Good gravy I don't know of a Home Depot any worse than this one. After getting accustomed to Lowe's in San Clemente having exceptionally good service, this one is a stark contrast in why I refuse to Home Depot for ANY OCCASION. I recently had to get some mulch glue. The garden center associate couldn't have been less helpful. She has never heard of such a product and pretty sure they don't carry something like that. I was told to go check out the plumbing aisle since that's where all the glue is. So I went over to the plumbing aisle and checked just in case. Of course the item wasn't there. I also tried to flag down an associate but he couldn't scurry away fast enough. I literally ran after him shouting EXCUSE ME!! CAN YOU HELP ME FIND A PRODUCT??? The associate couldn't muster any sense of concealing annoyance. He told me they only sell mulch glue online and walked away without any further assistance. Like help me get some heavyweight gravel off of the shelves. Check other items I needed help with. Nothing. And the parking here also sucks. The aisles are also very cluttered and brimming with end cap aisle products. Also don't bother attempting to purchase any terra cotta potters. I had to return all of them due to every items having scratches and gashes. I don't know who thought it was a good idea to even sell it in the condition it was in when I placed an order as an online pickup. All in all, much better to drive the extra distance to visit Lowes in San Clemente. The employees are happy to assist and the store is much cleaner and easier to navigate. read more

We found everything we needed and more. All in one place. Service was great. We needed for our stuff to be loaded in the car so we told the cashier and she sent someone out to meet us at our car. UPDATED: Came back the next day and met a different cashier in the nursery. She was not very helpful and ignored me the whole time I was there, even when I asked questions. Homedepot is my "go to" location for soil, bark, fertilizer, and other gardening needs. The fact i can zip through on ADA electric chairs is a plus when walking takes a toll for me. Everyone here , especially at the garden center is friendly and helpful. Hot tip: if you purchase a tree, or flowers, and they die you can return them for a replacement or refund. They stand behind their products. I often come here and find great deals on roses or other flowers that i can add to my home garden or to my daughter's home. 10/10 read more

Of course, no one offered any compensation for the inconvenience. Window selection and install was Perfect. I felt like Home Depot had the most reasonable pricing for 15 windows and install! I went with Milgard and happy i did ! But I'm writing the review because it was the most professional install of windows i have experienced ! Clearly , careful, and they covered everything (dust and debris can happen while removing the old windows !). Really really glad i chose Home Depot for this huge project ! Due to the unprofessionalism and sheer disregard for a customer I had to inform. One very nice lady said how are you? I said Hi, I'm looking to buy this for Father's Day. She said Cindy will be able to help you. She's in the orange apron (finishing up with someone I see) as she walks away towards me. I say hi, are you Cindy? She rudely says yes?? I mentioned my purchase. She follows with I'm Helping Someone Now! Her person wasn't with her or even near her so how was I to know? Ok no problem, then I apologize. Most people go to Home Depot to make a home improvement. Instead, we now have a new problem! We purchased a $2,700 bathroom vanity that was to be delivered to our home and it was dropped off on the curb on a palette. I thought this 285lb piece of furniture would be delivered inside and we stayed home for delivery and opened our double doors. The company they utilize for deliver (Estes) refused to bring it inside citing company policy. How ridiculous is that?! If the "professional" think it's too heavy to move , how in the world are we expected to move it ?! Online "support"" told me to contact the Home Depot store to see if someone could help us move it and they, also, refused citing liability reasons. Our remodel has been unexpectedly delayed and the item will remain outside in the elements. Oh and it rained yesterday and is getting very cloudy now. I wish I purchased it from somewhere that provides a better delivery service. I haven't opened it yet and hope that there is no damage or issue with the item. I don't even know how one could return an item with this kind of delivery service. So remember folks , don't spend a lot of money on something nice from a not so nice place! read more

