Experience: I used to go to BDs back when I was staying in Dayton for some schooling about 20 years ago. It had always been one of my favorite places to eat. So I'm visiting my brother and I had to take my nephew to try it. Facility: It has changed... definitely been updated since I was there last, but overall it still had the same basic layout as I remembered. Service: the waitress was great. She was tending bar too, but she never left us hanging. The manager was nice too, and the cook. Everyone made our experience great. Food: I have always said anyone who doesn't like BDs, it's your own fault. LOL! You picked out the ingredients ‍ We got the mixed appetizer so we could try a few things. Of course my kid loved the cheese sticks. And he liked the eggroll. But I didn't think they were that great. They were a little soft and not crunchy. Also the potstickers seemed overcooked and a little soft too. But the stir fry... 10/10!!!! Oh wait, the reason I marked down my review to a 4 is because they stopped putting my favorite ingredient on the bar.... Cabbage!!! Like who ever heard of stir fry or Mongolian BBQ without cabbage. This is the main ingredient in my concoction and I was so sad they didn't have it. The manager told me it was seasonal. Cabbage?!?! They could even rotate the cabbage between green, Napa, red, and savoy, but please put some type of cabbage back on the bar!!! Such a fun spot for a family dinner! We love coming to this Mongolian restaurant -- it's become one of our go‑to places. It can definitely get busy (especially on weekends), but honestly that's because the ingredients are always super fresh and there's so much to choose from. Every bowl we've built has been delicious, and my family and I never leave disappointed. The ambience is cozy with nice dim lighting, though it can get a little loud when the place fills up. Service has always been solid. The staff is friendly, accommodating, and quick to help. And yes, they do take reservations, which is a huge plus on busy nights. If I had to point out one downside, it's that the bowl you fill up is pretty small and you only get one. It makes it a bit of a challenge to stack all your ingredients without them trying to escape over the sides -- a fun little game, but still worth mentioning. Yep, I know it's a chain, but not the worst choice in a SEA of chains in this area. I think I might have been here YEARS ago, but it's been AGES, so it was pretty much a new experience for me. I liked being able to pick and choose what would go in my bowl... LOTS of veggies and meats, something for just about everyone. I was with a group of "light" eaters (#$%*@!!) or I probably would have ordered the "unlimited" option, which I think would have been a better deal for only a few bucks more. Didn't order any apps/sides, but you'll find most of the standard, Americanized Asian choices, no huge surprises. I'd like to come back, one of these days, perhaps with a group of less "well-behaved" eaters, and sample more of what's available... Put those guys at the grill REALLY to work!! We stopped in with a large group (with advance reservation.). Even though they knew we were coming, it seemed that the staff was woefully shorthanded. We waited quite a while just to put in our drink orders and a trip to the grill. Hubby and I filled our bowls with veggies and all the fixins the best we could then stood in line for the grill. We noticed there seemed to be a lot of cross-contamination between the orders on the grill, so if you have food allergies, be cautious. Once grilled and veggies softened up, we ended up with pretty skimpy servings. Seems that the rice is the main thing they count on here to fill up their customers. And if you are not that skilled of blending the right sauces and seasonings yourself, then your food can turn out to be kind of meh. Hubby and I had iced tea and bowls, no extras for $56. Ate here this evening to celebrate our 26th wedding Anniversary. It was so delicious . Our waitress was very nice and got our drinks and bowls quick. Our food was made right there and came out so hot and good. I absolutely love this place. The ambiance was entertaining since you get to watch the food being made in front of you. I took my boo here finally and he loved it as I knew he would. I haven't been here since I was a kid and everything was still the same, the taste was the same and everything was great as expected. We debated on getting the unlimited bowl, but knowing me one was just enough and surprisingly for him one bowl was just enough too. They give you a bowl and you fill it up to as much as you want with any type of meat, vegetables sauces and seasonings. I can't even recall all of the things we both put in our bowls but somehow his ended up being more than mine and we found ourselves smushing the bowl down numerous times to fit more ingredients into the bowl. I was pretty disappointed with this place. I'm used to ICs Mongolian and they have a couple of Mrs. here that made it very different for me. It took them an excessively long time to sit us. They lead in three or four groups of four but couldn't get me and my kids in. We were seated well and kindly, and our drinks and orders were taken. They had a lot of chaos around the grill. A couple of people who really understand how to make it work would make it run smoothly instead of backing up 20 people long and taking as long as it did. It was very noisy. It was very expensive. BD Mongolian has become one of our go to spots due to its variety, cleanliness and consistency. They never disappoint. We always try to go earlier in the day before the dinner crowd, so the restaurant was relatively empty. So much so that there was only one person cooking. We never need more than one bowl each. Because you choose the food, seasonings and sauces, the only requirement left is good service. The food, as usual, was cooked to perfection. We always have great service no matter when we go and today was no exception. Our server Deseray was pleasant and attentive. Our meal was less than $45 including tip for 2. You can pull one of their recipe cards off the wall to give yourself a little bit of guidance. For an extra charge you can add their salad and soup bar. You will never leave here hungry. I love this place and will be back. I came with my family during their slower time (I don't understand how they don't have more customers) and one of the owners was present and practically rolled out the red carpet for us. Food and hospitality was amazing, she even told us how to make our bowls taste the best (and didn't steer us wrong!) For Cincy's first Mongolian Grill, they did a great job. Only downside was the limited selection for meats, they only had 5 options, with 3 being frozen (I'm assuming for costs purposes) so I recommend piling your bowl up as much as possible (literally) to get your moneys worth! I love this place! I've ate her twice and will definitely be back! I love the concept that you get to personally hand pick what you want in your bowl and customize it exactly how you want! Lots of noodles, meat, and veggie options-as well as spices and sauces! I love spicy food-and I LOVE sauces! They have so many to choose from! You can make it really spicy or not at all. Also each bowl comes with your choice of white or brown rice or tortilla's on the side in addition to your bowl. Or service was prompt and friendly! I also love that the kid bowl is half the price since my youngster definitely wanted to have a bowl like us-but I knew wouldn't eat as much as us. The bowl price is reasonable for an adult as well-and for only $3 more you get unlimited. However, both times I could only handle the one bowl and had leftovers. All three of us had to ask for a box! An employee was actively cleaning by the buffet while we were there and the guy that cooked the food did wonderful-and my daughter enjoyed seeing them cook it in front of her. The ambience of the place is casual, laid back and cool. Great place for a date, friends, and/or a family. Fountain drinks are a little high in my opinion, but they have wonderful strawberry lemonade here! Crab Rangoons could be approved on.. as they are pricey for how many you get (5 for $8) and for their size-and I personally couldn't taste any crab in them. I went to bd's a few weeks ago and picked up a create your own bowl to go. I got home and it was LOADED with salt. The ingredients, (beyond rice and chicken), were also minimal. I also had a reward for a free appetizer and was unable to redeem it. When contacting customer support, they pawned me off on the store manager. He said that customer support would be able to help me with redeeming my reward, (which they didn't), and he blamed my choice of ingredients on why the bowl was too salty. I know what I ordered. There's a difference between what I ordered and what I got. I was very disappointed with the manager's response and the lack of accountability and help all around. 20 bucks for an entree that ends up in the trash definitely isn't worth it. read more

