100/10!! Delicious, a must try if you're in the area. The staff was incredibly friendly, the inside is small, but do not underestimate this place. Was recommended by a friend and well worth it! We will return.

Good Grub, Southern Comfort Soul food! My friend had the Chicken and Waffles, which is their signature dish. Enjoy for breakfast, lunch or dinner! I'm not judging, any time is the right time for this one! I had the Pulled Pork on a sesame seed bun with mild sauce. The meat was tender and delicious. For the side dish I had a scoop of their Mac n Cheese, reminds me of my Grandmother's cooking. I also had onion rings, which were perfectly seasoned and not oily or greasy. This little cafe is small, but their home-cooking and family recipes pack a big punch! They are so nice and helped me make my decision because there was so many of my favorites it was not easy to choose (shrimp, ribs and hot links!!). Street parking is limited, they do not have a private lot, there is a parking structure one block north, its easy to find across from the Metrolink train station. BB's Cafe reminds me of going to a family friends cook out. They serve you the freshly made food in bio degradable plates and I think it adds to the family cook out feel. I ordered the entree waffle and the pulled pork breakfast burrito. Both were delicious! The waffle was warm and the breakfast burrito was a unique soulfood-Mexican fusion that works really well! The location is right off the street, so it is convenient to pull up and grab your to go order. They have a clean sitting area, and have flyers for local events that I appreciate too. You can tell it's a positive business to the local community. The staff is friendly and helps you make decisions if you're a first time customer. They recommend the chicken and waffles and breakfast burritos. The only thing I would have liked was to have water with ice. They only have canned beverages and bottled water. I'm not a big soft drink person, so having water with ice would have been nice.

The food is wonderful! Freshly cooked crispy chicken and waffles reminded me of my Nana and my Mom's cooking. We used their catering service to get a pan of prepared uncooked Mac and cheese for our family's Easter celebration. The directions were spot on. Our family recommends the sweet potatoes and greens too!

We decided to come here after church because of yelp review. It did not frustrate our expectations. The food is great. The chicken, waffle, and fries. They have limited seating that can only occupy 12 people on three tables. But service rendered by DK is awesome. The price for the food we eat is considerably cheap. BB's Cafe serves fresh ingredients and cooks to order. The Chicken (4 pieces) & Waffle costs $14.95. There's no line, and I waited 11 minutes. I arrived 9AM on a weekend. The chicken is freshly cooked. The skin is lightly crisp and dry. The chicken is not oily; rather, the ingredients taste clean and fresh. The pieces are small, and its bone is thick. The chicken had very little seasoning. It's a freshly cooked chicken with little flavor. The warm, thick waffle is more memorable than the chicken. The waffle is firm, fluffy, and filling. The melted butter and syrup added to the waffle's savory taste. BB's Cafe is small. There's three small tables with chairs inside. There's no bathroom for customers; the server recommended walking across the street to use the park's bathroom. Thankfully, they provide a tiny hand-wipe for customers to wipe their hands. Also, BB's Cafe does not offer water in a cup; if customers want water, they need to purchase a water bottle. In addition, the indoor dining area is chilly from the open door. Bring a jacket if you want to eat inside this winter. And parking is very limited. If customers can't find nearby street parking, customers must park across the street and walk over. I recommend ordering to-go. The staff is welcoming and friendly. They greet the customer as you enter and leave. Overall, BB's Cafe is a good experience. The food is fresh. It's not unique, memorable food, but it's a satisfying bite.