Now, Im no Bob Villa, and I not trying to be like "Tim , the tool man Taylor" but, when I see DIY projects online something in me says "maybe you can do that too". From the random reviews online, the flooring contractor Crew 2 is horrible. Too bad I didn't think about it before I ordered flooring and installation of flooring. We tried to get Home Depot to do the flooring job. I actually like home depot, but I didn't understand that they use a contractor that is not part of their company. We tried to replace our carpet, and had paid for the materials and work. The Crew two associate had come to measure square footage. I assumed that they checked the floor for leveling; apparently they didn't, because the day of the install, we were told they wouldn't do the job. We had moved our possessions outside already, so it was stressful and upsetting. The first issue was months ago. Just recently I thought about replacing my flooring downstairs where I live in my mom's house. What a nightmare mistake. We did all the above involved in the first time upstairs. We paid, had the materials delivered and were ready for the installation. It was the same employee that did the square footage measurements upstairs. I guess they don't check the level of the floor, because when they came out to do the installation, again, they would not do it. There is no reason I should have been on hold with Crew 2 for thirty minutes, only to get voicemail. There are no physical addresses for the company that I could find locally. They left the materials in my torn up apartment which is unlivable in it current condition. read more

Do not buy an appliance from Home Depot, especially one with a 48 hour return policy. I bought a Whirlpool washer and didn't find out for a couple weeks you can't wash certain loads of laundry (bathroom rugs) as the machine will not drain. Home Depot refused a return or exchange. I was shopping for a kitchen sink faucet and found that Home Depot carries the faucet I was looking for. I went to the Laguna Niguel location on La Paz and fortunately the customer service representative who assisted me was Erika . Erika quickly found the faucet and informed me that I could receive my military discount which Home Depot kindly offers of if I order on line. I was quickly concerned since I'm not well versed using their app. Erika noted it would be a problem and proceeded to use my iPhone to order the faucet. Well the credit card number was outdated yikes again. Not a problem , Erika was kind enough to update my records and complete the order. Great store for personal projects but TERRIBLE for large projects or any type of customer service. I paid a deposit for a large project of buying/installing closet doors in all rooms of the house. When I didn't hear from them for a week on a time sensitive project I called the store. I was greeted with attitude and questioning my integrity then was told I called and cancelled the project (which never happened haha) at this point I have to restart buy the materials and find someone on yelp losing the warranty and insurance HD would have offered. Your job is literally customer service. How about Mr instead of attitude just figure out how we can make a solution. The guy I found wasn't in charge of opening the cabinet so he went looking for someone who could. He came back and told me that the guy who can open the cabinet was making a key and he would be over soon. Soon never came so I left. This has been my go to location for the last 7 1/2 years. I have never had a bad experience at this location until this summer! We wanted to do a few home improvement projects and decided to work on getting the backsplash installed in our kitchen. This whole story started in San Diego but came to a head in Laguna Niguel. We were down in San Diego and I decided to stop by to get a quote for backsplash installation. Even though we live in Orange County, they were able to set me up with an appointment for an estimate for supplies and installation. Their associate arrived on time and was very professional. I then had to call to get my estimate once the measurements were submitted to the main office. When the estimate came in, I was told to go to my local HD store to purchase the materials and pay for the installation. This started out fine, but fell apart quickly. When I went to pay for my installation, I was greeted by their flooring associate, Pia. She noticed that the San Diego store had charged me a travel fee to have one of their installers come to our home. This didn't make any sense because the Laguna Niguel location is walking distance from where we live. Pia caught the error and said that it wasn't fair for me to have to pay an extensive travel fee when the installers should have been coming from a more local location. She told me to contact her manger, Brennan, in the morning and that he would help me get that order transferred to Laguna Niguel and then they could remove the travel fee. So, I showed up in the morning and asked for the 2 managers that Pia referred me to. Neither one was in yet, but Jimmy who is also a manager proceeded to try to get the order transferred over to this location. Jimmy was awesome as he tried his best. The San Diego store could not release the order and couldn't figure out how to transfer it to this store. That's when Sandra, another associate for the flooring department came over and said that she'd help me. We had to do a new estimate and she wasn't going make me pay for it twice. She made sure that my appointment was made and gave me her business card so that I could come back to see her. Once I got the second estimate, I came back but Sandra wasn't in. So, since I worked with Pia initially, I decided to speak with her to schedule the installation. This is where it all fell apart. I walked over to Pia and said that she had helped me before and I was very appreciative. She pretty much did a 180 on me and said that this whole mess would have been avoided if I spoke to her manager. I was shocked by her rude behavior toward a paying customer. I told her that I spoke the manager and then she cut me off and said that I didn't because she has an email chain from her manager and I didn't contact him. She wouldn't let me explain that I ended up working with Jimmy instead. She said that she gave me a "specific set of instructions" and that I didn't follow them. She said that she wasn't going to help me and that I was Sandra's customer now! At this point, I was done with her rude behavior and came back the next day work with Sandra. This was a different experience and Sandra was incredibly professional and I felt so at ease with her. She even took $100 off of my installation! She did speak with Pia but she didn't care and Pia said that she didn't care who I talked to. I also found out that I am not the first customer to have an experience like this with Pia. Since Pia didn't care who I talked to, I proceeded to look for the area manager to contact him. Michael Astorino was the area manager, but he was now assigned to San Diego. They didn't have an area manager at the time and someone named Jimmy C. was filling in until a new one was found. They are incredibly hard to get ahold of but hey, that's what Yelp is for! I will NEVER do another home improvement project through Home Depot again! Jimmy and Sandra really helped to save this project! I have been a customer at Home Depot for years. I will only purchase necessities fromHD but that's about all that I will do, moving forward. If you need a great associate to help you with flooring and backsplash, Sandra would be the best one to work with. read more

