Came here for brunch a few weeks ago on Sunday. Nice time. Very cute in here. We were celebrating my friend's engagement so we got a bottle of Prosecco which was nice, and ordered off the brunch menu. I got the Farmhouse Omelet and wow, that was rich and dense! I had leftovers for the next day. It was very good but again, the gouda is rich. They put it in the middle of the omelete. Nice pieces of bacon on the side and I ordered gluten free toast. My other friends got the fried chicken sandwich and the lamb burger. No complaints but I can't speak too much about their dishes. Just make sure to come hungry if you're getting the omelet. read more

Thanks to fellow helpers, we found this restaurant. Went during the week, and it wasn't busy. Just one other couple in the main dining room. Several couples at the bar. Had to wait a few minutes for the hostess, which gave us an opportunity to view their decor. Main dining room is actually divided in two but was spacious. Waitress immediately stopped by to get our drinks settled. She was welcoming and friendly. Their menu had a lot of choices, so we just ordered the fried calamari to start. In the meantime, she brought warm rolls while we decided on entrees. Saw photos of their hamburgers and knew my husband would love it. I had a hard choice between the hangar steak or seafood linguini . The calamari came out, so I went for the linguini . The calamari was so Good! Some of the hot peppers were also fried , so be careful. Had a bite and was choking, but just ate more calamari. A winner! Entrees came out and both were so good! My husband was so happy. His hand cut fries were so good too. Cooked exactly as he liked, with Gorgonzola for the cheese. My linguine was really good too. Had scallops and shrimp. There was so much pasta, I couldn't finish. Took it home. Unfortunately, no room for dessert, but I hear their crème brûlée is good too. Have to try it next time. Service was really good. Our waitress checked on us quite a bit. Checkout didn't take long either. In all, we had a terrific meal and good time. Can't wait to return. If you're interested in a good night, stop on by. read more

Excellent variety on menu to satisfy just about anyone's craving for upscale American eats. Overall 4.25+ experience for all the above. Expect to pay $20-35pp for entrees plus any drinks or starters. We shared our dinners. The cheeseburger hit the spot for me! It was cooked perfectly to order, and a filling sandwich with fresh cut fries and cole slaw side. The Thai Shrimp (large) was tasty with curry flavored noodles and generous portion size; I liked the dish but would stay with their "comfort food" specialties next time. Others enjoyed the Charcuterie platter and Mushroom Raviolis entree. They all looked delicious, with nice presentations. A shoutout to our server (Jen) as we only had 1.25 hours to eat, but she was fantastic! She took excellent care to ensure we were served promptly for drinks, food order and bill - thank you for your efficient and friendly service! Finally we were seated at a round table in the back; it was perfect for 6 to dine and visit. Recommend reservations, especially on weekends. Absolutely beautiful hidden gem!! Do yourself a favor and eat at Farmhouse!! They serve *true* farm to table style food, even listing the farms they source from. I love the rustic charm, the space is beautiful and full of natural light. The service is warm and friendly. Food comes out in great time and it is absolutely delicious!! It's a little pricier, but mind you the sourcing couldn't be any better!! We really loved every bit of this place and can't wait to come back with friends!! What a lovely surprise this place was. We arrived to a quiet scene at the bar and were well attended to; who can blame the staff when the place filled up and became very busy. We enjoyed several cocktails, onion soup, a salad and crab cakes. All were delicious. The dining area was well attended and the place was very clean and well lit. Don't write it off just because it's in a shopping plaza. Super fun and checked all the boxes. The only "sad" part was the crème brûlée was clearly out of a box and still partially frozen, so we took one bite and the friendly staff graciously took it off the bill. No harm, no foul. read more

We recently drove from Long Island, NY, to Newtown, CT, to meet up with a high school friend for brunch. We try to get together a few times a year, and since I had a few things to bring to her, we thought brunch would be perfect. My friend, who is vegan, recommended the Farmhouse Restaurant, and it did not disappoint! The restaurant is so charming, set in a beautiful part of Connecticut. We were greeted warmly and seated promptly with our reservation. I ordered the burger and fries, and the chicken and waffles, while my friend--who trusts the chef's vegan options completely--let him create a custom vegan dish for her, which she loved, as always. The food was fantastic! When I spotted the dessert tray going by, I knew we had to save room. We enjoyed the crème brûlée cheesecake, classic crème brûlée, and my friend had a refreshing vegan mango sorbet. Farmhouse is a great option for when you're looking to dial down after a long day. I HIGHLY recommend going to this restaurant. The ambiance really reminds me of a farmhouse. Went here for my Dad's birthday because of all the good Yelp reviews. We made a reservation, but 5 pm on a weekday it was not too busy. There is no special reserved area, though, because the walk-ins were sat right next to us, and they were so loud that we had to practically yell just to hear each other until they finally moved tables. Our waitress was very nice and patient with us as we figured out what to order off the menu. I can't really speak for their normal menu, but as an appetizer, we got the lobster arancini, and that was delicious. However, there were three of us, and they only served us two arancini, so as an appetizer that you would expect to serve everyone, this fell a little short. For dinner I ordered the chateaubriand, having recently gotten into cooking and julia child. The beef sauce it came with was delicious and the presentation was really spot on. For dessert though, this is a key surprise element: the dessert menu. My father was getting impatient after asking but the surprise was that the menu itself (pictured) was the actual dessert items on a little tray! I've never seen that done anywhere before, and it was a really nice touch, but definitely something to keep in mind going in if you're with impatient people haha. The staff were very nice and sang happy birthday and even topped the pie with a candle for my dad to blow out, so overall, he had a very good birthday! I would definitely come here again because, in the end, the service was so good, and so many of the food items looked delicious and just waiting to be tried! read more

