Boneless Chicken and Extra Sauces (Secret Sauce & Hot Spicy)
    Paul P.

Mmm, I was craving some Korean fried chicken and this place hit the spot! I've been to the one in NYC Ktown and I think the boneless chicken tastes a bit better here, probably because it's made to order. This place is of course smaller (as it's a food court booth) and it's missing a few things, like triangle kimbap and some sauces (also a bit more expensive for extra sauce compared to NYC), and missing a restaurant/bar in the basement (haha). But did I mention the chicken here tastes better? Very saucy as well! I've got the 20 piece boneless chicken, half honey garlic and half soy garlic. I also got both extra side sauces, the secret sauce (basically just standard seasoning sauce if you grew up eating Korean food without the sesame seeds) and the hot spicy sauce. Tasty! The cheese balls were also surprisingly good! I'm actually not a big fan of these fried rice cake mozzarella balls, but the shell is thin, crispy, and sufficiently cheesey. Also thankful we ordered here just before close, so super thankful to the staff for the food!

Wow there fried chicken wings are INCREDIBLE! This may be the best fried chicken wings I've had! Definitely one of them! They had a lot of meat on the wings, and the chicken was so moist! The wings were so crispy, and perfectly marinated! I loved the honey garlic sauce! The curly fries well seasoned and DELICIOUS! I highly recommend trying bb.q Chicken in Edison!

Great Korean fried chicken spot in Edison! Location: Inside Lotte Supermarket. Once you enter, make a left and walk all the way down until you reach the food court. Order: They make their chicken fresh and it took 20 minutes for my order to be completed. They gave me a buzzer while I walked around shopping in the market. Food: I ordered the Golden Original wings and they were soo good! Fresh, crispy, and juicy on the inside. It wasn't very oily as they use olive oil to make their chicken. Overall, delicious fried chicken wings and I can't wait to come back and try their other flavors!

My son told me about this place so I decided to go with them and give it a try. Pricing $16 for a 10 pc boneless chicken is great when you consider the portion size. We ordered the golden original and one order of honey garlic. We took it to go and got home in ten minutes the chicken was still hot and very crispy. The staff was very pleasant and gave us forks and plates in our bag as well. Took about 15 minutes to get the order and they give you a buzzer so you can shop in the supermarket area while you wait. Only giving this a 4 star because we held the bag properly didn't drop it shake it but the honey garlic sauce leaked out of the box and into the bag.

We pick up these korean fried chicken wings to go from time to time. If you order there it can take anywhere from 20-30 minutes or more if they're busy. Definitely call them and place an order for pick up to cut down on the wait time. You can also shop around the Lotte market while you wait! We've tried a few different flavors but our favorite is definitely the soy garlic wings! Nothing beats the original flavor. I been eating at the BBQ franchise when they only had it in K Town in NYC. This taste just as great as I remember and its so close to home! Always get it with the pickled radish! The flavors compliment each other so well!

Finger Licking Good! Another great experience at the Lotte food court. First time visit to BBQ. Chicken and they did not disappoint. With 11 flavors, there is surely something for everyone! The kids especially loved the "New" Galbi flavor which is a light sweet and savory sauce that has an off the grill flavor. We also tried the soy garlic, the honey garlic and the cheesling. They were all delicious with a big punch of flavor and completely flavored all around, every crevice of chicken was seasoned. The cheesling wings were packed with the seasoning and then some. You can mix your flavors per every 10 wings. When ordering multiple flavors, everything in the order is separated nicely. They offer bone in and boneless chicken. Our bone in wings were big, fat and juicy. Everything is made to order, so there will be a short wait time for a piping hot order of wings. I prefer to wait rather than getting chicken that has been sitting there. The prices are much more reasonable than the neighboring korean chicken spots and imo taste much better. Winner, winner for this chicken dinner!

Atmosphere: 5 So, this restaurant is located in the food court of the Lotte plaza. Knowing that, I am not really rating their atmosphere for its usual warmth, service and cleanliness. Instead, I'm giving them a full 5 points due to the convenience of their location. For those who want to order food and then head off to pick up some groceries, it is super convenient. The menu is posted on the wall, but keep in mind that they do take about 20-25 minutes for the food to get ready. There are some chairs and tables for those who are dining in to eat, or you can sit while waiting. Portion: 5 The sizes of the chicken are actually quite big and their chicken thighs are comparable to KFC for example. There is a ton of tenders as well when you order the tenders. I love that the order comes with radishes because it's a great balance to the fried and spicy food. Flavor: 5 The spicy flavor is perfect amount of heat for me. I have not tried the Diablo flavor, but judging by their "chili rating," I'd have to admit that I might not be able to handle it. Their spicy flavor is just perfect for me and that's at 3 chili rating! Diablo has 5 or something like that. I wasn't sure what to expect from their cheeseling flavor, but it was actually really tasty. They put cheese powder on their chicken that's really flavorful. This isn't the first time we ordered from there and really love their chicken. They're flavorful, have a variety of choices, and well seasoned.

