a shelf of jars and jars

This place is elite! They have everything you could ever ask for from fresh grounded coffee from all over the world to laundry sheets and detergent. I got the most amazing local honey made right in Newtown, great matcha, baby mini size animal crackers for my friends 3 year old, a Sandy Hook coordinate candle that scent is "winter in New England" for me to bring back to my California fam as a souvenir. We got great candy and ingredients this place is a must visit you'll be returning again and again. They have all different nuts and mixes and you can bring your own jar or buy one there and have them refill. The toasted coconut coffee is so yummy and I'm not even a big coffee girl. They're following all covid restrictions, masks, they give you sanitizer at the door and then gloves to wear while you're walking around. I can't believe I just discovered this place! My family got gift certificates here for Christmas, it was my first time but they're regulars since I am here for the holidays from out of town.

Everything you could ever want lives in these barrels.

This place is straight up awesome. They have literally a hundred barrels filled with everything a foodie could want. Plenty of speciality grains, flour, spices, mixes for things like cookies, seasoned rice dishes, and oils and vinegars. They also have all of the ingredients in a bundle to make homemade elderberry syrup, if that's your thing. Prices for the seasons rices and grains are actually very reasonable, coming in at $5-$6 a pound, when you think that a 5 ounce box of commercial brands goes for $2 or so a box. Absolutely worth a visit if you find yourself near by.

First time customer and never going back. Spent nearly $10 on a small bag of the GF Pizza Flour but when I went to make it and followed the recipe (attached), it was just oily four. I called to ask what the problem was and told them that something seemed off. The person on the phone had to call her boss and get back to me, which she did, only to be told, "We got the recipe wrong. You also have to add a cup and 1/4 water." That's it. No apology, like, "Sorry we messed up a super important part" or "Did you already toss it out?" or some kind of credit the next time I'm in...y'know...regular customer service stuff. Nothing. I'm obviously the first person who ever bought that product since I was the guinea pig/sucker who found the problem. That's a job of a manager, not a customer, but whatever. Clearly, they don't care about repeat business. They just want your money now. One star only because the person on the phone was very nice.

Even Santa knows what's up! Caught him getting reindeer snacks!

A huge selection of bulk dried goods with a few extras such as local honey. Their coffee selection is amazing!

It's great to be able to buy in bulk and bring my own jars and containers to cut down on packaging.

I am obsessed with Robeks in Newtown, CT!! Ive ordered ahead on their app two days in a row…read more I will start out with its a bit pricey a 22oz medium size smoothie is $8 plus. However, when You buy organic its more expensive. When you shop at Whole Foods & Trader Joe's vs Big Y and Shoprite its more expensive. You pay more for the health benefits. Day 1 I got a medium nuts about protein smoothie (which has active water, peanut butter, coffee, raw honey, cinnamon, multi vitamin, and non fat frozen yogurt). This shake also comes with whey because I excluded that Im not looking to be buff! All the ingredients are so fresh and I feel like a health nut drinking it. Except its absolutely delicious. Day 2 - I got the same smoothie in large but this time with peanut banana toast. My husband would never normally touch non crunchy peanut butter. But he tried my peanut butter toast and actually liked it! Using the app I was given several rewards for money off my first day I used my $3 off reward for using the app. Today I used the $2 off reward for my first order and I still have $1 left in rewards for a new rewards program they have. Between the protein and fruit smoothies, acai bowls, and toasts Im sure You'll find at least one thing you love.

The issue here is that there is normally only one person at the counter. To have four people in front of you is to wait 15 minutes for a drink. Nope. I have walked out twice because of this. I ordered the pesto gnocchi and it was perfection. Super creamy and flavorful which was great for a cold winter day. I had a glass of their super tuscan which was great too!

My wife and I were at a distillery in Roxbury. We live in Danbury. I was looking for a quality food…read morespot in between and newtown came to mind. So, knowing that Sugo existed, I immediately routed us to their location, as this is a place that's been on my list of places to try. Short view? Everything started great. But did not follow through. The service was awesome. Our waitress, and forgive me as I cannot remember her name, was amazing. When we arrived we observed her interactions with her child and it automatically endeared her to us. And, as a server she was absolutely top notch. We understand from conversations, that she often works the bar. Either way she is awesome and the bright spot of our experience. The ambiance of the place was beautiful. Super refined looking, albeit with uncomfortable chairs at the tables. But I'm not looking for "comfort" per se, I'm looking for beauty. And this spot hits the mark. The we began ordering. Off the cocktail menu, I ordered their version of a pina colada and it was tasty af but definitely weak. My wife ordered a dirty martini with bleu cheese olives that she felt was weak. After those, we each ordered French martinis, that were super lacking in all flavor save for vodka. So strong, a bonus, but not good. As an app, we ordered their calamari which I order everywhere we go. This one lived up to the standard. Nice, big, meaty pieces of squid. A good breading, and a decent (if not underwhelming) sauce. I ordered their version carbonara as a main, and it was likewise, underwhelming. It was over buttered and over creamed. Which, if one knows anything about a traditional carbonara, it involves neither butter nor cream. I get that this is a gastropub and as such they will take liberty with ingredients and traditions; however, if I can make a better one at home... what's the point? My wife ordered the seafood grill which included branzino and shrimp. The branzino was delicious (but slightly over), but the shrimp stopped everything. The shrimp was rotten. On the plate it smelled like an unclean barn. I will say, we had to bring this issue to the attention of our server, and she kindly and appropriately comped our latter two drinks as a result. This made us happy as the drinks comped over the price of the plate, however, the smell is one that stays with us. Even at the time of this writing. We finished up our meal. I took home most of my carbonara as I felt confident I could make it taste good at home, but that's not the point of dining out. If and when I spend this type of money on food, I expect it to be right. This experience was not right. And if it weren't for the server, this review would be a 2 star.
