We checked out Stacks on Route 66 on a Sunday morning and apparently everyone else in area had the same idea because this place was packed! Luckily, they move pretty quickly and we didn't have to wait nearly as long as I expected. The portions here are no joke and the food came out surprisingly fast for how busy they were. I got the chicken fried steak and it looked so good that I completely forgot to take a picture before digging in. By the time I remembered, it was definitely too late for a Yelp worthy photo We also got the chocolate chip pancakes which were really good and definitely hit the spot. Between those and the chicken fried steak, we did not leave hungry. Our server was very nice and accommodating the entire time. I also really liked the classic diner vibe. Give me a busy old school breakfast spot with big portions and good food and I'm happy. Definitely a great breakfast spot whether it's just a couple of you or you're rolling in with the whole family. We'll be back!
Served by Sophia B. Excellent service. Food was abundant. Yes, a little pricey but worth it. Its a lot everywhere then you get one tiny pile of strawberries and a plop of whip. I got three heaps on the most perfectly crunchy and beautiful Belgian Waffle. STACKS DONT PLAY. Sophia was as sweet as can be! Coffee was topped off 3 times and the coffee person came around often to keep my coffee full and warm. Come early. We got here at 755 and at 839, this place is hopping and people are consistantly rolling in. Rule of thumb fir best service come on the off hours and/or come early. Large outside seating and Im sure nice dogs are welcome. Stay classy Glendora!
If you are ever around the Glendora area, there is a spot that you should stop by Stacks on Route 66. It has that old-school diner vibe where the portions are gigantic and the service is spot on. Overall I came here with a few friends to enjoy a nice brunch. We had to wait a little bit but it wasn't too bad. I ordered the Santa Monica sandwich that was on sourdough bread, turkey, avocado, tomato, lettuce, and mayonnaise. It comes with a small cup of soup so I decided to get French onion and this by itself was very hearty and delicious. The cheese was plenty and the onions were nice and soft. The sandwich also came with a side of pasta salad and French fries. Yum this was so good I would totally come back to try their other options. The menu was long and had tons of different items. They do serve pancakes and toast but I wanted a sandwich at the time so I got that and it was very delicious and simple! My friends had the country fried steak and that also was good. The gravy wasn't too heavy and the portion size was huge! Can't wait to come back here again!
You get a lot of food for your buck here! Excellent tasting food! Steak n eggs with hash were off the charts! Service is excellent as well, very attentive. Came on a weekend since weekends look crazy busy, we were seated right away even though it was still busy! Glad I made the stop here! Can't wait to come again and try something new!

I think we may have gotten overlooked in their system, but once we let the staff know, they had us head to the front and got everything sorted out. Even though the restaurant was really busy, the service was still friendly and attentive. The food was excellent! I especially loved the stuffed French toast it was delicious. The eggs were fluffy, the sausage was flavorful, and the hash browns were crispy and tasty. The kids' menu was adorable, and the Mickey Mouse pancakes were such a cute touch. The freshly squeezed orange juice was also a nice touch, especially since it had little to no pulp. The portion sizes were generous, so you definitely get your money's worth. The restaurant was clean. Overall, we'd definitely come back for another breakfast!
I used to like this place when it was Flappy Jacks. Stacks menu is different and don't have what I want. The food was decent and the portions were good, but nothing really stood out. We came to EAT! We had the protein omelet, stacks special, stuffed French toast, and the add a side of eggs and sausage and we were SO stuffed! Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. The staff were very kind. It is definitely a diner-style restaurant, casual. The women's restroom honestly smelled like someone smoked in a port-a-potty, but it was clean. Stop by and enjoy!

Buttery fluff pancakes, good crunch on the hashbrowns on the outside, cheesy Denver omelette. Good for family & big groups. A bit taken back that my bill was $30 for just an average experience for one person.

