I was first turned on to CRCR by good friend and former owner of Bread and Butter Chris Herrin. A few months later while dining at Eat in downtown, I enjoyed that same delicious smooth cuppa joe,(unfortunatey, both B&B and Eat no longer use them) and knowing that they were in Boulder City, I knew one of these days I HAD TO go straight to the source. Pulling up to their storefront, it looks like nothing from the outside but as you enter, the smell of roasting coffee beans hit you like WOW!!! We met Don and Erik Anderson who are responsible for making some of the most delicious coffee you will have ever tasted(if you haven't yet). They were even nice enough to give us a little behind the scenes tour and explain their delicate roasting process using state of the art equipment (infrared heat, not open fire) and even offered tips on how to enjoy their product in the best possible way. We decided to grab a bag of one of Eirk's favorite blends-Bolivia: Amor De Dios, a 12 ounce bag for $10. If you're looking for a specific characteristic, flavor, etc. they have other blends available and Erik will be more than happy to point you in the right direction. If you haven't had a taste of Colorado River Coffee Roasters, places like Grouchy John's, Great Harvest Bread Company, and Sambalatte have their own blends from CRCR that they serve up. You may also purchase coffee from CRCR online which will be delivered right to your doorstep, or better yet, take a drive to Boulder City and go straight to the source and get an even fresher product! Here are some helpful tips that Erik and Don suggested: COFFEE: DO NOT grind the beans fine...a coarse grind is suggested WATER: DO NOT boil your water!... 200 degrees Farenheit... no higher! EQUIPMENT: No fancy equipment/gadgets here- a FRENCH PRESS is their weapon of choice, and how Erik and Don enjoy the fruits of their labor.... DOSAGE: Start with an equal ratio of 1 gram beans to 1 gram water and steep for 4 minutes...if it isn't strong enough, increase the beans to your liking STORAGE: Store beans in a cool, dark place....DO NOT refrigerate or freeze!!! BEST BY: Enjoy within 1 MONTH of purchase Erik and Don have also been chosen as one of the top seeded companies to compete later this year on the National level in Seattle with the best in the country. We decided to sit outside and they brought us our food and a sample of the soup of the day as a complementary treat (or it was included with our orders, not 100% sure) the soup was a ham/lentil/bacon recipe and it was delicious. My wrap was pretty tasty too, it could have used something to add crunch, maybe wonton strips or something like that. The flavor was great though. My wife's pizza was a bit too cheesy and slightly undercooked, but it was still tasty. If we ordered that again I'd probably ask they cooked it a couple minutes longer. The "small" salad was HUGE! I can't imagine what the large is like and I can't believe the price for what you get there. It looked amazing and fresh. My sister in law said it was very good. Overall I do think they have a couple things to work on but I loved the experience and I would come again if I was in the area. The vibe is very social and family-friendly, with lots of conversation, families, and groups. There was a sign up front that asked guests to be prepared to wait longer times so I really tried to be patient. I waited. After 40 minutes still standing up front I still had no crepe. I asked the cashier if she remembered me and she said my order would be ready momentarily. I took a closer look at the order and noticed that the gluten free crepe was buckwheat batter of which when I ordered they didn't make mention of this. Due to my allergies and sensitivity I had to wait again to speak with someone else who appeared to be managing, perhaps the owner. He claimed they make their own batter and brought out the bag of buckwheat flour. Then read on google the ingredients. I really thought a gluten free crepe was mainly made of alternative flour such as coconut flour--not here. I also pulled up this information however I did not want to take a risk. He told the cashier at the counter to issue me a refund and he turned back around to make more coffee orders. I overall felt like I had wasted my time here. I used to take my kids here and haven't been here since they remodeled and expanded. I was by myself and really just wanted something to eat but was not offered anything else. That part upset me the most. Then my refund took a week long. Really thought the refund should have been immediately. The cafe is really cute! I love the decor and feel in here but just really disappointed in this whole experience and not the best quality of customer service. Located on Horizon Ridge Parkway in Green Valley.

On the way to Lake Mead from Las Vegas, there isn't much to see or visit on that small strip of highway in Boulder City. Too my surprise I came across the grand opening of BBB bakery so I decided to stop and check it out and what a surprise it was. The decor was reminiscent of a modern day model home and was quite homey and inviting. I have never heard of a bakery having a dry ager let alone 2 dry agers for everyone to see and it was being put to good use as I witnessed 2 massive rib roasts in the process of being aged. And thats just the beginning. The display case in front of both dry agers had shaved prosciutto, full 1 inch thick prosciutto steaks, 3/4 inch thick big slabs of A5 japanese A5 wagyu from Miyazaki prefecture that were sunflower fed not your normal olive mash fed that is customary for A5 wagyu. The display also contained dry aged ribeye (45 day aged), as well as a various assortment of cheeses and olives! Another display case had "The Plain" banana bread which, to my discovery, was what put them on the map to begin with (BBB Bakery - Best Banana Bread Bakery). I arrived there at approximately 8:15am and they had just opened and I was quite famished so instead of having a normal breakfast, I decided on ordering the pastrami melt and paired it with the strawberry matcha and also ordered a cinnamon roll to go. Let me start with the pastrami melt; it was FANTASTIC! I have never had a pastami melt that was pressed toasted and that pressed toast made it fantastic because of the slight crunch and the pastrami itself was delicious. The strawberry matcha; EXCELLENT and REFRESHING! I was supposed to save the cinnamon roll as dessert for later at home but opted to consume it there and THAT was the literal icing on the cake! In my 55 years of living I have never had a cinnamon roll THAT decadent. It was THEE Perfect cinnamon roll I have ever had in my entire life and what made the difference between all others? They used ALOT of cream icing which in itself was beyond Tasty. The food was so delicious that I totally forgot to order their banana bread! I even joked with the owner, Keagan, to rename that cinnamon roll the "Diabetic Ambrosia". The owner and operator, Keagan was very present with his customers and had a pleasant charm with all his customers. His staff was extremely friendly and hospitable. I will definitely come back again not because I forgot to order the banana bread but because the food was excellent and with one of the friendliest staffs! The best bakery in Boulder City! We're so lucky to have such a great place to buy fresh baked bread, pasta and sauces and the biggest cookies not to mention the best cinnamon roll I've ever had! If you haven't stopped in yet, the friendly staff will greet you upon stepping inside. You'll have a difficult time deciding what to purchase because it all looks incredibly delicious!
