We wanted to go out for drinks after work and saw online that this place was open late so we came here at around 10 pm after work. Not many places are open that late around here so that was nice. When we sat down, the waitress came to our table and asked us what we wanted to drink, but didn't bring us menus. So we had to ask for menus and then had to ask again for the cocktail menu which is something I've never had to do before. The cocktail menu they provided us did not match their cocktail menu online which was disappointing. Besides that, everything else was fine. We got the nachos as an app which was pretty big so it was good to share. The nachos also had fresh jalapeños which we appreciated. I met a nice relative here, and had a fun lunch. Jazz (Jasmine) was our server. She is one of my favorite servers. I recognized her from a former restaurant that I used to go to. I had a crab cake sandwich and French fries ( four out of five). I was pleased, because most places in Delaware have extremely mediocre crab cakes. We sat outside. It was very nice. Came for lunch on a Friday afternoon and this place was packed including the bar area and the outdoor area with heaters. Not to mention the parking lot was full and not able to park close to the restaurant. The inside of the restaurant very dim. We were able to get a table near a fire place. Side note: our sever had way too many tables not sure if this is the normal Friday lunch rush. Now onto the food. I ordered the soup of the day. It was served in a metal bowl which to me should have kept the soup nice and hot. The soup was just warm which was a let down. The blackened chicken Cesar salad was good. My partner and I went the other day for dinner and the experience was not good. It took so long to get the appetizers and once the appetizers came, the entrees came, which is not the point of having an appetizer. The dinners were not good, the meatloaf was rubbery and the mash potatoes seems they came from a box, ugh. Awful. The green beans were so hard, they were awful. My partners dinner, he said, was awful. The ribs were chewy and dry, even tho there was sauce. The caesar salad was dry, they never put enough dressing on there and I already talked about the mash potatoes. I don't know if they got a new cook but he is terrible. This has been going on for the past 3 times we were there. We have been going there for over 10 yrs and the food was never bad. You see young girls working there with the shortest shorts and skirts there, there underwear shows. Yet the prices keep going up. The manager there should realize this and make corrections! Showed up at 1pm this past Friday and the place was very busy. We were able to get the last four top in the bar area after seeing the hostess. Lots of TV's, but the place itself is a bit dark. Decent draft list and a very extensive specials. Not sure if these are offered all the time, but we had a lengthy printout for them. No apps, just our meals. I had the spicy chicken sandwich. The jalapeno slaw was great and it was thigh meat, which can be hit or miss. After a couple chewy bites, the hunk of crispy chicken was quite good. The weather was warm out so we sat outside under the canopy which was nice though the 1960's style wrought iron chairs were uncomfortable and backs way too flexi to sit back in otherwise you'd tip over! I came here with a group of five on a Saturday night and was seated right away. There is plenty of outdoor seating which is nice. This is place where you can dress up or dress down and both work great. To start we had the nachos, which one of the people in our party convinced us to get after saying they were her favorite nachos ever. Just the half order is plenty for a table to share! I ordered the Blacken Chicken Caesar salad. It was better than just a basic Caesar salad, as the chicken was seasoned nicely and the crotons seemed fresh. For dessert some of us order the caramel ice cream. I had low expectations, as with any restaurant ice cream, but was pleasantly surprised. The ice cream was actually really good and creamy! I would need to keep trying other things on the menu to raise my rating another star, but I would definitely want to come back again. We've been here a few times the past month. It is a great place for families with children or single adults. This past time, we had an excellent dinner, our server was so friendly, and the Mahi entree was absolutely amazing (see pic). Our kids enjoyed their meals. We've eaten here quite a few times since my last review and the food continues to be delicious and service continues to be good. I continue to have the same complaint about that one hostess. She is just incredibly grumpy and while she's never been snotty to us directly, she just makes me so uncomfortable and she always ignores our reservation notes request. I will say though that she was setting a table near where my friends and I were sitting a few months back, and my one friend actually made her smile so that was a shock and a half. When we went this past Saturday night she must have been off and the mood at the hostess stand was so much better. It seems so much more relaxed and I can't tell you how much better it felt to be set by a hostess who knows how to smile and engage with her customers. Now all you need to do is get your shxt together. based on that last restaurant inspection that you failed miserably with some disgusting violations. Your owner is clearly not paying attention to this restaurant When I read about your restaurant violations in the news journal this morning, I was incredibly disappointed and actually wanted to vomit because this was probably going on when we were there on Saturday.. I ate here about six years ago and didn't return until last night. I wish I had remembered why I hadn't gone in six years. The meal was revolting from start to finish. First of all, the room they sat us in was FREEZING cold, to the point where every customer had coats on, including us. We started off with chicken dumplings that were advertised as "pan seared." They were NOT pan seared/potstickers, they were very deep fried, obviously pre-frozen dumplings with a mushy, dog-food tasting filling. They most likely came from a bag of cheapo frozen dumplings like the kind they sell at discount grocery stores. Next we followed up with soups: French onion and creamy mushroom. The French onion was straight-up inedible because it was just black concentrated bullion. It was so concentrated it was literally black, and so salty that it was impossible to eat. We were forced to send it back. The mushroom soup was loaded with "truffle oil" that was floating on top, but it didn't have any truffle flavor. It was just overly fatty and oily. It also tasted like they loaded the soup with parmesean cheese, which totally overwhelmed the flavors of the mushrooms. Next up came the "seared" tuna tatake, which was $18 for about two ounces of raw fish. Rather than being freshly seared, as one would expect for $18, it was very obviously premade and crusted with cold untoasted sesame seeds, and then thrown into the fridge. It was ice cold and the tuna was incredibly low quality. It was the kind that was really tough, with stringy white sinew running through it so it was impossible to chew through. It was inedible. My husband had a mediocre salad topped with chicken, and a horrible, overly sweet dressing, and bacon that also had been sitting around in the fridge. To be fair, they did take the tuna and French onion soup off of the bill, but the tab still came to a whopping $97.00 for one appetizer, two soups and one salad, no entrees. All I ended up eating was two dumplings and a few bites of soup. I did have two glasses of wine. It's obvious that they take as many shortcuts as possible, don't use fresh ingredients, don't cook anything to order, and use the lowest of the low quality ingredients for everything. When we got home I had to have a whole meal right afterwards, and I deeply regret the $97.00 we lost on that pile of garbage. You'd think that in ritzy, expensive Greenville, they would do better. Start with high quality ingredients and secondly, even McDonald's cooks my food to order when requested, so I'm sure BBC Tavern and Grill in Greenville De can manage to do so as well. I definitely expect that I will not be receiving icy cold leftovers out of the refrigerator at that price point. I can get those at home. read more