I absolutely love coming here for brunch on the weekends! It is offered every Saturday and Sunday. They offer $4 Bloody Mary's and mimosas which you can customize with different juices. There is a variety of sweet and savory breakfast and lunch options. My favorite dish is the farmhouse omelette. Stopped in for an early dinner around 5ish pm. We got the last table for two without a reservation. Generally as two we dont make reservations but now we know going forward if You want a guarantee a table. Our waitress Patty was Amazing. We shared a french onion soup because Im diabetic and cannot each too much broth. Patty was so thoughtful as to have the soup split into two bowls. My husband had the salmon I dont remember what specifically came with it. I know it was a nice grainy red color rice. He said the salmon was cooked perfect. Service is amateurish at best; the staff seems completely disconnected from its primary duties and consumed with gossip & social media, but that is probably the bane of 98% of the restaurants in operation today. Food ranges from skimpy / crappy Charcuterie, to a mediocre Tuna tart tar, to very good Duck Breast. It's been a couple years since my last visit, but I hope there will be an enormous improvement before my next visit. In the area for a meeting, needed something quick and this place had decent reviews. Had the bacon wrapped filet with rustic veggies. The filet was good, the veggies were the star of the show. I came here for a family brunch on a Sunday. I started off with a hard cider - very refreshing, and we decided to split 2 orders of the lumpia. Being half Filipino, I grew up with my mom's homemade lumpia so these were not authentic. They did taste good, but I would consider them basic spring rolls. For my entree, I ordered the Fish Tacos with sweet potato fries. The flavor of the tacos were very good, and I liked the fries. The only complaint I have is that the tacos had no hold - they broke apart and I needed to eat them with a fork. I wanted to like this place more because the woman who seated us was the sweetest lady ever. She engaged us in friendly conversation and was very pleasant. The place was very crowded and we were still able to get a seat right away. the servers were sweet as well. But let's face it, it can't only be about the service. The food needs to deliver as well. I got the chicken sandwich and although it was a generous portion, that does not matter when the taste is not good. The chicken itself was under seasoned and tasted like a processed chicken patty we use to get in school lunch in NYC public schools. The bun and garnishes used for the chicken were great, but it is all about the chicken in a chicken sandwich. My friends all ordered simple dishes and their food looked fine, I did not taste any of their dishes. One ordered the kids chicken fingers and it was the same chicken that was used for my chicken sandwich. Maybe if we go back I will try something else and update this review, but for now, unfortunately I have to be honest and say the food disappointed. What a rip off. Went for dinner and they offered a menu of wines. Bartender said you're in luck - half off bottles of wine tonight. OK great we picked a bottle for $34. We buy the same bottle (one of our favorites) all the time for $17 at the liquor store. When the bill came, we were charged $34. And when we questioned it, they said that was the half off price. Asked so you are telling me you normally charge $68 for a bottle that cost $17 the liquor Store ?? Their answer was yes ! That is taking advantage of your customers. Food was good though. read more

New management is terrible. The previous owner was great however the new one doesn't know what she's doing and it can show. Waitress was really nice though. Even the food quality has significantly decreased, when I ordered the chicken and waffles the waffle was pretty good but the chicken was more of a flat bread and was tough, dry, and flavorless. Within minutes, the wonderful staff quickly and graciously managed to accommodate us. I can not say enough wonderful things about this place! Service was fast, food was good and the drink selections were creative. We came early to beat the brunch crowd (we were the first ones there) and I'm happy we did. The place fills up pretty quickly! The only negative was that we were joined by bees as we sat in the outside seating area. I know that this is something you cannot control but it's a little frustrating swatting bees as they land on your pancakes and in your mimosa. Otherwise, I would definitely return, but sit inside this time. read more
