The greeters were very friendly, attentive, and helpful. Our wait person was very attentive, respectful, and hospitable. She kept our cups full and kept asking if we needed anything more than the usual questioning times. BD Grill is pretty good.. It's an average Mongolian grill located at The Greene. It was pretty packed on a Sunday at 1pm, and it was still pretty packed after we left. It's a popular spot I suppose. The concept is pretty easy, you put what you want into a bowl and they have people cooking it for you. There is a big selection of meats from beef, chicken, pork, shrimp, imitation crab, and scallops. They even have eggs you can bring to have the guys cook your meal with. And there are lots of veggies you can choose from. The sauce station was a little messy and sticky since it was a sauce station. Service was great when we were there even though it was packed. You get a ton of food with just the one bowl. You don't have to do the unlimited option. Also each bowl comes with your chose of white rice, brown rice, lettuce, or tortilla. Or you can pay extra and get fried rice. The fried rice isn't the kind of fried rice you would get at a Chinese restaurant. It's more similar to the kind you'd get at PF Changs. If you sign up for their eclub online, you get an email on your birthday for a free bowl with the purchase of a bowl. Also, the restaurant can be kind of loud and smokey if you sit near the cooks so try to sit near the bar. read more

Mongolian BBQ! If you are in the mood for creating your own stir-fry dishes, this is the place. If you have never had Mongolian, the staff is friendly here, they will guide you through the process. When you enter, you will get seated, place your order for your rice type, fried, white or brown, order your drinks, then the waiter/waitress will bring your bowl for the main event! Head to the meat/veggie station and then finish off at the sauce creation station. There is a guide to create the type of sauce you want, right at the sauce station. Here, they dont want you to mix the sauce into your creation. The cook wants you to put the sauce in the little black bowls at the sauce station. If you dont do this, the cook will promptly remind you to do so. If you choose the buffet, you can go back for refills until you cant eat anymore. Save room for dessert, if you can! Meats are bad cuts with plenty of fat or muscle going through the beef. They undercooked my daughters beef and pasta. It was inedible and we told them she couldn't chew the meat because it was raw, the waitress could see it was raw, she asked if my daughter wanted another bowl, well of course she didn't because she lost her appetite. It's only $6.99 but she never offered to let us speak to a manager or to take it off check since she really barely ate anything. This place is fantastic! There is no BD's Mongolian Grill in the city where I live, but I usually find my way to one when I visit a city that has one. My recent trip to this one was great, I was very happy with it, and I'd recommend you go here. As I arrived, I was happy to see the location of this restaurant in an outdoor mall. I thought it was the kind of location that would attract lots of people and would be a cool place to hang out. Fortunately, there was a free parking garage just a block away. When I got there, the hostess seated me right away and explained how it worked. Basically, you can go up to the "buffet" once for a fee; if you want to go again, it costs extra, but not as much as the first time (only a few bucks more), but also once you have paid to go a second time, you can go as many times as you want for no additional cost. So anyway, the buffet is a selection of raw meats and veggies. I was happy with the selection of both. I especially liked their selection of seafood - this is something that sets BD's apart. Other Mongolian BBQs will not offer seafood or only one thing, but BDs had shrimp, scallops, calamari, and imitation crab - not bad! So you go through the line, putting whatever meats (including seafood and pasta) you want in your bowl, then do the same for the veggies. Then there's a sauce bar. You get a little dish just for your sauce and put whatever combination of sauce(s) you want in it; they had maybe 20 to choose from. I like to put a little sauce in the bowl with my food so it cooks with the food longer; the grillers dont usually add your small thing of sauce until your food is almost done cooking. At the end of the sauce bar, they also had some spices you could use to add some flavor to your food. Next, I gave my food to the grillers, they grilled it, then I sat down and ate it. The beauty of a Mongolian BBQ is that you should be able to make any kind of food you want, given the selection of raw materials. I've gone to Mongolian BBQ places before and eaten Thai, Chinese, Mediteranean, Tex-Mex, and Cajun food, among others; On this trip I had a lemon seafood dish, a spicy Asian dish and a Thai peanut dish (the key is to not fill your bowl up all the way, that way you dont get full after 1 or 2 trips up). At a Mongolian BBQ, the quality of the food is largely what you make it. Since you are selecting what goes in, and all the restaurant does is cook it, you are just as much if not more responsible for the quality of your own food as the griller. I think the key to a good meal at a Mongolian BBQ is to go up to the "buffet" with a game plan - have some kind of idea what you are going for. I have gone up there at times without a game plan and the results have been disappointing. This time though, I was very happy with what I got. I enjoyed it and would go back again. Each dish I had ended up being very flavorful and enjoyable. BD's is my favorite Mongolian BBQ regardless of location. I've been to ones in Washington DC, Chicago, Kansas City and of course Dayton, but what you get is consistent at each. I've also been to other Mongolian BBQ, and with one exception for a place that went out of business, BD's is better than any other Mongolian BBQ I've ever visited. Compared to other Mongolian BBQs, I like their selection of ingredients and spices (lots of Mongolian BBQs dont offer spices at all). The spices really give your food a lot more flavor. The restaurant was casual but clean. I was surprised how busy it was on a Thursday night - almost all the tables were occupied. Overall, I like this place. You can essentially have multiple meals with radically different tastes all in one sitting. The environment is fun, different, and exciting. And of course, the food was great (just remember to have a plan when you go up to the buffet). Given what this place is, I can't imagine someone not liking the food at this restaurant. We usually love visiting BD's, so much that we travel an hour just to go there since the one near us shut down. But at our latest visit, my husband asked for a to-go box for the remainder of his bowl and were told that that was not allowed and we would be charged $9.99 for a box. We asked when that policy changed since we have NEVER had this issue. We usually get at least two bowls and hate wasting food. Then the waitress blatantly lied, stating that this policy was always in place. We KNOW that is not the case. You've disappointed some very loyal customers, Beavercreek. read more