You really can't go wrong with BBC. They have great outdoor seating (with heat lamps!) and most of the time the service is pretty quick (slower when busy, which is understandable). They also have a really diverse menu, easy to eat healthy here, but plenty of "cheat meal" items too. Must haves from their menu: jamjoe's nachos (huge portion, plenty to share), poke bowl (on the appetizer menu but I get it as an entree), blackened chicken Caesar salad, bbc burger, turkey blta wrap, and the shrimp tacos. Only complaint is they got rid of the tuna tataki appetizer! read more

Visited on a Tuesday evening and surprisingly, they had a good little crowd, but fortunately a fair amount of available tables. Decided to sit outside, as the weather was perfect. Waitress greeted us promptly and took our drink and appetizer order, couple of beers and an order of wings. Wings didn't take long, and they were pretty good-meaty and not over sauced. For dinner we ordered a burger, medium/well, and a salad. Salad was fine, but i was pretty disappointed in the burger. I had to wait about ten minutes for ketchup, after asking a couple of times. I was a little concerned with the outside look of the burger that it wasn't cooked medium/well, and my suspicions were confirmed upon biting into it. Burger was practically raw, to the point could only eat half. Waitress was fairly absent during the whole meal, so we just paid our bill and left. Out of convenience, though, we will likely return, as previous meals have been decent. read more

I don't live far from here at all but surprisingly just went in for the first time. The menu seems to be classic, American fare. Steaks, salads, burgers, etc. My husband and I went in for a week day lunch. Our server was great. I didn't get her name, but she was attentive and did a great job. We didn't get drinks as I was working that day, so we both had cokes. My husband ordered the steak sandwich for his entree and I had the steak salad. We also split the goat cheese appetizer. We really enjoyed the appetizer, you really can never go wrong with fried goat cheese. They nailed it. The flavors of my salad were fantastic. Unfortunately the cut of steak on it, was tasty, but so very fatty. I was probably only able to eat about half of the steak, maybe less. That said, my husband said the cut of steak on his sandwich was fantastic. So luck of the draw I guess? I just wish that weren't the case. I would still return. And I'd like to sit at the bar sometime as I enjoy the setup. I'll likely go back for happy hour sometime soon. My grandmother and I come to BBC tavern at least once a month! We clearly enjoy their salmon very much. I wish they had their salmon with butternut squash orzo allllll the time but when it's summer, a close second is the strawberry salmon salad. I add their fried goat cheese balls for a nice bite. Joined a relatively large group of friends for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and had an enjoyable experience, though the food was just okay for me. We were seated in the main dining room, one table away from their large fireplace which gave it a cozy, warm atmosphere. Our server was sweet and anticipated some of our needs (ex: asking if we'd need separate checks before our bills were ready), but did seem a bit overwhelmed , especially as she was taking orders and those who were not actively ordering kept socializing. She also brought our bills without asking if we wanted more drinks/dessert/anything else --- several members of our party were considering ordering dessert and wound up going out for ice cream because it seemed easier/preferable to asking her to bring dessert menus after the fact. I tried a few bites of the brussels sprouts appetizer made with balsamic vinegar and shredded parmesan, which was fine but nothing that I'd rush back to order. For my meal, I ordered the Farmer's Market Salad featuring roasted brussels, sweet potatoes, and beets because I was craving a healthier option. The salad is advertised as vegan, but mine somehow had a piece of grilled chicken mixed in (luckily, I'm not actually a vegetarian). The salad itself was not well mixed and the ratios of the toppings were odd --- there was literally one sliver of red onion (maybe it wasn't intended to be in the salad?) and maybe one tablespoon of roasted beets all clustered together. A ok! BBC is solid. I have been here a few times now. Have never sat outside although they have ample outside seating. I have had lunch here once and the Buffalo chicken cheese steak was good, nothing crazy...the roll left a bit to be desired but all around solid. The other times I have been here was just for sitting at the bar for drinks. I would say the near application is for happy hour a a bite or maybe a lunch, since that is what I have experienced and it was satisfactory. It's a good options since everything else.
