Yep. I'm back. I stopped going to Bad Brad's awhile back, though I'm not sure why. I had been going to that place in Roseville, but their sides weren't that good and their Brisket was just Ok. So this time around I went to Bad Brad's. It's a bit closer and I wanted to spend more time with family that cavorting up and down I-94. So I basically ordered the same items but from Bad Brad's. I was pleased with the St. Louis style ribs, BBQ Chicken and the Brisket. Very good and the family agreed. Keep up the good work and looking forward to my next visit. read more

We typically get bbq from here maybe three times a month. This last year or so things have changed. The bbq sauce (321) is so watery in consistency, it was never a super thick sauce but now it just runs everywhere. The ribs I stopped ordering as they were dry and were not meaty(Shelby) . I typically would order the side (4 bones?) but after sending them back two times to get fresh ribs I just stopped ordering them. The coleslaw has changed so much I could care less if I get it anymore. Used to be my fav coleslaw out there. If the burnt ends order gets any smaller they may as well just serve it rolled up in a piece of foil. The last 4 times the two of us about fought over the order. We then ordered two orders to go. Will not do that again $$$. In fact we just learned to make our own that we enjoy just as much. The Mickey just is not that good anymore. The sauces are just too runny. Our other fave the nachos are yummy although the amount of cheese and chicken can vary. Hope they take a good long look and make a few adjustments. One can only hope. Ok I loveeeee the bbq chicken salad! It started out at like $10 or 11.99. After Covid it's $16 and some change AND it's only half the lettuce and chicken cheese etc.... You can't even modify it and get extra chicken or chips you have to order a whole extra thing of chicken, which is four dollars and a whole bag of the chips which is another four dollars, so I paid $28 for a barbecue chicken salad that barely feeds 2 people and it's bag lettuce and I know it's bag lettuce because it smells all musty and mildewy! never ever again am I going here and paying almost $30 for a salad??? come on man that's ridiculous, especially since you raised the price and then shrinkflationd the hell out of it Apparently, you have to be rich to order food from here. Ordered the grilled chicken ... pretty tasty, the sweet potato mash was good, reminded me of sweet potato pie, and the cornbread was good! We weren't fans of the Mac and cheese... the ribs were decent, not the best or the worst we've ever had... the bbq sauce is not right (that needs to be worked on), the brisket sandwich was tasty as well! This is the second time I was there where the brisket was terrible. I literally ate three pieces of a 2 pound barbecue. Disgusting I'm not sure whether it wasn't cooked long enough, but it was mostly uneditable. Im not going back there. Bad Brads BBQ is pretty good. I love the beef brisket. It's tender not fatty. My personal favorite is its collar greens with beans. It's delicious. What I don't care for is its BBQ because it tastes like oven ribs instead of from a smoker or an open grill. That's just me. But for the average Joe they would enjoy them. read more

I have a mixed review. First their curbside service, from ordering to pickup was fantastic. The food was a mix of really good and not so much. The uptown fries were very good the candied red onion and brisket are the stars of that plate. The coleslaw was also good, creamy and very fresh. Never had Bad Brads before until today, was browsing DoorDash and my fiancé and I decided to give them a try and splurge since quarantine sucks. We got the BBQ Nachos and the half rack of St. Louis Ribs (included 2 side which I chose BBQ Chili and Fries). The price hurt a little bit as the half rack of ribs and 2 sides is $20, however, they hands down were the BEST ribs I've ever had. I honestly think if they serve ribs in heaven Bad Brads Ribs would be what you would get. With my ribs I got 3 different sauces I wanted to try which was sweet, 321 and spicy, they were all good in their own way but I specifically loved the spicy bbq sauce. The BBQ Nachos were also fantastic. They arrived is a small pizza box (so you get A LOT). It was FULL of delicious toppings and chips. Also very much recommend them. The fries were tasty and crispy (better than most fries you get at other restaurants) and the chili was also very good. Overall my first impression and experience with Bad Brads food is I highly recommend it if you're looking for something different when you have a BBQ craving and have the extra money. First, the quick on the three stars...Price to taste value. This is the second order on this specific day to save face for ribs bought just over an hour early elsewhere. Placed the order over the phone with on small oversight being I did not ask for the cost. So we get there and ready to pay. She goes $45 wah whoa wah. After a just so slight pause of shock and awe, doubting what I just heard and taken back, I go wait what? She repeated as I follow with a quick what did I order? She says the cost of ribs keep going up followed by me with for a slab? I'm like WTHeck and a few other select in my mind words of what did I do. We had been stuck in lockdown for 45+ days and finally decided to order carry out. We decided that we would keep our money local and only go to small businesses to do our part. The first place we decided was Brad's. We had ordered from here before, and love all of their restaurants, so it was a pretty easy decision. After cooking EVERY meal at home for what felt like forever, this was going to be the best meal ever. lol We ordered sandwiches and fries, and paid online. It was very quick and easy. This location (Carry Out only) does not have all of the same items as the restaurants. There are only a handful of differences, but it is all tasty! They have a great curbside system right now. When you arrive, there are big signs directing you to call or text when you spot number and order name, and they will bring your order right now. My order was brought out right on time and was nice and hot. Food was great as always. I have usually been very satisfied with Bad Brads but this time there was something wrong. The use an egg salad type mixture and it was pasty and bland with a questionable flavor to it. The 3 salad cores along with the slimy leaves gave it that extra no thank you for me. My wife ordered the same and the same feedback from her salad. Bad Brad's is hands down some of the best BBQ that you can find in Michigan. I love that there is a carry out spot close to my house. I like to keep things simple with a 2 meat platter. The burnt ends are an additional $3.50 but well worth it to have them on the plate. The pulled chicken is smoky and juicy. Delicious. The pit beans are smoky and with a deep BBQ sauce flavor. The fries are crispy and the seasoning salt is strong which I like. I can't say enough about the sauces either. The 321 is their signature sauce and you can't go wrong. Followed closely for me by the mustard base sauce and then the sweet BBQ. If you haven't had Brad's - find one this week and give them a try. You won't be disappointed! read more