First time in the area and found BB's Cafe on Yelp so I had to try a Black Owned Restaurant and it did NOT disappoint. Michelle was SO KIND and knows how to hold a conversation. I learned more about her and her mom, BB. BB even greeted me. Customer service is TOP TIER!!! Now.... I had chicken and waffles. The price point is what really had me. But then the FOOD is literally chef's kiss. The chicken was fried so perfectly, golden and season so well. It was just right. The waffle is a waffle but it was GOOD. I really wanted the 5 piece chicken and to order Mac and cheese until I was saddened to hear there was no more Mac and cheese. I also went an hour prior to them closing. But I originally did go for chicken and waffles and I was satisfied. It is a small location and have about 3 tables that sit 4. I found a parking spot right in front of the restaurant so I was content but there are a lot of open spots. It is a great location and perfect for a nice to go order. I can't wait to come back because Michelle made me feel like family and BB's food is to brag about. I can't wait to try more if I am in the area again.

This tiny store front is really intended to be a pick up location rather than a sit down restaurant. There is some seating, but only for a maximum of 12 inside. Their specialty is their fried chicken and waffles. I loved their chicken, with its very southern, deliciously seasoned cornmeal crust. It made the pieces come out quite juicy and flavorful, and had a great crunch. I only wish they were full pieces, not 4 smaller but plump, wing parts. The waffle was not my favorite. I prefer a crisp crust. This one was spongy made from a relatively bland batter. But they did serve it with real butter, and butter goes a long ways to improving the shortcomings. I popped my leftovers in my toaster the next day, and that helped. I ordered an extra side of Mac & cheese (for research purposes, of course!) but it did not win my heart either. I am always on the hunt for a sharp Cheddar cheese recipe, and this tasted more creamy, like American cheese quality. I am also a big fan of a buttery baked crumb topping, but this had none. If we returned, I would most likely buy the chicken by the piece and skip the sides. Peach Cobbler, just ok. The crust was too doughy for my tastes and lacking in flavor as compared to another cobbler we had purchased that same day from a different Soul Food restaurant. The filling was also quite soupy. They also offer smoked meats which they smoke in a different location. Mr B ordered a brisket sandwich to go, which he later described as being too lean for his tastes. It had plenty of meat and was sauced up with a good tasting, sweet Bbq sauce. This came with a choice of 1 side. The employees were very sweet and attentive. And the prices were reasonable. I only saw parking on the street. Not sure if more is needed, actually, considering they are so tiny.

So we found BB's on yelp because we were craving waffles and their food looked delicious and so we ended up coming here and it definitely did not disappoint! It was SO DELICIOUS. The waffle was fluffy and warm which was paired with 3 chicken pieces that were crunchy and full of flavor! What really made the food better was honestly the customer service. The ladies were soo genuinely sweet and welcoming. Thanks sooo much! Can't wait to come back read more

Had this random craving for soul food and came to this place with a friend. Parking can be a bit tricky since it's street parking but once you get yourself situated and come inside, you're warmly greeted by the staff. Place inside is small so seating is limited but there are seats outside available, too. We ordered the chicken and waffle with sweet tea. Let me just say... the waffles? Golden. Chicken? Succulent. Honestly, I'm debating of coming to BB's instead of Roscoe's more often. My favorite part was the chicken. There were three pieces, not too big, not too small. It was the best. I can't recall the last time I had fried chicken that had the perfect amount of crisp, seasoning, and juiciness. You can tell it was made with love. The banana pudding (get it with whipped cream it's so good) we had after was a good follow-up. Overall, I had a wonderful experience. There was a genuine vibe coming from what looked like the owner and the cook that I loved. I'm looking at the pulled pork sandwich for my next visit. The only thing I wish is that they would open for more hours. read more

I have been coming here for a while and I've always been extremely happy with everything about BB's Cafe. Everyone there is a delight to speak with and the place is very clean. Also love the food! I usually get the chicken and waffles and I never fail to order that, but today I tried the catfish plate. It was delicious! Very large serving too! It's great having a place around town that is consistent with their quality and is very friendly. I'll always come back. read more

OhMyGosh!!! We just ordered brunch and it was a taste sensation I looked BB's up on Yelp, ordered got there in six minutes and my food was ready. It was hot and delicious when I arrived home!! WAffles, catfish, eggs, bacon and hash brown.... yum, yum and Yummy!!! read more

