New restaurant don't know if it's black owned or not but we are well represented. The staff is friendly and the ribs are tender and tasty. I haven't ordered anything other than the ribs and fries. Everything else seems a little pricey for me since there's a soul food place across the street that's a lot cheaper than what their menu reflects. I eat at all the locations and I have to say there new move and picking up a breakfast menu probably was their greatest downfall I ordered 1lb rib tips and I have 12 solid bones in that 1lb. out of all of that I had maybe 3 pieces strictly meat and they tasted like leftovers. I was introduced to this restaurant about 5 months ago. I ordered the beef ribs for my mom.. she absolutely loved them. I then had to order them once a week for her ever since. We gave her a 89th party in June and I catered some of the ribs in and every guest said they enjoyed the ribs. Two guests ordered some more the following weekend! I don't eat meat, but I'm told they're tender, seasoned well and they give you a nice portion. The sides are delicious too. I had ordered from here before and the food was spot on! I especially liked the turkey chops. I had ordered the dinner before and it came with 2 large sides and two chops. I had been telling my friends about how fabulous they were, so I decided to order two orders of meat only chops not the dinner through uber eats. When my order arrived, there were only two chops inside. I called them and was told that each chop is $10. I didn't understand how you could purchase an ENTIRE meal complete with TWO large sides for $19, but pay $10 EACH for chops.When you order on the app it says (turkey chops) meat only. Went there yesterday, 10/20/19, and purchased 1/2 bbq chicken with two sides. Upon arriving home I did not have a 1/2 of chicken (equals 4 pieces - drum, thigh, wing with partial attached breast) instead I was given a wing with the attached breast (1/4). Called them and the same lady that waited on me answered the phone. She stated I was given 1/2 of a chicken. Tried to explain to her I was given 1/4 of a chicken. Welp. In 1 word. Disappointed. Came from out of town to try this place after seeing it featured on "Live on the D". Beef ribs on tv looked meaty. We arrived at 2 pm and ribs wouldn't be ready for another 2 hrs. They referred us to their store in another location. We went there and they had our order ready when we arrived. We drove 35 mins back home. When we opened the containers the beef ribs were really sorry looking, more bone than meat, definitely NOT what we saw advertised on TV. The greens tasted like canned. Baked beans were pretty good. Again canned with a couple small pieces of onion and pepper added. The 2 little squares of cornbread were good enough to eat, but for $40 it was all very disappointing. Discovered BBQ Central on Doordash and haven't looked back since. I love the pork ribs, the chicken and salmon is tasty too. They also have delicious sides. I learned to only order from the 7 mile location because they are superior than the other location in terms of taste, quality and customer service. I just order a turkey chop meal with cabbage and Mac and cheese from the greenfield location, and I just have to say wow. It was so good with a pretty decent amount. The cooks Curtis and Jewel did and excellent job. The turkey chops was fried and seasoned just right and the sides were too. If you are ever in that area I truly recommend them. I called in just to inquire about how they were handling orders for the Memorial Day weekend and first thing when the woman answered very rudely with "We are not taking any orders first come first serve" I had a simple question just as any customer might when I say she was SO RUDE I was just taken a back at how they are a new business, featured on the local news, and talk to a potential customer like that. I ha spoke very highly of them to others sent them a few new customers. This is a BIG problem with these type of businesses they say come do business with us, but don't know how to treat customers. Make up your mind, you have to be ready for the mass volume of customers and all that can come with it, and being rude or short is not the way. Our first visits at BBQ Central on McNichols & Southfield when they first opened for pickup were very good. The pork ribs were smoked beautifully and had great flavor even without the sauce. The sides were just ok. The smoked wings and quarter chicken white meat were surprisingly juicy and also flavorful. But on my last visit for Mother's Day it was disappointing. I ordered both the beef and pork full slabs and an order of the smoked wings for our family gathering. We did our own sides. The wings were very good, however the beef ribs were fatty and the pork ribs weren't smoked and not as good. I don't know what happened, I ordered it at 1:00 an hour after they opened that Sunday. I wasn't happy especially after telling my family how great their ribs were. Since that was the first time I was not happy with my order, I will try them again just to see if that last order was a disappointing fluke. I know they get their food from the one located on 7 Mile.
