Sliced beef sandwich with fries, coleslaw and baked beans.

Second time at the B-B-Que Wagon. Standing room for ordering due to this place being delicious. When it was my turn walked up and ordered. This time I ordered the beef sandwich. Hunny got the bbq pork sandwich. I had a concoction of sauces on my sandwich. They have many sauces to choose from. Cashier was a doll. Food came out fast, hot and ready to eat. The place was busy full of happy and fat people. Just seeing all the smiles, you know this place is worth the try.

We LOVED the bar-b-que wagon. It is just off the main strip near the IGA in downtown Bryson City. They have indoor and outdoor seating and the outdoor seating is on the water. So beautiful! The establishment is cash only so be prepared. My brisket was exceptional. The helpings were perfect. We each had some leftovers. The service was friendly. We tried to go back again on Monday (because it was that good) but they were closed. Definitely worth a stop!

Cheese fries were solid but a little pricey, burgers were great. Great little place in Bryson City. Would recommend.

1/2 LB smoked turkey & coleslaw

**CASH ONLY** Amazing BBQ! I had the smoked turkey breast that was phenomenal. Sliced super thin which was a nice change compared to thicker slices that tend to be more dry. The Coleslaw was perfect, crispy with a great flavor. All of their house made sauces are delicious. This is cash only but they do have an atm on site. Great prices for the portions. Definitely a hidden gem.

Second visit here and it's about the same....we got pork bbq sandwiches and fries with sweet tea. The pork was tasty and we used their mild sauce and it was pretty good. It's a small place but service was fast and the fries were hot.

We were looking for good barbecue on a recent joyride and we happened upon this GEM...the chopped pork was our favorite, the ribs were spectacular (the meat was falling off the bones), and the chicken was delicious! I hope to come back again!

Pork ribs, brisket, with potato salad, baked beans and hush puppies.

Awesome service and a neat mountain atmosphere. The brisket was tasty, but kind of falling apart... The ribs still had their silver skin intact and kind of flavorless. The potato salad and the baked beans were my favorite of the entire meal. Probably pretty good for these parts... As I'm comparing this to real barbecue i.e. Texas...

BBQ beef sandwich plate with fries and slaw

The food is actually pretty good. We ate here twice. Brisket is really my jam and it's just okay at this restaurant... it definitely needs a sauce. The slaw is super delish, so were the fries and hush puppies. I'd probably rate it a solid 4 stars but the staff are really unfriendly and not at all welcoming. It's the kind of place where you feel you got in their way by coming in. There's some great seating outside by the river at picnic tables under gazebos... if the weather is nice, it's a great place to eat and enjoy the scenery.

Pork chop sandwich that's not actually a pork chop, fries, and cole slaw

Words of advice. DONT DO IT. Save your money and cook at home or go tubing. By far the worst restaurant I've ever been too and I've e been to a lot. For starters they only take cash, the pork chop sandwich isn't actually a pork chop it's chopped pork on a bun. The "pork" ribs tasted like road kill. Just horrible. To make things worst the staff wasn't that pleasant, not a smile in the building. DON'T SAY I DIDN'T TELL YOU SO.

    Bbq Sandwich lunch special

In Bryson City for weekend whitewater rafting trip. Decided to come see "town" and grab some lunch. I was torn about where to eat as this is my first trip here and the reviews were mixed on this app about all the places. But I made a wrong turn and ended up here. Building is a quaint bbq place. Very unassuming. Walked in to counter service being right there and while I waited, I reviewed the menu that was above the drink station to the left. However when I stepped up to the counter to order, there was a board with daily specials. So I ordered the sandwich special that came with a pulled pork sandwich, fries, slaw and drink for $7.95. Very good deal! Slaw needed seasoning but was ok. Not too wet and I loved the steak fries. I was not impressed with the sandwich after the first bite, but then I added the sweet bbq sauce and it was on from there! There is plenty of meat on this sandwich, and the bun was super soft. Really enjoyed my meal. Service was very good. The young lady taking orders was super friendly and does her job well. And in between customers, she was responsible for cleaning the dining room. I recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

Excellent and very tasty food! The briskets are excellent. The coleslaw is some of the best I've ever eaten.

Would potentially be a nice little place to stop but the bbq is not good. Everything was on par with snack bar food.

The meals are large and shareable. The brisket was juicy and flavorful. My favorite part was dessert, the peach cobbler and banana pudding were homemade and so satisfying. The ribs were well-cooked, the portions were generous, and the service was great. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the food arrived promptly. The mac and cheese, fries, and coleslaw were all enjoyable and complemented the meal well. That said, we're giving it 3 out of 5 stars. While the food was good, we felt the selection of sides was somewhat limited compared to other barbecue restaurants. Our biggest disappointment was the barbecue sauce. The sauces were very thin, and because of that, they didn't really cling to the ribs. We personally prefer a thicker, richer sauce that stays on the meat and adds more flavor with each bite. Despite those points, we still had a pleasant experience and can see why many people enjoy this spot. Good food, good service, and a solid barbecue stop if you're in the area.

The brewery has a great rooftop atmosphere that's perfect for relaxing with a drink while taking in downtown Bryson City. They also host live music, although we weren't able to stay long enough to catch the performance. The highlight of our visit was definitely the bartender. I wish I remembered their name because they were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They took the time to recommend drinks, suggest places around Bryson City to explore, and even gave us recommendations for campgrounds where we could stay that night. Those kinds of interactions are what make traveling so memorable. We had originally planned to grab food from the restaurant downstairs, but that didn't work out during our visit. Thankfully, the brewery itself more than made up for it with its relaxed atmosphere and outstanding hospitality. If you're looking for a laid-back rooftop spot to enjoy a local beer, listen to live music, or chat with friendly locals while exploring Bryson City, Mountain Layers Brewing Company is definitely worth a stop. We'd happily grab another drink here the next time we're in town.
