I recently had to call up Safeco when a rock struck my windshield on the way back from the Woodlands and created a 12 inch crack within a day. As I'm a college student I needed someplace that was reliable and cheap, and Safeco was just that. I read plenty of reviews before going and even though many mentioned the appearance was a bit run down, everyone seemed to agree that the service was great. I called on a Saturday and spoke with Ali who was extremely helpful and accommodating. He gave me an estimate that was less than half of what every other shop had quoted me in town, and he instructed me to come in on Monday, since he had to order my specific windshield (quick customer service, huh?) On Monday I arrived, a little skeptical because the previous review made the establishment seem really sketchy, to be honest. However I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The shop was easy to find and it wasn't as run down as I had pictured. The driveway does have a few potholes that have apparently been a losing battle for them in the past (thanks to all the rain here) and sure, the waiting room is tiny, but honestly they are so quick you aren't there for very long anyways. And for the record there were no "girly pics" inside (nor did I ever get the impression that there had been.) My car was taken back almost instantly, and over the next 45 minutes I happily chatted with Ali while they worked on it. He was very pleasant and immediately put me at ease. He was even nice enough to give me an additional student discount once my car was finished. I waited to write this review because I wanted to give it a week to see if my window had any seepage or anything from being put in improperly. I'm happy to report it was expertly installed and there are no such issues (though Safeco offers warranties in case there is.) Overall I would recommend this place to anyone needing a window repair, body work or mechanic services. Their work is great, the people who work there are extremely friendly and I would easily take my car here over the dealership or the chains that are rude and try to sell you additional services that you don't need. read more

I scheduled an appointment for 9am on Thursday to get my windshield replaced. I came in and gave them the keys, and waited inside for about 20 minutes, as they said it would take an hour. I went to the front desk asking when I should pay, and was told that they listed the wrong car under my name and did not have the correct windshield. They said it would take a few hours for the correct one to come in, and they would have it ready by 4pm. I took an Uber home, and around 3:30pm, I called and asked for an update. The woman who answered the phone said that they were installing the glass at that moment. About 20 minutes later, a guy called me and said that, actually, the glass was chipped in transit and they would have to keep my car overnight as the next shipment would arrive in the morning, and they would deliver it to my apartment no later than 9AM. I had to take an Uber to and from work. The next morning, I called around 8AM and asked for an update. They said that the truck had just arrived and that the car would be ready in about 10 minutes. The same guy called me minutes later saying that the glass delivery HADN'T EVEN ARRIVED, and they would have to drop it off at my work address. I had to take an Uber to work. At noon, I called for ANOTHER UPDATE. The receptionist lady said that someone had to go pick up the glass from Houston as the business closed early for 4th of July, and should be back in 30 minutes and the car would be at my work address at 2pm. You guessed it... the guy calls back and says that the person who went to get the glass in Houston is for some reason stuck there and will be there "as soon as possible," and I will have the car no later than 3:30pm. They delivered the car to me around 2:30pm. I received a $50 discount, which was appreciated. Unfortunately, when I got into my car, there were little shards of glass all on the passenger floorboard and seats, as well as black fingerprints. Some key reminders that make this situation even worse: 1. I lost money because I had to miss hours of work due to them ordering the wrong windshield. 2. I have had to order FOUR UBERS as I obviously did not have a car at the moment. 3. I was the one having to call for updates. Why wasn't this business calling me to let me know about issues? 4. Why was the receptionist lady constantly giving incorrect information and false hope? Do they not communicate with each other? They did offer me a loaner car, but I am not comfortable driving someone else's car. They also offered me personal rides, and I did not feel comfortable getting into a car with a stranger. They also offered to pay for my Ubers, but I asked if they could just deduct the amount from the bill. The original quote was $250 and they restored my headlights to cover the inconvenience, as well as offer delivery. Either way, I was extremely frustrated over this situation because it seems that they kept pushing back the completion time more and more, and I kept losing money. Keep in mind, this windshield replacement was very simple. There are no sensors or recalibrations to deal with. Everyone was very respectful, but this was just completely avoidable if the correct windshield was ordered (and if whoever delivered the glass had properly stored them in transit). I came here because of the mostly good reviews, but I do not recommend spending your hard-earned money at this establishment. read more

My car was heavily damaged after a hail storm. Both my front and rear windshields needed replacing. Not only was I able to get an appointment next day to get my car fixed, but they also priced my repair at half of what the other shops around the BCS area were estimating. They were quick to answer the phone and communicated with me effectively throughout the process. I am very impressed by their service and business. We have gotten multiple windshield repairs at BCS auto glass and the man knows what he is doing! We have had from huge 4 inch cracks to small 2 inch to 1 inch cracks. Each crack repaired with exact precision! The rates are good and Ali knows what he is doing God bless this man! read more

I had my car broken into and my rear window was broken. I called a local shop hoping they could help me but unfortunately that was not the case. I had my car broken into on Saturday night and I called this auto shop on Sunday afternoon. They called me and said because of MLK day it would be a day late. I forgave that. I wake up today on Wednesday to a call from them that my auto glass is here. I say I can be in by 1pm. The guy wants to confirm I ordered the drivers seat glass and I say no. We specifically spoke for about 30 minutes confirming it was the rear window. Who ever runs your phones needs to be retrained or removed. You just lost a $200 customer. I never do this or try to be rude to employees but this was just bad customer service. read more

Amazing experience with this company. The price was less than half the amount of other quotes I got. I called and was able to bring my car in the very next day. Ali called me to let me know that the part wouldn't be there by my appointment time but would call me as soon as it got there. On my last visit to BCS the automatic window on my car broke. It was off the track and would not stay up. Stuck in a parking lot I called Acme Glass, but they said they would not be able to get it till tomorrow. So I gave Safeco Auto Body & Glass a call, and they said come right on over. When we got to the place I was shocked to see that the place was so run down; this place doubles as a auto body/salvage yard. I really begin to feel kinda skeptic about having this place check out my window. But, my thoughts were its "4pm on a Friday we need to take it somewhere." Once we parked near garage (after dodging pot holes all over the parking lot) one of the guys inside the garage came out and help us right away. We explained the problem, and right away before we even could give him permission he started to take apart the door panel. At that time my wife and I took the kids inside to a so called waiting room. More like a dusty man cave with chairs, and chick calenders all over the wall. All I kept thinking to myself is "What the Hell did I get us into". I felt a little better; after I noticed the place did some good work from seeing some before and after photos on the. I went outside to see what was going on with the car window. The man working on it already figured out the problem. It was the cable, housing, and track that needed to be replaced. I had not time to worry about price; my concern was fix it ASAP. The man said he could fix first thing in the morning, but could tape the window shut temporally. It seemed crazy at the time, but I did call other places and they couldn't fit us in. When we returned in the morning and a different man replaced the part and had us out of there in an hour. I was so glad to have this problem over and done with I didn't care about the $180 price tag. I was satisfied with the work, and have not had any problems with my car window since. Upon further search on the Internet I found out that Safeco gave us a fair price on the part and service. I give 4 stars to Safeco Auto Body & Glass. I would give it 5 stars, but the place could look more clean and professional. read more

My experience with Safeco/Avalon was a great experience. My truck had been broken into and my window was shattered. Safeco was the only place open on a Saturday and they were able to get the window that I needed and installed within an hour. So my car got broken into on monday and I needed a new window quick, I called many different places and got quotes and these guys beat all the others by $20. Ali was incredibly nice and understanding, he talked to me while the other mechanic fixed the car. The repair was very quick, it took about 35 minutes to get everything working and I paid and left.
