I had seen this restaurant in Gordonsville and thought about trying it, but the weird font of their signs made me wonder if it was really a restaurant. So, finally this week I was in the area and wanted some lunch, I had not found a restaurant in Gordonsville that I really liked. I was happily surprised with my visit to BB's Bistro. I treated a crew that had done some work for me and all of us enjoyed our meals, plus the service was great. The interior of the restaurant was comfortable; all of the tables had marble tops, chairs were comfortable. I had 12" cheese pizza (I think that's the best way to see if their crust, sauce and cheese are quality). Taste was very good. The other two guys both had meat and two; both had catfish and loved it. I tried a bite of the catfish and will have it on my next trip. The tartar sauce seemed to be homemade and was delicious. I'm posting a copy of their menu, good selection, prices are reasonable, and their hours are good.

It's SO easy on a road trip to get hungry and eat fast food right off the freeway - and this is NOT how we roll. BB's is just south of the 40 east of Nashville... seriously 1/2 mile... trust me, drive the 1/2 mile beyond Wendy's. We took our delightful server's recommendation for the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich (yum!) and any of their burgers (I chose the blue cheese burger and WOW!). Both came with crazy good fries. We ordered a side of southern greens too (an extra pinch of salt and they were perfect!). Of course, a meal at BB's isn't over without pie... since we were starving, this is the only part of the meal with a picture - my husband had the butterfinger pie and couldn't stop raving about it. Like I said, take the extra few minutes, skip the fast food, and eat at BB's. You'll thank me later.

Literally the best grilled chicken and catfish I've ever had. Just happened to see a billboard on the side of the road. Right down from the Pilot!! I highly highly recommend stopping here to eat. Service was great and the owner was a treat to talk to. It's quaint with a small patio outside. The ambiance makes you feel like you're not right next to an expressway.

This place delivers on every level--flavor, hospitality, and a sense of home you don't often find in a restaurant. You can taste the care in every bite. Service was just as memorable--warm, welcoming, and quick with a smile. The space is casual and comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, we had a positive experience and I will be back again -- HAVE to try their Tres Leches cake!! I encourage you to show your support as this new location gets going I also need to check out the flagship restaurant someday over on the other side of Murfreesboro...

So for the sake of convenience (I also recently had hand surgery), we thought we'd give Sweet Thing Bakery a try for my son's 3rd birthday cake. It's safe to say, this will be our new go-to! The cake was just like the picture I gave as an example and it was absolutely delicious. Everyone at the party raved over it. A baker myself, I'm pretty picky about cakes. This one was incredibly moist and the frosting had much more of a buttery taste than that of other bakeries; especially grocery store bakeries whose frostings taste mostly of shortening. Their prices are very reasonable as well. Just a tip--if you want to order a cake for a special occasion, they require that you do it at least 2 weeks in advance!

I am deeply disheartened and honestly ashamed by a business policy requiring all service animals to…read morewear vests. That is not an ADA requirement, and there is no official vest, registration, or certification required for a legitimate service animal in the United States. Under the ADA, businesses cannot require proof of documentation, demand certification papers, or refuse entry simply because a service animal is not vested. A service animal handler also cannot legally be asked to leave unless the animal is out of control or causing a disturbance that the handler does not correct. The only questions staff are permitted to ask are: 1. Is the animal required because of a disability? 2. What work or task has the animal been trained to perform? Policies rooted in misinformation create unnecessary humiliation and barriers for disabled individuals who already face enough challenges in public spaces. Businesses should take the time to properly educate their staff on ADA laws instead of enforcing requirements that simply do not exist.

They don't have the flake of a croissant or the light airy vibe of a yeast donut. I also tried the Strawberry Fields, Milk Chocolate, Blueberry Lemon and the Chocolate Sea Salt. The Blueberry Lemon was good the first day, but it seemed that the donuts don't hold up beyond fresh. I feel that may have changed my opinion on some of the other flavors. However, the vanilla crème was good the next day. I conclude they are not my favorite and I would probably stop in for something special to get the Purist or the Vanilla Crème. It was definitely an experience. I'm glad I tried them. However, I think I'm super spoiled by my pastry shoppes in the city and my favorite Amish bakers on the Shore. The shoppe was cute and the service was fine. No complaints. It's nice to know they have an ingredient list to check, I appreciated that. I'd say give them a try because I definitely think it's a preference because the locals raved.

I was curious to see what they had compared to Linit's goodlicious fresh donuts, kolaches, and other morning goodies... as he had a solid FIVE STARS from me and I'm sure pretty much everyone else who had crossed his threshold! It was sad to have him move out of state and lose all those goodies... but... Anyway, walking in I was greeted by two smiling faces and one sleepy one... the young daughter of the owner. She's not quite two, but is adorable! I asked if I could take pictures and got the okay... they're not quite finished with everything, but have opened and are working around getting everything else put in place. I have to say WOW on what's in their bakery cases... it's edible ART. BEAUTIFUL. Abel, the owner, came from LA to the little town of Shelbyville to escape the madness that is California; he lived there 15 years. He and his wife are so sweet... I feel like family! They are so welcoming... This is a more Hispanic type bakery than an "American" type... and the bakery cases are filled with breads almost too pretty to eat... cheesecakes, tarts, flan, many gorgeous sweets I have no idea what they are but I want... mega YUM... beautifully decorated cakes and pies that one doesn't normally see around here... it's a literal feast for the eyes before you ever buy anything to eat!!! (I do need to brush up on my Spanish, as English is their second language... but Abel's English is fantastic. No one will have a problem understanding anyone, I don't think.) They offer free coffee with purchase, and if you had been there when Abel had brought out a fresh tray of croissants straight out of the oven... I'm talking SWOON!!! Oh yeah... y'all have to stop in. You really do. The visual makes you want one of EVERYTHING. I think he and his family will do well. Wedding cakes or quinceañeras... parties... birthdays...