Made reservations for a party of 15 for a birthday at the Beavercreek restaurant located at the Greene. They have stopped providing eggs with the meals and expect everyone to pay the same price. Maybe they should have mentioned this when we made the reservation. Instead they made sure to remind us that with a large party they would automatically add on a 18% tip to the bill. We understand egg prices have went up, however, if meat prices go up are they gonna eliminate that as an option for meals as well. Come on BD's! read more

Not sure why this place has 3.5 stars. We love coming here. This was the first time at this location and I have to say it's one of the best ones we've been too. Cooks were super engaged. When our kiddos dropped a dollar in the tip jar they had chants for each dollar. The meat and veggie bars were well stocked and even had some varieties we hadn't seen elsewhere. The manager was super involved directing folks to the right spots and when our plates were finished he helped us carry them back as we had 3 kids. Great meal, great fun. We have eaten here 25 or 30 times since the bd's in Mason closed. It has always been a pleasant experience. I love their large selection of meats and vegetables and especially their wide selection of sauces--I generally like mine spicy and slightly hot (with jalapenos, etc.) and this is easy to do here as opposed to some other Mongolian places. Service is usually good. I like their brown rice option and usually get that. Their rewards program usually gets you a free bowl for your birthday. About a 45 minute drive for us but worth it and we'll keep returning. read more

I wasn't sure about this place, but it was actually good. I like the way you can pick out what you want in your bowl and they cook it right there in front of you and they'll bring it to your table. They had someone standing at the stations to make sure the counters were staying sanitized and clean. They had so many sauces and seasonings to choose from. But you have to really be careful and not to put too many seasons or you could overpower your dish. You can get one bowl or unlimited bowls depending on how hungry you are. Normally a good experience, but the manager on the day shift today didn't care about the employees. We're still in a Covid era and she sat table after table on top of eachother in the same servers section. The server was nice and did a fine job, but clearly stressed by all traffic and short staffing. After we spoke to them about it, the manager again slid in yet another table and gave us the size eye. Virtue signaling at its finest! Bd's has a new policy: the pandemic is over, no mask mandates or covid guidelines are mandated anymore, yet here you can't stand and wait for your food at the grill, nor can you make a plate when you want. They put your name on a sticky note, you sit for half an hour waiting for permission to go put stuff in your bowl, and then you have to sit down while it's cooked and a "manager" brings it to you. So instead of you grabbing your own plate once it's ready, they've added another pair of hands to your plate that can transmit germs. Makes a lot of sense doesn't it. Won't be back. This wasn't my first visit to this establishment but might be my last. First, we pretty much had to break up the group of girls at the front desk, just to get sitted. Then, ordered drinks and choice of rice. When we got back to the table, neither were there and the waitress acted like she had no clue we wanted anything, but she eventually got it. At the time we went to get our food, I didnt notice that the whole window was full of bins with food stacked up. It was sweltering hot outside and the sun was backing this stuff. I noticed it when we sat down to eat. I have no idea how long the food sat there but over half was still there when we left. Grossed me out so much I couldn't eat, especially when I saw some of it was raw meat. Put that stuff on a cart or something and fill spaces when needed, don't stack it all up on the window and take what's needed as the spots come open. That's disgusting. You can tell by my reviews, I don't normally complain about things and like to think I see the good in almost all places, but in addition to the food being left out, the place was so dirty and the staff was too busy socializing to worry about its customers.