I'm craving BBQ chicken as I am writing up this review. Every time I'm in the Edison area, I always try to get Korean Fried Chicken from this location. I've tried other BBQ Chicken chains before but this one is really good! I usually don't like boneless but I actually prefer it here (they use dark meat). I also enjoy the dry rubs better as it's more crunchier but the fried chicken in the sauces are good as well. The chicken taste the best when you eat it fresh (literally inside the Lotte Market) but also great for later, just put it in the air fryer. Every order comes with side of pickled radish. You can also now order online in advance so when you pick up, it's ready to go. Prices are very reasonable and staff is friendly :)

Cheese up top, honey garlic on the bottom

Originally we were going to try out another Korean Fried chicken place, but it didn't open until 4pm. So when we remembered that we hadn't tried this place yet, we immediately took a trip to Lotte supermarket. It is conveniently located in a food court inside a Korean supermarket, alongside 2 other Korean food vendors and a bubble tea place, gong cha. We decided to order the 20 piece bone in with half honey garlic and half cheese seasoning. The honey garlic was a wet sauce and the cheese was a dry seasoning. My husband loved the honey garlic but I found it to be a bit too sweet. I loved the cheese one more and the crispy skin was super tasty. By the time we got home to eat it, the skin was still crunchy. Most American fried chicken would of been soggy by now so we were both amazed at how it was able to retain the crispness. Definitely recommend this place if you are crazing fried chicken. There is a bit of a wait though so I would order the food first and then go walk around the supermarket.

I've been here a couple of times before quarantine AND after quarantine started and I just have to say that they've been strong and consistent with providing us the freshest yummiest KFC ever in a timely manner. By default, they take anywhere between 20 to 25 minutes to make your order after it's placed, which lets you know that they only make your orders fresh. It's the perfect amount of time for you to either make the drive over, or get some grocery shopping done within the market before eating. I always order hot and spicy flavor as well as soy garlic flavor because they're both delicious and cover the taste buds of everyone in my group -- I'm personally a huge fan of the hot and spicy! During COVID, the seating is now open in the food court. Tables are spaced out and there are quite a few, although not plenty. My boyfriend and I still opted to eat in the car though, so up to you! Overall I love this fried chicken place and I think it's the best KFC place in town, easily beating out Bonchon and Boom Boom Chicken. Definitely worth the visit!! P.S. Keep in mind the drumsticks are huge so don't underestimate the order of 5 drumsticks. Another thing is that you can't order half half sauces for drumstick and wing orders, but you can order half half for a full chicken.

I heard that this place had really good fried chicken so my brother and I had to come give it a try. The staff: They are friendly and very courteous to their customers. Waffle Fries: These waffle fries are really good and it is to the crisp. Sweet Potato Fries: These are very delicious and is very flavorful. Cheesling Chicken: This has a lot of powder and is not my cup of tea but my brother loved it. Secret Spicy Chicken: This is pretty good and does have a kick in spice to it. BB Wings: When you get it spicy it gives you that extra spice kick. Even when you get it plain, it tastes just as good. Cupbobs: The cupbobs are really good depending on when they have it in stock. Overall: I have to admit that the chicken is pretty good here but makes me really thirsty. I will always come here for the amazing waffle fries. If you like fried chicken then give this place a try. This is one of the good fried chicken places in NJ.

Amazing korean fried chicken! Probably my favorite place. They fry their chicken in olive oil so it'll make you feel healthy-ish eating it too. Definitely order ahead if you can as it does take almost 30 minutes to prepare, which is what the website says as well. Wings come in sets of 10 and drumsticks in 5 (they're much larger). I'd recommend the soy garlic or original olive chicken. The skin is SO crispy and flavorful while the meat is super juicy and tender. Their original olive chicken has no sauce but still tastes great because of the olive oil. The chicken is pretty drenched in sauce and because of it, it gets heavy quick. Sauce is on the sweeter side as well (which is why I recommend the soy over honey garlic). You can get takeout and the skin will still be crispy. Amazing chicken, will always have a craving for this.

Upon entertaining on a weekend evening, there were a few tables with patrons but not too busy. The restaurant did seem a bit understaffed with only one person taking orders / bringing food out, making it difficult to flag down this one person to successfully take our order and ask for anything additional throughout the night. Gyudon: for the price, we were really surprised at how small of a portion this was. It was not only in a small bowl, but the meat was layered on top perfectly deceiving you to think that there was more than there actually was. The majority of this dish was rice, and with limited sauce at that. As displayed on the menu images it was to be served with a runny egg, but unfortunately we got a fully cooked one (disappointing, as we were looking for something to mix with the rice!) Sushi: We got a 3 rolls and they were just alright. They were pretty small in size, with less rice than I'm used to (which is something I do like - I would rather more fish than rice!) With us getting spicy salmon, spicy tuna, and spicy scallop - they all kind of tasted the same, so I wish the fish wasn't as heavily masked with spicy mayo. Ramen: I got the black garlic ramen, and it wasn't the best, but wasn't the worst. I've purchased fresh ramen packages in the supermarket before and it tasted just like that, so it made me disappointed knowing I could achieve the same at home. The soup itself was extremely rich and fatty, and the charsiu had no flavor whatsoever leaving much to be desired. The main reason I'm rating this so low is upon having my last bites of sushi, I could tell something was off. I don't recall which specifically I had but I made a statement that it was extremely fishy and off putting. Fast forward later that night, I was hunched over the toilet vomiting with stomach pain - and I can deduct that the sushi was the culprit. I might consider trying Ottoyee again due to the great deals they have listed on food delivery apps, but the sushi quality (quite literally) put a bad taste in my mouth.