I ordered the breakfast wrap and my friend ordered the classic Benedict and they were both so good! Definitely huge proportions and we could not finish our meals at all lol so bear that in mind. However, I really wanted to try something sweet and the customers across from us ordered the banana nut pancakes that looked DELICIOUS. I definitely want to come back for those. Our service was amazing! Our server was so sweet and was on top of everything. She made sure we had enough water and coffee and made sure our food was great. It's definitely refreshing having someone who is kind and patient. We came on a Sunday so of course it was busy! It was cool though because we got at right away since we opted to sit whatever was available first. I definitely want to come back!!
Ample parking. I came here to meet a friend and we both thought the ambiance was cute. It's what you think you would see when you think 'diner.' The service was good-- friendly and attentive. They even brought us boxes before we had to ask, which was appreciated. I ordered crepes, and they were well made and featured fresh strawberries in a syrup that was not too sweet or artificial tasting. My friend is vegan and managed to make a vegan meal out of some of the menu items.
Late post! 5 stars because they accommodated my husband's request. LOOK FOR YOSI AND ORDER JERMAINE'S PINEAPPLE PANCAKES OR SHOW THIS PICTURE. IT'S NOT ON THE MENU BUT IT'S REALLY GOOD. NOT TOO SWEET, FLAVORFUL! I dont know how this happened but apparently, my husband and Yosi (one of the workers in Stacks) came up with this one of a kind pancake. It was super good! I dont even like pancakes nor pineapple. STACKS, GET THIS ON THE MENU! My husband and I cannot cook so this was awesome! 5 stars because they accommodated my husband and it seemed like everyone had a great time accommodating his request. We also had the 20pcs wings. Everyone loved the lemon pepper the best. We had their XXL ribs, it was dry.. but not taking off a star coz again, of hubby's pancake creation The clam chowder was good enough :) Anyway, all in all, we would go back just to order jermaine's pineapple pancakes . Thank u soooo much Yosi, thank u also to our server I forgot his name :( you were so awesome! Thanks everyone!
Stacks on Route 66 peaked my interest due to the quantity of reviews. My server Michelle was quick and prompt. She definitely checked in multiple times! I wasn't looking for an omelette for breakfast and this place delivered. Santa Fe Chicken. $18.99. Super filling and the portions are enormous. I ordered French fries and Pasta Salad. It also came with a hearty cup of French Onion Soup. Exactly what I wanted this morning. Thank you.
We've been coming here since it was known as Flappy Jack's and was content to see that although it's under new management that the menu/atmosphere stayed the same. The food is decent for the price. I normally like to get the Cesar salad wrap but my favorite thing has to be the pasta salad! It's super delicious!

Stacks on Route 66 was very lively! It was busy for lunch yet we were able to get a booth inside in a few minutes on a Saturday at noon. All the servers were very attentive and joyful! I truly appreciated that our coffee mugs and water cups never reached empty. The food was delicious and they gave very generous/hearty portions! Beyond delicious, huge portion breakfast and brunch plates! Efficient, kind customer service. Hot coffee is consistently filled. Minus 1 star because they charge $1.70 for the waffle's whipped cream when it should be included as part of the dish's price. read more

Stacks On Route 66 is the perfect spot for breakfast... even better when it's breakfast for dinner! We came in recently and everything from the food to the service was great. German Pancake with Fresh Berries...This was the showstopper!!! The pancake comes out beautifully puffed with crispy golden edges and is filled with fresh strawberries, blueberries, bananas, and powdered sugar. Light, buttery, crunchy on the outside and packed with flavor. It's also a fun one to share at the table. Mediterranean Omelette, this is my go to here lol...delish!!! Fluffy eggs with great Mediterranean flavors and served with hash browns that were cooked just right. A really satisfying savory option to balance out the sweet dishes. Kids Mickey Pancake...Always a hit with the kids! Topped with whipped cream, chocolate chips, and strawberries, it's cute and delicious. My son's fave always! (Ours too ha!) Service was friendly, attentive, and welcoming we went for dinner. Another bonus: they're now open later in the week for dinner, which makes those breakfast cravings at night totally possible. Because let's be honest... who doesn't love breakfast for dinner every now and then? I know we do!!! Stacks continues to be a great neighborhood spot for comforting breakfast classics and generous portions. read more

This placed used to be Flappy Jack's, and I believe they are under new ownership. However, their menu is still the same. I came in on a weekday, and there was no line. Line was usually long on weekends. Our server was very friendly, attentive, and kind. He kept offering us to fill our water and coffee throughout our brunch. We ordered my favorite stuffed French toasts with strawberry sauce, country Benedict, and country fried steak. My stuffed French toaster was stuffed with cream cheese, and it was the perfect combination with the strawberry sauce. The hash brown was crispy, which was what I love. The egg Benedict matches well with the country style. I enjoyed my experience here, and would be back again. read more