This place is a true find! Mikki and her mom are FABULOUS! With a cute good downhome feeling cafe. The food is soo plentiful and de-li-ci-ous!! And Red kool-aid! Any place that has kool-aid is a place I need to be. My pulled pork sandwich was juicy and moist,the fries were cooked just right. This joint is da bomb!! I'll be back as fast as the traffic can get me there from Moreno Valley. P.S. and she called me by my name ,like old friends. I swear I was eating at my cousin's house. Owned and operated by a mom and daughter team, I was happy to see this new soul food eatery in our town! The women are so personable; so accommodating. They pride themselves on their chicken and waffles breakfast, which is really delicious, too! I had me some and it was all made fresh; nothing frozen. Their spot is tiny or quaint. Maybe just 3 tables inside. If you go during lunch, you may end up making it a "to go" order. Any other time, on off hours periods, it's always nice to eat in. Very casual. If there are no other customers around, they're like family and will converse with you. I really like their friendliness! It's like visiting a close relatives place for lunch or breakfast, and they make sure everything is to your liking. read more

Fun, little (very small dining area, maybe 10 people max.) restaurant at the north end of the historic downtown Covina. Open for breakfast and lunch only. The waffles were good, but the fried chicken was great! They have a variety of coffees and drinks and all kinds of breakfast stuff. We didn't get to try any of the sandwiches, will have to make a trip back for lunch. Many people ordered "to go", but if you want to eat there, it's possible you could be waiting a while to get a seat. Staff was super friendly and very attentive. read more

Let me start off by saying that if I lived within a 5 minute drive of this place, I'd weigh 300 lbs. Their chicken and waffles are simply that good. They have VERY limited seating, so you should anticipate getting your food to go. Also, they are making the food to order, so expect a bit of a wait and appreciate the fact that your food hasn't been sitting in a steam tray. The best aspect of all is how genuinely nice the employees and owner are. It feels great supporting a restaurant like this place. read more

I've been to BB's about 5 times now. The staff is always friendly and courteous. I went there for the chicken and waffles and they're for sure the best around. Coming from Long Beach I got spoiled by Roscoes, but I think that both the chicken and waffles are better at BB's. The chicken is really flavorful, crunchy on the outside, moist on the inside. The waffles are thick and have kind of a malty/caramel taste to them. I love the chicken and waffles so much that I haven't ordered anything different off the menu yet lol. Will be back again and again. read more

My fiancé and I were starving, making our way to Joshua Tree so we jumped on Yelp and went with the first 5 star restaurant we saw. We now know why BBs has 5 stars! Chuck got the hot link sandwich and it was FIRE! I got the fried fish and it was also very good. Michelle was the auntie I didn't know I needed. She had all the advice and was super helpful and kind. Michelles Mom was the amazing chef and she came out to meet and greet us as well. We will definitely be back! read more

Walking into the cafe, we were greeted warmly and the wonderful smell of the cafe reminded my boyfriend of his grandmothers house. We got their chicken & waffles with collared greens and yams sides. We tackled our to-go food as soon as we got home and boy, were we pleased with it. We were even gifted with a side of hush puppies - what a wonderful Christmas Day delight! I was in the area when I picked up lunch for my boyfriend and me--we loved everything we ordered! We got the chicken and waffles, catfish, and wings, with collard greens, yams, and mac & cheese. The staff were so friendly and Everything was delicious, but I wanted to especially highlight the chicken, which was delightfully crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I think I just travelled to the South!! This place is delicious!!! Everything is fresh and tastes like I'm visiting someone's home. I ordered the BBQ pulled pork sandwich with Mac and cheese and BBQ baked beans. My boyfriend ordered the chicken and waffles with a side of greens. We were both splendidly surprised. It smelled just as good as it tasted. This restaurant felt like home. As I was ordering, the woman cooking (didn't get her name) looked at me and smiled the warmest smile I'd ever seen. I felt so welcomed. I will definitely be going back as often as I can. Thank you!!!!! Me and my tummy are happy! read more

