They said it was due to the grill being backed up, but to their credit, it was ready right when I arrived and tasted fresh. The burrito itself was really solid. The grilled cheese crust on the outside was a nice touch, but what stood out even more was the underside--it had this flaky, crispy texture that made every bite satisfying. Flavor-wise, the bacon definitely carried the dish with a great smoky taste, and you'd occasionally get a nice kick from the jalapeño. The eggs were there, but I didn't notice many had brown potatoes. The few that were in there had that slightly chewy/hard/gummy texture you get from like next-day reheated hash browns, so I'm not sure what was going on there. Fresh, crispy potatoes or even their fresh fries would have taken this to the next level. Overall though, really good burrito with great texture and strong smoky flavor--just a couple tweaks away from being excellent! Also got 5 wings to try, with Carolina Gold sauce. They were great!

"The Sauce" on the burger was a nice touch, as was the "313 sauce" and kewpie mayo on the chicken sandwich. The fries had a classic taste to them, similar to McDonald's fries. I've had the cheese bread twice now, and it's about what you'd expect it to be. I will say, the first time I had it was better than the second. I recommend getting the garlic butter dip. As for the wings, they were just okay, but I'd be willing to give them another try. All things considered, Johnny Z's is a solid, local pizza place, and is better than your typical pizza chain.