I will never eat here again. We use to eat here years ago when it was Flappyjacks. And let me tell you, it has gone down the toilet! The service was absolutely terrible! It was so slow. It was a weekday at about 1130 and it took them forever to bring us our water and beverages, to take our order and to bring our food. We never got refills either. We also noticed a lot of other tables were having problems with their orders or were missing something... it was not just us being picky pants.. Flappyjacks lets you sub a pancake on your omelette or skillet order for an extra charge, these guys don't. So we got banana nut pancakes and got bacon and eggs on the side for an extra $5! If you wanted a side of hashbrowns that was gonna be an extra $7!! I'm not one to ever complain about my food, but my banana but pancakes were raw... so we had to send them back.. it took quite awhile for them to bring the pancakes back out.. we should've just told him to cancel the order altogether... when they brought us our bill the guy told us "oh I discounted it 10% for your inconvenience" .. WOW. Not that was I was expecting anything but %10?! They didn't bring us syrup... We had to look for it on another table... They didn't ask us if we needed ketchup or hot sauce... We had to look for it on another table... And like I mentioned before earlier in my review, other people were having to do the same thing it was ridiculous, we should've went to eat at Denny's or at IHOP!!! Don't waste your money! read more

Great food and huge portions. Formerly called Flappy Jack's. The restaurant gets crowded for breakfast and they have both indoor and outdoor seating. The wait time was about 30mins for a party of 3. Parking lot gets full as it is small but there is street parking also. Have been here when it was Flappy Jack's and the food and service has always been good. read more
Unfortunately, this place is still a chaotic mess. The waitstaff felt rushed and weren't very helpful, especially when ordering off the menu. I wasn't asked which fruit compote I wanted, even though there are options, and since I'm not very familiar with their menu, it slipped my mind to specify. I really dislike compote. When my server brought the plate, I clearly looked unsatisfied and even said, "Oh, I forgot this came with compote," but there was no effort to fix it or even suggest having it removed or served on the side. I brushed it off and said it was fine, but the moment passed without any attempt to make it right. I don't enjoy this restaurant, and just like I mentioned in a review I left about nine years ago, the only reason I came back was because my daughter likes their sweet waffles. This visit didn't change my mind. There are much better options out there, and I don't plan on returning. read more

Truly don't know why I've gone so long without leaving a review. This is the brunch spot on weekends; get ready for a steep waiting time for a table during the breakfast rush! The decor is classic diner but there is a lot of Route 66 representation! Stacks has an immense menu and everything my family has tried so far has been delicious. We usually come for breakfast fare, but we recently had lunch and we decided we had to come back soon to try more lunch fare. Our breakfast faves: Irish Benedict, stuffed French toast, Banana Nut Pancakes, and the Veg Omelette. If you're craving lunch, their tuna melt is BOMB. Sandwiches and wraps also come with a complimentary cup of soup. You'll never go hungry at Stacks. The prices are a little more than usual, but their portions justify the cost. We always have leftovers and leave satisfied! read more

Always a solid breakfast option! I've been to the restaurant multiple times, including before they were renamed, and always have a pleasant experience. Portions are large, not overpriced, and the food is tasty! It is a big restaurant with lots of seating and parking available, but there is always a wait for both on weekend mornings. read more

