Save your money! Worst pulled pork sandwich our family has ever eaten. Couldn't even finish it... threw it in the trash can.

You walk in and order at the counter and then they call your number and you pick up your food. Cute little place with inside and outside seating. We just got a hamburger and a pulled pork sandwich with fries. And a Coke. Prices for reasonable the sandwiches were only like $7. After that we had to try there strawberry shortcake for $5. Super friendly and super fast service. Great place to go if you're on a budget and want to get in and out quickly.. They had tons of sauces to choose from too. Check it out if you're ever in Bryson City downtown.

He basically said "it's right around the corner and to the left;" easy enough ;) This is an old school BBQ joint, nothing super fancy, just straight to the point and prices are very reasonable. Note, this place is cash only so be sure to bring some or you'll have to use the ATM which is conveniently located in the restaurant. We ordered the chopped pork sandwich, a cheese burger and fries and it came to $21. After our meal we went back and ordered the strawberry shortcake ($5). Our food was super fresh and tasty. We enjoyed the variety of BBQ sauces they had available especially the hot and spicy one. We would have liked a little more fries with our meal but for the price I'm not complaining. The restaurant is a bit dated and could use a refresh some other seats are peeling and the tables were sticky but that could be due to whatever chemicals you're using to wipe them down cuz I did see staff cleaning tables after customers left. All in all, a great spot to get a affordable lunch or dinner in a friendly and cozy environment.

The meals are large and shareable. The brisket was juicy and flavorful. My favorite part was dessert, the peach cobbler and banana pudding were homemade and so satisfying. I would go back just for those. It seems to be a favorite with locals and tourists alike. If you're in the area don't miss this opportunity to send your tastebuds into euphoria!

The ribs were well-cooked, the portions were generous, and the service was great. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the food arrived promptly. The mac and cheese, fries, and coleslaw were all enjoyable and complemented the meal well. That said, we're giving it 3 out of 5 stars. While the food was good, we felt the selection of sides was somewhat limited compared to other barbecue restaurants. Our biggest disappointment was the barbecue sauce. The sauces were very thin, and because of that, they didn't really cling to the ribs. We personally prefer a thicker, richer sauce that stays on the meat and adds more flavor with each bite. Despite those points, we still had a pleasant experience and can see why many people enjoy this spot. Good food, good service, and a solid barbecue stop if you're in the area.

The brewery has a great rooftop atmosphere that's perfect for relaxing with a drink while taking in downtown Bryson City. They also host live music, although we weren't able to stay long enough to catch the performance. The highlight of our visit was definitely the bartender. I wish I remembered their name because they were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They took the time to recommend drinks, suggest places around Bryson City to explore, and even gave us recommendations for campgrounds where we could stay that night. Those kinds of interactions are what make traveling so memorable. We had originally planned to grab food from the restaurant downstairs, but that didn't work out during our visit. Thankfully, the brewery itself more than made up for it with its relaxed atmosphere and outstanding hospitality. If you're looking for a laid-back rooftop spot to enjoy a local beer, listen to live music, or chat with friendly locals while exploring Bryson City, Mountain Layers Brewing Company is definitely worth a stop. We'd happily grab another drink here the next time we're in town.

Yummy peach slushie on the rooftop! Food truck food was too heavy for me but was convenient.read more
