This place is a total scam! Do yourself a favor--look for a company with better Yelp reviews. You'll save money and avoid the frustration! They charge you for on-site inspections, and if you pay by card, they impose ridiculously high fees, essentially forcing you to do business with them. On top of that, they find all kinds of excuses to overcharge for inspection fees. Last time, they charged me $160 for an inspection, which couldn't even be fully applied toward the service--it's clear they're money-hungry to the extreme. The business is run by the owner, his daughter, and a technician. Their communication is terrible--none of them seem to know what the others are doing. Here are just a few of the issues I encountered: 1. Terrible Appointment System: They take days to respond to appointment requests. If you don't reply instantly, they'll ghost you for several days, resulting in an appointment being pushed back by three weeks. 2. Suspicious Payment Practices: They insisted we pay in cash to get a discount, which makes me strongly suspect they're evading taxes! 3. Ridiculous Price Increases: Initially, they quoted $241 to add an igniter. During the first service, we opted for just cleaning, which cost us $1,300 after a so-called discount (and we had to pay in cash). When we asked them to come back to install the igniter later, their daughter quoted $425, tacked on various made-up charges, and even added a $99 service call fee--just for a 10-minute igniter installation that didn't require any inspection. In summary, they overcharge at every turn. Avoid this place unless you want your wallet emptied with nothing to show for it! The only positive note is that the technician cleaned the floor after completing the work (it took about three hours for one person to finish), but even that doesn't make up for how awful the owner and their main contact person are. They're rude, unprofessional, and blatantly overcharge. The owner even claimed that all the negative Yelp reviews are written by "bad people," which is laughable! Do yourself a favor--look for a company with better Yelp reviews. You'll save money and avoid the frustration!

Mike was a champ today taking care of our grill. Thanks Mike!

From beginning to end, our experience with BBQ Renew was top notch. We had some burners that needed replacing on our old Weber grill. Scheduling was a piece of cake. They had someone at our place reasonably quickly and the repair work was done very well. We could not have asked for better service. Two other repair companies we called first flaked out on us. Mike literally put his blood, sweat and tears into this repair. If you have a BBQ issue, just call BBQ Renew!

Grease left on the concrete in the back yard, down the side yard and the driveway. $575 for mediocre work and a mess.

Clean up before you leave. For the cost I shouldn't have to call back and ask for a revisit.

I rarely review service's in my home but I felt it important to advise others regarding just how bad this company really is. Please read their negative reviews and you will see the reviews match mine. A technician arrived at my home to clean my LYNX BBQ, a very expensive model. When completed the BBQ was very dirty and that was only the beginning. The technician had removed screws and bolts during the service but he never replaced them. He also removed a factory installed heat shield that he also did not replace. Wired in a power supply and butchered the wires. Oh also we later found this company sold us a $90 power supply for $285.00, and the worst part of that was I later had my original power supply tested by an electrical professional who told me my original power supply was in good working condition. Avoid these guys at all costs. I have to have another company come out to repair and then finish the cleaning of this BBQ. The picture provided is after their service was completed! Finally the owner Mike, he's exactly like a used car salesman. Nice and helpful until you make the purchase! Get ready Mike always leaves a nasty response to negative reviews, on the phone he make a threatening comment and I advised him police would be called if he ever showed up here again.

This is my Lynx grill and it is 18 years old.

Pictures say it all. Blown away with what Chris accomplished with my 18 year old Lynx. This is the second time they have cleaned my grill and both times so impressed!! TY

Screen shot from OC County Clerk showing BBQ Renew has never filed for a FICTIOUS Name to legally operate a business in 2008 as they claim.
    Reza J.