This place has been on my "To try list" for so long and I'm happy to have finally stopped by! This place is right on historic Route 66 and honestly it's my new favorite American style diner. The hashbrowns are a must here! They're potato-y yet still crispy, but not too greasy. The omelette was amazing and the eggs were perfectly cooked. I'm used to veggie heavy omelettes not having enough of the protein but I got the gyro meat in every bite. The country fried steak was covered in delicious gravy yet still crispy. Not overcooked at all! Service was fast and super friendly. The inside is a lot bigger than it looks on the outside. Very lively and full of families enjoying the food. Plenty of parking on the outside. If you're craving that traditional American diner vibe, this is THE place. read more
I've been wanting to try Stacks for the longest time. My family and I went on a Sunday at noon. We joined the waitlist as we were driving there. Because we had our service dogs, it took another 20 mins. I'm glad we did because the lines were pretty long without it. We ordered their: 1. STUFFED STRAWBERRY PANCAKE 2. COUNTRY FRIED STEAK 3. COUNTRY SKILLET 4. OKLAHOMA SKILLET 5. DENVER OMLETTE 6: CRAB BENEDICT Everything was decent. We actually really like pancakes. Our server, Alejandra was great, friendly, and attentive. When our orders had minor issues, she fixed it right away. Glad we got to try it today and can see why it's a gem in Glendora! read more
An all-American diner with the best pancakes, huge portions, and great service, nestled right on Route 66 in Glendora. The authentic diner experience is right here, and it is still decorated with 1950s style comfy booths to bring you that nostalgia. My fiance and I shared Old Fashioned Buttermilk Flap Jacks, Eggs & Bacon (comes with Flap Jacks), Banana Nut Waffle, Eggs and Hash Brown (comes with Banana Nut Waffle), and had two hot coffees. A thing I love about diners is their amazing service; our server was so friendly and always checked in on us for coffee refills and to ask if we needed anything. Needless to say, my pancakes were huge and everything I had hoped for. Served hot, so fluffy and thick, and even more delicious when I drowned it in maple syrup. I saw other photos that the waffles here look really unique so I convinced my fiance to order it so I can take some bites. The waffles are indeed just as good as they look, if not, even better. They definitely got the waffle part down too. They are crispy/crunchy on the outside, and soft on the inside. Both our breakfast plates came with a side of our choice so we went with eggs, bacon, and hash browns. Everything was delicious and we ended up taking some leftovers home to enjoy the next day. I think we got too excited so we went in a food coma afterwards, and a happy and heavy one at that. I don't think our blood sugar levels can take coming here every weekend but we were saying if we had some international friends visiting us here in the states, Stacks on Route 66 would be a place to bring our friends to give them the full American experience. :) read more

I recently visited Stacks On Route 66 Pancake House in Glendora and left feeling very disappointed due to multiple cleanliness and food safety concerns. Although the restaurant displays an "A" health rating, the most recent inspection posted was from 2024. Based on my experience, I believe a more current evaluation is needed. When I was first seated, the chair at my table was visibly dirty. I attempted to move, and the server did assist by switching the chairs, but the original dirty chair was simply placed at another table without being cleaned. The issue itself was never addressed--just moved. One of the most concerning moments was when our food arrived. My guest's plate of toast was brought out in a way where the bottom of her plate--which had likely been sitting on a counter or other surfaces--was placed directly on top of my toast to hold her plate up. This means the underside of a plate was resting directly on food that I was expected to eat. That is extremely unsanitary. Plates should be carried separately or on a tray, not stacked in a way that contaminates someone else's food. The ketchup bottle on our table was sticky and visibly dirty, making it uncomfortable to even touch. My knife also appeared unclean, as if it had already been used. I also observed a staff member take a used to-go box from a table and place it on top of other "clean" boxes. Combined with seeing stacks of to-go containers openly exposed in the dining area, this raised serious concerns about cross-contamination. Additionally, cleaning tools like a broom were left out in a walkway near the steps where customers pass by, which not only looks unprofessional but also creates a potential safety hazard. The food itself did not help the experience--my sausage was excessively oily, and my egg whites were greasy, which made it difficult to enjoy the meal. I asked to speak with a manager and later realized I was speaking directly with the owner. I appreciate the conversation and the 20% discount offered, but it did not reflect the seriousness of the overall experience. I came in excited to treat a guest and left feeling embarrassed and uncomfortable. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and that improvements are made to both cleanliness standards and overall food handling practices. read more

Take reservations for up 14 people?
Not sure about reservations but they can def accommodate 14. Saturdays and Sunday mornings are their busiest so I'd recommend going early before the crowd arrives.

Yes they serve many types of pancakes. You can order one as a side to any other meal.

Lots of parking all around the building as well as some parking spots you need the DMV permit.

They prefer to have the whole party there before they seat you. So if you can get your name in with the Host/Hostess, it will help.

Probably a 20-30 minute wait but times vary and yes they do have high chairs available.
How long is the wait time on Sunday mornings around 9:00 am?
Around 9am for party of 2 about 20-25 mins for bigger parties 4 or more takes longer the best time to go on a sunday is around 8am gets busy around 8:45 onwards
Do u have to be vaccinated to come inside?
No, they are not checking if you are vaccinated or not
Are there vegan options?
There are definitely items you can make vegan. Take for example the Cali Skillet. All veggies but it does have eggs and cheese. Ask for no cheese and ask them to replace the eggs for fruit. They serve sour dough in place of the pancakes, as well.…
