Second time here and again, such a great experience. Friendly bartenders and patrons. Loved my Hazel Creek Pineapple and Tangerine Ale. My friend's first time here and she loved the beer she ordered. Found a cozy table upstairs to chat. Live music was starting outside. Perfection.

Cool multistory brewery great for people watching! We hung out on the porch upstairs and got to see everyone in town. I'm not a drinker but my group liked the beers and frose they ordered. They also had a small foodtruck outside but we only stopped in for a bit and didn't order any food.

Yummy selection of beer! Ig @yelpelitegvl

Nice little brewery. We walked upstairs to the rooftop area. You can sit outside or indoors with a heater which was nice. Guy behind the counter upstairs was a little rude and not very friendly. Came for two beers and a bag of chips and we headed out.

Wow! We decided to make the drive to mountain layers brewing from Cherokee and it did not disappoint. They had a great variety of beers, from seasonal Oktoberfest beers, IPAs, a porter and more! The vibe was super chill, there was a downstairs bar and an upstairs one- which had live music when we went. David, our brewtender was super welcoming and struck up great conversation. Overall, amazing experience and I would definitely go back.

    Cute picnic bench flight board.

Beer was okay. The upstairs bartender seemed to be in a bad mood. Not too busy either. Downstairs was friendlier but only a tine bar and seating area. We would have sat outside on the rooftop if not for the record heat that day. Overall, I'd try it again.

Went for a walk thru town and knew we'd hit brewery along way but needed food too so luckily they had this cool Hawaiian food truck! Hubby went in got us both a beverage. Mine was blueberry cheesecake it was really good! We came in to finish our beers at the counter had some great conversations with the bartender and a local.. very cool place even had upstairs deck so you could see river! Very laid back and fun place!

My new favorite brewery in this area of the mountains. The location is a major plus. Downtown, close to the bridge, so you've got river and mountain views. Taproom seating is cozy. Service in the taproom (single taste) was stellar. I noticed the rooftop option and she quickly routed me up top. Same options upstairs as down, so when the weather is right, just head up. The views are almost as good as the beers, weather permitting, of course. I was here on a Friday at 1PM. They were doing a brisk business. Patrons represented a demographic cross-section. Then there's the food. Although not part of the brewery, reportedly, the food truck is always here. It's a mix of Hawaiian and Asian options. Think pork, seafood, and the rare Loco Moco sighting! I got the Ahi tuna. Perfectly sesame-seared, tender and tasty. Just 5-star. I can envision this pairing perfectly with the Hazel Creek Blonde Ale. Perfect portion for one, great mix of flavors from the cabbage and nicely done rice. Hook me up with a little more pickled ginger and I'm gonna start scoping the real estate market. Only complaint was that the guy working the upstairs bar was not friendly. He wasn't rude, but he made things strictly transactional. Now for the beers...you know me, I'm not one to use taste in beer to judge a place. Here's my opinion. I tried three... Dragon Tamer NE IPA - solid for the style. Smooth and very drinkable for lots of occasions. Unfamiliar with the hop profile, but I'm a fan Below Zero Cold IPA - a fan of the entire hop profile (kettle and dry), everything worked for me. Slightly fruity taste on a solid but not overpowering hop base, this beer drinks like a classic IPA with the feel of a session. The ABV though, at 6.8%, doesn't say session. I'll be taking some of this back to St Augustine. Elk Watch Stout Ale - creamy, chocolate with a classic malty background. Just a touch of that ale bitterness to keep it honest. It's like a silky nitro without the gas. Imagine the mountain fall or winter, and you're mond should go to this beer. Great stout, period. This place is a solid recommendation. Solid.

Amazing atmosphere! Great beer, wonderful staff and love that they were retired LEO! We will be back next time we visit and bringing a patch!

Craft beer lovers, rejoice - unless you are hiking with your canine best friend. They boast of fantastic brews with a dog-friendly patio...almost. The cramped gravel area has loud AC units blasting hot air, making it uncomfortable for pups (and their humans) in the summer. Grab a delicious beer to-go and head to a park for a cooler hangout with your canine crew.

Hula burger and potato salad from The Rice Wagon food truck located just outside the brewery. And 2 drafts (Hazel $7.25 and Nydee $6.25).

Great beer, no food served, but don't let that stop you! On a hot summer day in July when a cold beer was in order, we stopped by Mountain layer brewing Company, and headed upstairs for a cold one. There are many local drafts on tap, all served nice and cold, so you will be sure to find something you like and not be disappointed. Seating is limited with a few spots downstairs, and a few more upstairs. There is a large outside patio that overlooks the main drag, however, on a hot July day it's not where we wanted to be. They don't serve food here, but don't despair. Just down the stairs and out to the back of the brewery, there is a food truck. It's called the Rice wagon. The menu consists of Hawaiian and Asian inspired dishes. And that little place serves amazing burgers amongst other selections.. My husband and I shared a Hula burger, with a side of potato salad. It was delicious. And large enough that we shared one and it was sufficient. It's a grab and go place so Styrofoam containers and nothing fancy, but the food is great and you can take your food into the brewery. There is also limited seating next to the food truck.

Nice brewery in Bryson City. They have a rooftop patio with a bar on both floors. Street parking with plenty of shops nearby. I'm enjoying the Mexican Lager. Great on a hot days.

This place had great beer and the food truck was awesome! I liked the variety of beers since I only like sours, and the katsu chicken with Hawaiian Mac was sooo good. Great views on the roof!

A bit disappointed about this place. All their ciders are from cans. No food inside. Food truck outside.

Ask the Community - Mountain Layers Brewing Company

    Are you dog friendly?

Yes- outside only I believe. Large rooftop outdoor area as well as smaller outside patio for dogs!

They had a food truck pull up on the left side of the building one time , had all kinds of smoked food , I had the Brisket . It was excellent . Does anyone know by chance when it goes there again ? If not , I could just call them and find out.

The Rice Wagon food truck is there daily 12-8pm. It's delicious!