In response to your comment that you have been in business since 2008, see attached photo that depict that BBQ Renew LLC formation date of 10/2013 from California Secretary of State and hence if you subtract current year of 2022 minus year 2013, it makes nine years in business as I truthfully stated in my original review. The simple reference to registration of a domain name of BBQRENEW.com does not mean that you were operating a business; it simply means that you registered a domain name. And if you suggest that you were operating your cash grab operating business from 2008 to 2013, then you must have been operating without any business license as the Orange County recorder has no records of BBQ Renew or BBQ Renew LLC operating in Orange county from year 2008 to 2013 on Orange County FBN site. The first filing for BBQ Renew LLC at OC Recorder office was on 10/2013 and not 2008 as you claim! So if any homeowner is planning to use BBQ Renew LLC for any services, be prepared for lousy job, getting upsell on unnecessary repairs or simply getting ripped off as the operation is extremely shady and unethical. Furthermore this business seems not to be an authorized in repair/retail sale for the majority of brands that are they advertising on the BBQ Renew website. If one pay close attention, majority of positive reviews seems to be from yelpers with 0 to 2 reviews which could be an indication of fake reviews: Maybe some of these reviews are legit and some fake, who really knows! But based on the ownership responses on any negative reviews and that is the only thing that he seems that he is good at, it seems that everyone that complains about his shady business practices is a liar: ) However, it seems that he is the common denominator in all the scams that is happening to homeowners who call him for his shady repair works. So, now that you have been fully exposed on all your shady business practices and scams, say CHEESE and smile on camera rather than typing "Happy Grilling" :)

He was very professional, arrived in the last half hour of the 3 hour window for which he apologized ( he didn't have to as he was still within the 3 hour window) as he said it took longer for him in the prior job. But that shows, he takes his time and does a good job. He did the same at our place. I give 5 stars to this company and The service technician Daniel. Glad that Fidelity home warranty finally sent the right company and great technician.

There's a sign at the door not to knock (please text upon arrival) and that was ignored so he set off the dog alarm (grrr). LG ThinQ washer has issue with hot water at final rinse even when set to cold wash. Daniel tells the landlord the friction from the drum is causing the water to heat up. No it's not! Daniel checked the supply lines as I asked to be sure not swapped (they weren't). So his answer is it's being caused with friction (ummm Daniel, if not supply line maybe a faulty temperature sensor or control board - did you even consider that?). Even if that were true of the drum, it would not be enough heat to shrink and fade my clothes which is the issue since moving in two months ago. The issue is hot water when it should be cold. Next the dryer vent hose was all bent, had holes in it, and filled with lint. He wanted to put it back on the machine (a fire hazard). I happened to have a new dryer vent hose in the garage so asked him to replace it. He did so reluctantly, insisting the dryer vent hose is not what causes fires when blocked (yes they do!). Now there's lint and dirt all over the floor and under machines as the stackable unit was installed some 8 years ago. Asked him to clean it up before we put the machines back in. Even brought him a handheld vacuum (he chose not to clean it up) - put the machines right back on top of the layers of lint and debris). Also chose not to clean up the mess on the bathroom floor he'd made. I had to clean it in front of him and the landlord. All techs should have drop cloths and clean up after themselves - full stop!!! Get your techs vacuums. The closet the stackable is in also sustained damage to the wood trim. I point it out and he shrugs his shoulders. Zero accountability. No plans to have anyone come out to repair. Then I notice tikes damaged. Unprofessional all around. And icing on the cake was Daniel said at least 5 times when here he hates working on a Saturday (landlord was here and actually said to him "you might want to find another job" after the fifth time he said it). Then claims repair ticket did not state stackable unit (he explained they require two techs). I call the office and told yes, the repair ticket states stackable. And another note states "landlord declined second technician due to cost of additional $100). There you have it, unit not fixed and waste of 4 hours time, plus damage to tiles (when putting unit back in solo) and busted up trim. Looks horrible. The landlord believes Daniel's "drum friction is heating the water" so not going to do any further diagnostics. Sorry, cannot recommend you. Always have used Andy at Allen Appliance in Aliso Viejo (he is the BEST in all of So Cal). Save yourself the headache and call Andy.
