I stopped by this small thai shop while visiting a coffee shop nearby, and was pleasantly surprised by the price + quality of the food. I ordered the pork pad thai and for $15 including tax, the bowl was hefty! The Thai auntie whipped it up like 5 minutes and it came out steaming hot, taste itself was slightly sweet and sour, and noodles were chewy. We've only done takeout and our orders are usually ready in ~20 minutes. We most recently got their Pad Thai (thin noodle with egg, bean sprouts, green onions, and tofu) at medium spice and their Yellow Curry (chicken, potatoes, onions, and carrots in coconut milk) at mild. Their curries don't come with rice, so make sure to order a side or have some at home already. And we enjoy spicy food, but here medium packs a lot of heat, so we tend to stick to mild. The tom yum soup was no yum... lacking that lemon grassy galangal flavor signature to tom yum... usually the shrimp tom yum would give you a hint more umami but this was lacking shrimp was to rubbery some were sandy in texture (maybe old?) lastly, the pad Thai... it should be sweet, salty, umami, acidic, crunchy and bouncy all wrapped up into one, but the pad Thai was just too sweet... too much sauce, almost slimy, sweet noodles. Very disappointed because I really wanted to support small hole in the wall businesses... 3/5 maybe even 2/5 but don't wanna kill the vibe because they're a small business & also it's still edible and Thai food no matter how bad is still decent imo. I lived in this area from 2010 to 2016. My friend and I were curious since it was just in the corner by our home. We both had been disappointed by Thai food some years ago and never thought we would give it a try. Everytime we passed by it smelled good. So one evening we gave it a try, OH man it was amazing flavors and TRUE Home made Soul Food. We both know it was a family run business. Really nice family. They had two daughters. The older one was usually taking orders in the register Super nice young lady. Also her dad and mom really nice people that got down with flavors in the small kitchen. We went about a year ago. Ran into this tall gal possibly Ellie. Don't know what happened to the other family , but it ain't the Same at all. I hope the original family is doing good. I've been coming here on and off for 15 years but haven't been lately. Today I ordered shrimp pad Thai and chicken pad Thai and it's not how it was before. Delicious and big portions! This place was great and not crowded when I went on a Thursday evening. It's takeout only and you order at the door / window. We ordered the teriyaki chicken all day special, fried rice, and wontons. It took about 15 minutes for them to make and we took it to go. The food was delicious - nice and hot! The teriyaki chicken had a lot of sauce so they wrapped it in foil inside the container which was helpful. They also put it inside of its own bag so that it wouldn't spill all over the other boxes of food- very considerate We also ordered a Coke and were pleasantly surprised by a very tall can of it. Normally I feel guilty buying a Coke at a restaurant where they serve it as a small single can because I'm like, "I paid too much for a small can... I could've bought a pack somewhere with that money..." BUT when they handed us a big Coke can here- I was happily surprised! I can't believe I've lived in Arcadia for 20 years and today was the first time I visited this Thai restaurant. It's a pick up only restaurant with no dine-in. The food did not disappoint. The drunken noodles had big slices of chicken breast, big chucks of tomatoes and big flat flavorful noodles. I loved how you could customize the level of spiciness. I got mild and next time I may upgrade to medium so I can feel a little burn. Some places don't let you customize and I'm always dying from the hotness. I also got the chicken satay.