My friend really enjoys BBQ and Bad Brads happens to be one of his favorite spots. We ordered the bbq chicken nachos, with a side of sour cream for me. (I can't live without sour cream) He ended up choosing a 3 meat platter, which included: chicken, pulled pork and brisket. The platter came with two sides and we decided to try the collard greens and chili, cheese grits. I am in LOVE, let me repeat, IN LOVE with the nachos. I find myself to be a expert in nachos, or truly anything covered in cheese. haha I could place an order every day just for these amazing nachos. We also enjoyed the platter, but the brisket was a bit dry for my liking, but overall, better than most places for bbq. My "new" most favorite thing to eat, collard greens! Order take out today ( only curb side to go is offered/ I understand that) my order was suppose to be ready at 7:09 and then they have you text them to tell them you're there. I parked at 7:06, texted,.. and then proceeded to wait until 7:23 to get my order. The car next to me pulled up at 7:16, and they're food was immediately brought out. I asked what time they order was suppose to be ready and they said 7:20!! I asked the man running out food about my order and he then brought out another order before bringing out mine. I asked him when he brought it out if it's been sitting there and he said " oh no we're just extremely behind tonight sorry".... my food was freezing cold. I had another pick up order to get or else I would have just ask them to remake it. However this review isn't necessarily about the quality of the food ( however it's sucked since it was cold) but it's more about the flat out lie being told my their employee. For $50 I would have appreciated if he would have just been up front and said they forgot about my order while running it out. This is only my second visit but definitely won't be the last and plan to return sooner than later. This is the carry out location so you can't dine in here. It's best to call ahead so you can just grab and go. However it doesn't matter what you order everything is is pretty DARN good. I've had the ribs pulled pork, pulled chicken, brisket and the sausage and was pleased with all of them. The mac and cheese has good flavor but I think the noodles were a tad over cooked, however, it was still good. My friend and I ordered this through Door Dash. It was my first time trying it, but I've heard about it through co-workers a while back. My friend likes it, so she treated me to it. The Good - Their sides are great, outshines the BBQ to be honest. I especially enjoyed the chili and grits. What an odd combination? Surprisingly, it was really really good. The garlic broccoli was pretty decent. It needed a little salt for taste, but it was steamed well and complimented the meat. Their steak fries were pretty good and crispy. They're even better drenched in BBQ sauce. Lastly, I enjoyed the pulled pork. It was very tender and didn't get stuck in my teeth. The Bad - It shames me to say this, but their chopped brisket was not good at all. It was tender, but lacked taste. I had to use quite a bit of sauce to try to enjoy it. I ended up giving half of it to my friend's dog. Maybe next time, I'll go with the sliced brisket. It's still my favorite meat, but not on this night. Their spicy sauce wasn't spicy at all. Matter of fact, I think they labeled the wrong container. The Verdict - Will I eat here again? Sure! There were more positives than negatives, but I hope the main course wow me next time because the sides are the winners here. read more