I wish this place was open later for after my classes! My usual order is the fish plate and a burrito. The fish is always great and crispy and the sides are wonderful as well. The last time I ordered the burrito the meat was a little dry but usually it is good. Fried CatfishNext time I go I will be trying the rib plate. read more

Good little place to get your cravings for some chicken and waffles. They have 3 tables inside and 2 tables outside to sit. The waffle was very tasty and chicken wings were flavorful. I also got the pulled pork sandwich that came with fries and cole slaw. It was excellent as well. Will come back to try their fried fish next time! read more

It's very cool that they roast their beans in-house, and although I'm no coffee connoisseur, I thought the quality of the espresso was great. So here's my good and not so good. Good: the service here is amazing, friendly attentive and I watched every dine in customer receive extraordinary care. The portion sizes are huge and the whole restaurant felt like you were in someone's own kitchen on a weekend morning with all of the right smells in the air for a great brunch. Here's the not so good: it took 4 minutes shy of an hour to get lunch for 2 (2 order of chicken tenders, side of red beans and rice and an order of hush puppies ) prepared. Although the booths were full, most of the tables had their food, so it didn't appear to be a lot of tickets stacked up. When my order was finally delivered, and I took the10 minute drive back home, I opened the bag to fund 3 brown paper bags, wet, soggy and soaking in grease. Because the food hadn't been allowed to cool a bit and it was placed in a plastic bag with no way to vent out steam, every item was soggy and falling apart. The fries were wet and soggy, the chicken had all of the dry coat falling off and most the seasoning was pulled off of the batter that was left because of the water and steam. Additionally, the red beans and rice were so wet, they were almost soup. One of the orders had potato salad as a side, but to received overcooked soggy fries instead. The hush puppies were way over cooked, they had passed the golden brown cook level and were a black brown color and were sort of flavorless and really soggy from the heat of the plastic bag. I'm sure that most of this could have been avoided if I hadn't placed a to go order. But I'm leaving this review so that when you order from this little gem, you consider dining in or asking for the foot with plenty of lead time so that they don't rush, improperly pack the food for transit (let it cool off a bit) and have the time to make sure the order is correct, and cooked to a standard that best represents the business. Pomona needs Day-Days as a locally owned, black owned soul food restaurant. Switching from plastic to paper bags and giving the food time to vent will go a long way with quality for the customer. In the end the food tasked good, I'm sure was prepared with love, but fell flat on the delivery. All of that said, patronize this restaurant!!!!

I tried their Big Daddy Burrito, and let me tell you--it was absolutely phenomenal. Stuffed with perfectly smoked meats and just the right amount of sauce, it's the perfect BBQ burrito. BB's Cafe's slogan should be "come hungry, and leave as family". My Family and my self (group of 10) are staying near by on vacation, and were looking for a place for breakfast. A quick google search lead us to BB's, and it did not disappoint! It's has a small seating area, and a simple menu. All the food was cooked by Mom and everything was amazing, and delicious. What truly made this experience was Michelle. She took our order, severed our food, and made our day. Warm, friendly, and funny. I woke up this morning craving some waffles, so I stopped in this place because of it's 5 star rating...and I can't even lie, it was pretty good. I worked down the street and never knew this place existed. I happened to drive pass it today and thought I's stop in. I'm glad I did. The 2 ladies were fabulous. Made me and my mom feel right at home. I had the chicken and waffles which in my opinion is better than Roscoes. Looks like I've found a home. read more

Food here was amazing. The waffles we got was fluffy and the chickens were juicy. But what was more amazing was the person serving us, Michelle (if that is how it is spelled). She was so nice and funny. Recommended to take your kids here, she'll make them eat your food! read more

Great food for a good price. Not much inside seating, but you can order to go. Very good atmosphere, service was great. Great home style restaurant, would recommend every time. They serve a breakfast menu as well as different lunch specials each day. read more
