BBQ Chicken recently opened in the H-Mart in Arcadia. I loved fried chicken, especially Korean fried chicken, so I knew I had to give it a try. I've been to the bb.q Chicken in Alhambra, but this one is smaller and has less options. The bb.q Chicken in H-Mart does not have kimchi fried rice, but that's ok. I ended up ordering the 5 boneless wings and a side of fries. I got the soy garlic sauce for the boneless wings. The food took a while to arrive, as I think it's made to order. I waited about 20 minutes. The chicken was solid. The meat was juicy. The outside batter was a bit soggy, but that's ok. Maybe just a bit too crispy for me as well, a bit tough to chew. Must order their honey soy garlic, best wing flavor compliment to their perfectly fried chicken wings. Cheese fries are a good portion to share. Food was served pipping hot, fresh, and crunchy! We got a small meal today, wings and Tteokbokki. Soy Garlic Wings came out super crunchy and very flavorful! 2 of 8 wings were flats so winning! Tteokbokki original was very spicy when it was hot but just perfect when it cooled down? Unless I just got used to the spice lol. However I think the sauce was heavy on the gochugaru because it was very grainy. There was only 1 guy working both the front and back (that I observed) on Sunday afternoon. The orders still came out timely but definitely on the longer side. Regardless of you ask for "here or to go" your food is served in Togo boxes and bag. He didn't auto include utensils or napkins so I had to wait for him to see me to ask for them. Slightly inconvenient but I can understand the not wanting to be wasteful. They used to leave the napkins and utensils out at the front but because it was so wait Easy access I'm guessing too many non customers took advantage. This location is inside an HMart food court. Tables are first come first serve. Can get very busy and from what I observed today, very dirty tables and floors. Highly recommend bringing some wipes with you since restrooms do not offer paper towels either. read more

Stopped by this place since we were craving Korean fried chicken, and it hit the spot. The chicken is always fried to perfection. We usually order the Original and Honey Garlic, but decided to try the Secret Sauce today. It was tasty with just a bit of heat. Wow bb.q have location inside hmart foodcourt! Nice. They took over the corndog spot. For the uninitiated, korean fried chicken always takes 20-30 minutes. So best to put in your order and then walk around hmart to shop. Once you're done shopping, ready to eat. That was our strategy. We got whole chicken, original and hot spicy sauce, total $35. The hot spicy is sweet, sticky, and spicy with a kick. The original is crispy. This time is a little lacking flavor for me and a little dry (just a little!). Still manage to stay crispy on the 20 minute drive home inside a box! Pro tip: if you don't finish, airfry tomorrow and they get crispy again. read more

One box of the original and one box of the sweet and spicy came out to be a total of around $60-$68, which is very good deal for korean fried chicken! My go-to orders are the original and Secret Sauce chicken (with extra sauce on the side). Although the typical sides including fries, radish, etc. are solid, I prefer the dish either plain or with a side of beer in a classic jovial pairing! Before I could even figure out what to do, a young lady with the biggest smile greeted me and asked if she could help. Her name was Patty. I told her it was my first visit, and she patiently explained the menu, especially the different spice levels. Since I enjoy spicy food, I confidently ordered the Hot level. Looking back... I may have been a little overconfident! When my food was ready, Patty brought it to my table with the same genuine smile she greeted me with. The food looked incredible, and the chicken was juicy and delicious--but after a few bites, I realized the Hot level was hotter than I had imagined. I laughed to myself and thought, "Next time, I'm definitely ordering one level lower." A few minutes later, Patty came back to check on me because it was my first visit. I told her the food was great, but I'd overestimated my spice tolerance. Without hesitation she said, "I'll change it for you." I immediately told her, "No, it's okay. I don't want you to waste food." She smiled and replied, "I want you to enjoy it." That simple statement really impressed me. In today's world, you don't hear that very often. It reminded me of something I had just read about Dave's Hot Chicken--"Keep us honest." Patty truly lived that philosophy. She wasn't just serving food; she genuinely wanted my first experience to be a great one. The food was excellent, but Patty's kindness and customer service made the experience memorable. Everything we ordered was delicious and tasty. For half the chicken, I went with the original but added green onion and their special oriental sauce drizzle. The other half was spicy soy garlic. I'll admit, I liked the original better. I second-guessed myself when the owner's daughter mentioned soy garlic was their number one most popular flavor followed by honey butter, but I thought I would be different and try the spicy version. The spice kind of drowned out that garlicky soy flavor, so lesson learned. Next time I am going straight for the soy garlic and honey butter combo. For drinks, we tried the Korean coffee and cold yuzu drink, both refreshing and a nice complement to the food. By the end of the meal, everything was so good that I even found myself asking about catering their chicken for future events. The vibe inside is really comfortable with soft K-pop playing in the background. It is just enough for atmosphere but not too loud, so you can talk easily. The only tricky part is parking since it is in a busy plaza with a lot of other restaurants, but at least it is free. Overall, this was one of the most unique dining experiences we have had recently, made extra special by Esther and her daughter's hospitality. I love supporting family-owned spots like this, and I will definitely be back to try that famous soy garlic and honey butter chicken next time.

I ordered the Pork Tonkatsu Omurice with curry sauce, which comes with chicken fried rice wrapped in that beautiful fluffy omelet, topped with pork tonkatsu and curry. When they bring it out, they actually ask if you'd like to record the presentation before they cut/open the egg--which, obviously, YES. It's one of those little touches that turns ordering food into an actual experience. And it was BOMB. The egg was fluffy, the pork tonkatsu had that crispy texture, and everything worked really well with the fried rice and curry. The curry itself isn't particularly spicy, so if you're someone who doesn't tolerate much heat, don't let the word curry scare you. It had plenty of flavor without being hot. I recently visited this fried chicken place and had an overall disappointing experience. I ordered 16 pieces, wanting a mix of half cheesling and half soy garlic. However, when I asked for a half-and-half order, they told me they don't do that and suggested I order 8 pieces of each flavor separately. This didn't make much sense to me, especially considering the price for 8 pieces of each was higher than if I had just ordered 16 pieces of one flavor. The real kicker, though, was the cashier's attitude. He seemed uninterested and was doing other tasks while taking our order, making the whole experience feel impersonal and rushed. I didn't want to argue about the order, so I just went ahead with the separate orders, but it really wasn't the best way to start the meal. The hospitality is genuinely warm and welcoming you're treated like a regular even on your first visit. This was actually my first time ever trying Chinese skewers, and wow what an introduction. The skewers are made to order, incredibly fresh, and perfectly seasoned. Every skewer comes out sizzling, packed with bold, smoky, savory flavors that are completely addictive. The food was so good that I almost forgot to take a picture, which says everything. It's the kind of place where passion for food and community truly shines through. We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. Highly recommend we will definitely be back again!

You can tell they're trying to be thoughtful about the decoration and both the staff seemed very warm and welcoming but the meat tasted either overcooked or not the most fresh (which makes sense with how tricky running a good business could be today), the flavor was a bit too intense.. even with alcohol I don't think id enjoy the overly seasoned msg&salt mixture.. both mild and medium spiciness tasted the same, and as much as I adored the super fluffy and friendly cat, I dont think other guests would be cool with it jumping onto our tables or shedding so much of its super soft fur everywhere! Good luck, though!!

Shrimp is charred to perfection. They leave on the last bit of shell for a nice crunch. Servers are very friendly and make you feel like you're at home.
