. When I brought up the sauce being incorrect, he told me that's what ot is supposed to look like. I told him it didn't look like that on Monday. He told me they were closed on Monday. (They were not.) Rather do anything to rectify the situation or even apologize, he seemed more interested in debunking my complaints. He said he would need to call his manager to determine what, if anything, could be done in terms of discounting or refunding, and left me at the register while he placed a call from his cell phone. When he returned, he handed me his phone and said she wanted to talk to me. She also was deeply invested in removing any reason I might have to complain, and went so far as to cite the time I placed the order and the time I picked it up. There is no way chicken cooked in boiling oil should be room temperature after 10 minute, yet she refused to do anything, claiming that I needed to speak to DoorDash. So here we are. The food when delivered correctly is delicious, but I am reluctant to return to a restaurant where the staff blames me for their terrible customer service. read more

The food is on the pricey side, especially the sides ($8 for so ddeok so dddeok was waaayyy too much). The flavor itself was good, but the wings felt a little soggy, even without sauce. I came to this restaurant on a Saturday evening to pick up food for take out. Upon arrival, the restaurant wasn't too crowded, and there would have been ample seating had I been dining in. I was given my order immediately which was quite hot, at the time expected (20 minutes post ordering). The food was packaged well and had no issues transporting it home! The chicken was great. Crispy, juicy and flavorful, and had a nice kick! The wings did seems slightly smaller than average, but they were definitely filling. The rose Ddeok-Bokki also tasted great, both sweet and spicy, and full of flavor. Meals also come with a side of radishes which is a nice touch! read more

This place is very similar to all the other locations. We ordered the secret sauce, soy garlic, and original to go. I love the soy garlic because it is so good! It's a little on the sweet side which is my favorite. When we picked up our order, it just came out so when we went home it's still very close to fresh out of the oven. The chicken is nice and crispy just like how I like it. Overall, there are no complains and it's very on par to other locations I've been at. The service is really great, I do not remember the serve name but she was really nice and patient. The food was not really THAT good. It's not authentic but more catered towards Americans pallet. We ordered for delivery via Grubhub and had the Half&Half Boneless (with half being the Hot Spicy) and a kimchi fried rice. I liked the boneless chicken but it was a bit dry. The next time I order I definitely want to try something with bones because the breading was very promising. The fried rice was ridiculously spicy. My bf likes spicy and even he struggled to eat it. I am spice averse so I tried one mouthful and quit. I also thought it was pretty pricey for what you get... the subtotal on the food before tax/tip was $48 for just those two things. This has been the best I've had in quite some time. We were first time diners last evening after leaving the Fernbank. They had me when I asked for water with lemon and it came in a REAL glass with a fresh cut lemon at 10pm. The service was fantastic and the food was superb. It was freshly cooked not pre frozen. The server gave us time to relax and probe the menu. I noticed there were a lot of take outs and the server gave them the same amount of service as those that were dining in. The area was clean, well lit and comfortable. Oh dear...maybe it's because this location is quite new, but it left much to be desired in pretty much every aspect of the experience. I've been to other locations of bb.q in the past - I had always thought the chicken was pretty good (but not necessarily mind blowing). Decided to come to this one on a Friday night and was pleasantly surprised to see that it wasn't too crowded inside (but we were soon to find out why...). Normally we would get beer to go with our chicken, but they don't have their liquor license yet. We chose a whole chicken split half and half - original flavor and secret sauce (which had a very mild spice to it). It took at least 30-40 minutes for our food to come out. The chicken was served with two small sides of radish, and we also ordered some extra. Ugh. The flavor of the batter was FUNKY. I don't know how to describe it, but something tasted off, and the weird taste was even more prominent in the chicken with sauce. The skin wasn't nearly crispy enough (isn't crispy skin the whole point of Korean fried chicken?) and the radish was nothing to write home about either. We did not finish our food, and when asked if we wanted to-go boxes, I was quick to say "no thanks". Try your luck elsewhere - this spot isn't it. read more

My go to flavor for KFC is soy garlic but the garlic at bb.q is a little too overpowering in my opinion. Not enough savory/soy, too strong of garlic. The breading and crispyness of the chicken here is top tier though, might even trump Pelicana's breading. Unfortunately, I'm a flavor over texture girl and so I probably won't get soy garlic here again. Would be open to trying other flavors though! Service was good, we were the only ones in the entire restaurant I'm pretty sure though. There is some paid street parking. read more

We go to Bb.q almost once or twice a week. Most of the time we are going to the Suwanee or Duluth locations but have been to this location a few times. For some reason this location has pretty bad customer service and the front ladies tend to not know what theyre doing. Since my wife had to stay at the hospital for a couple of weeks, I ordered here twice. The first time I ordered through the phone and placed my order. What should have been a 20 min drive for me turned out to be around 30-40 mins with Atl traffic, but once I got there I found out that my order wasn't even put in... so, I ended up waiting another 20-30 minutes at the restaurant waiting for the food to be made. The second time (a week or so later) I wanted to treat my wife and kids and ordered about $150 worth of food for Christmas as she's spending it at the hospital; this time through my phone as I thought may have been much easier. Thankfully, my order went through this time but once I brought it back and open it up I see what looks like a sandwich/burger bag of a literal handful of fries that I paid $6 for. Also, they charge $1 extra for extra sauce that they only give you a half of a small container of. The chicken was pretty dry and the wings were pretty small as well. As well I ordered two rose tteokbokki and apparently they don't give any utensils or napkins, especially for a carry out order?? The Worst is their customer service who have a "I don't care, not my problem" "I don't know what you want me to do about it." attitude. Worst location I've ever been to and it looks like the owners care very little to make it right.. no wonder this place is always empty. read more

I love bb.q's Korean fried chicken; I'm so glad there's a location in downtown Decatur that's closer to me. My favorite flavors so far are the galbi and Gangnam style (has a bit of a kick). I love that they give you the daikon on the side; it's nice to cut through some of the grease from the fried chicken. The best chicken I can remember having. I think they cook it at a really hot temperature in order to seal in flavor and keep the exterior of the product crispy and not greasy. The place is clean and very friendly. I've eaten there about four or five times already. I strongly recommend their boneless chicken sandwich. It's made from quality meat (darkish) and the hot sauce is divine. It's much better than Chick-Fil-A but with a corresponding price increase. You get what you pay for. Great addition to Decatur restaurants. They validate parking for the garage. Went around 3 pm on a Tuesday we were the only ones eating there. We were greeted and seated right away good customer service and waitress was very attentive. I was thinking it was going to be counter service so surprised and happy it was not a sit down service. They seemed to do a good take out business. Seems pricey but it's a good portion size ( we bought home food) it would not hurt for them to have a small side included in the price.