I have spent many thousands of dollars here: power tools, lumber, garden and plumbing materials, carpeting...even Christmas trees each December and I have found Home Depot employees to be courteous and knowledgeable in helping me to make the best decisions. Customer service is, in my experience, excellent. When I have returned an item (e.g. I bought the wrong size or wrong type) it has always been an easy and non-judgmental experience. I came here three different times for some rocks for our yard. The first time, I bought 4 bags. There was a bulk discount for 12 bags. I thought I needed 4, and off I went. Got home and realized nope, I actually could have used 12. I went right back, and asked, with my receipt, if I could purchase 8 more bags and get the discount. I explained it about 7 times... Return the 4 from my receipt, charge me for 12, and I will get 8 more. It would have evened out, but they would not allow me to do so. I ended up going back and getting 3 more another day, for another project. There were only bags on the top rack, not the ground. Of the 3 times I was there, not one person offered to help me. They stood and watched me, which was fine, I figured it out, but I had trouble getting the bags from the top and could have used help. The cashiers were neither friendly or rude, just quiet. Maytag washer purchase in March 2019. After having it service three times, we had it hauled away. The old Maytag is not the same as the new ones. Bought this from Home Depot and the warranty expired. I have always gone to this Home Depot and had a great experience. Today for the first time I went there to rent a truck and my god what a horrible experience. The sales associate there name Pam is a who assisted me was one if the most pathetic and rude sales person I have ever experienced. I did everything what needed to rent a truck and when I returned i paid all the necessary fees. But this person was rude and obnoxious both the times for no reason. Pathetic experience least to say and it is sad as that Home Depot has some amazing managers / sales associate I have dealt with. I had a terrible time getting referred from one number to another in a time consuming loop of being transferred, downloading an app, uploading my receipt, endless transfers and getting cut off while on hold!!! After many attempts I got hold of someone who FINALLY arranged for a technician who can come out in 2 weeks (It's for my refrigerator). I regularly shop at Home Depot for my remodeling projects, but there's one older gentleman with a mustache and beard who's consistently rude, unhelpful, and dismissive. Home Depot Laguna Niguel Hired HD LN to replace my carpet with vinyl flooring. It took 2-3 months for the materials to arrive and during that time, I only got updates when I called them. No one at Home Depot called me to provide an update concerning delivery of the materials and installation. Oh, and I paid 100% upfront for the job. Home Depot only uses Carpet Pros in Orange, CA, for the installation. Eventually the materials arrive and the crew from Carpet Pros arrives to install the floor. They remove most of my carpet and the foreman says they cannot install the vinyl flooring as my floor isn't level. Home Depot tries to refer me to some contractors to check out my floor and level it out if necessary. Can we say upsell!!! Anyway, I met with and hired Tony of Payless Carpet & Flooring in San Juan Capistrano. Tony's master installer, Juan, not only installed the flooring without any problem, but he did an amazing job. Juan has worked in the trade for decades and didnt find a problem with my floor. So, perhaps it was a case of Home Depot upsell or laziness on behalf of the Carpet Pros crew.