After some searching on yelp, I ran across this little gem. I cruised the reviews and decided I had to check it out. I walked into a packed house. This was a good sign. I opted to sit in the bar because I was by myself and I didn't want to wait. My hanger was growing. I sat down to a welcome bartender ready to help me out. She offered me a drink and slid me a bowl. I loaded up with a bunch of raw meats (chicken, beef and shrimp) and a bunch of good veggies. The sauce bar was loaded with a bunch of different choices. I wasn't sure what to choose so I went with a mixture. After that, I got up to the counter to get my meal cooked. The guys cooking had a bunch of excitement. They flung out my food and began to sing as they went in circles cooking my meal. After it was cooked, they grabbed my sauce mixture and laid down that delicious spread. After that, I went back to the bar to scarf down my amazing meal. After that was done, I went to the fully stocked salad bar and loaded up a plate of "good for you" food. After eating all that, I was stuffed. I am glad that I didn't order the all you can eat because It would have been a waste of money. Overall, I had an amazing experience. This spot is worth the stop. The BIG deal was the SMALL portions. $15 create your own stir-fry provided one small scoop of rice (think ice cream cone at summer camp small). I chose beef as my protein, and when I could find some it was not bad. It was more like baby corn and onions with a side of beef. My wife did enjoy her food, but also mentioned the small portions. Been to this location in the past for a decent experience. My most recent one however was pretty bad. The first thing I noticed was the chicken was full of fat as easily seen in this picture. Going down the line the broccoli was also very pale and looked old and white onions were rubbery and old this place just pours it out there and doesn't really think of the quality. Worst BD's you could possibly go to, BDs used to treat their customers number one. They would let you take your second bowl leftovers home. Replace your bowl for free when you find something wrong with it even if you found it had hair in it halfway through (). Now the staff says you can't have a second bowl to go, the hair you find is treated by the managers as the customer lying, even if their is proof, and if you demand a refund the manager will call security and say you're a drunk. I will never recommend this location again to anyone. 5 year customer lost permanently. Oh also Steve Mayer the GM also took it upon himself to have our table cleared of food and drinks and resat our seat while we were clearing up his mess. when I demanded reparations for the food and drink lost, he told us to get out. This used to be such a great Bd's location. My husband I went this past week and were so disappointed. The employees used to be really cool and inviting. Everyone here now just seems to dislike their job anymore. The food has also went WAYYY down hill in the past year or two. The meats like chicken and steak sat in soooo much water. They subbed the mini meatballs for bland Walmart style large meatballs. There is usually like 10 seasonings out and this time there was max MAYBE 5. I got blocks on my meal because of an allergy, and still came back with half of the meat that was in my bowl originally. The seats and floor were still dirty when we were sat and we maybe saw our waitress 3 times. Our drinks also sat empty most of the time. We won't be back any time soon. read more

I probably don't need to go over the fine details of how the place works, just read John M.'s explanation. I went driving today at lunch break, got about halfway down Dorothy Lane and was like, "It's a BD's kinda day." I jump at the opportunity to eat here because my wife HATES it. Why does she hate it? Well, most of her hatred centers around the fact that she can't seem to make a good dish. Regardless, there are ways around this: a) there are recipe cards on the wall, use one or b) follow my super secret recipe to food nirvana: Matt C.'s Spicy Noodle Lambeef First, coat the bottom of the bowl with noodles. Then, add generous amounts of lamb and ribeye. Next, add bean sprouts and mushrooms and onions Super Secret Sauce! 1 1/2 ladles of Soy 1/2 ladle kung pao 1/2 ladle chili garlic 1/2 spoon curry powder 1/2 spoon cayenne pepper Dash of Ginger ENJOY! What a difference a different location makes. I had been to other Mongolian grill locations which were sub-par. This one has good service, more upscale atmosphere, and 3x the selection of meats, veggies, and sauces. So the deal is you build your own bowl to have stir fried. Part of the fun is seeing how much you can fit in one bowl at a time. The first buffet style bar is meats/tofu/seafood, the second bar is all the veggies, and the third is where you pick all of your sauces. Once complete you bring your bowl up the grill where they cook it for you and put on a little show. Choice of white rice, brown rice, tortillas, and lettuce wraps delivered to your table. They now have fried rice as well for an extra charge. There is a separate salad bar including soups for your side. Best value is the unlimited bowl, but bring your appetite. -My fave bowl includes the sirloin, various veggies, egg, chili garlic sauce, pad thai sauce, and brown rice at the table. -Try their deep fried oreos if you have room for dessert. read more

I love ANY kind of Mongolian BBQ...from small ma-n-pa places to chains like BD's...and they've all been pretty good. BD's is amongst the best, simply due to their variety of veggies, meats, and sauces. It was great having the ability to order a beer with my dinner, and even sit at the bar and watch TV whilst I enjoyed two bowls. I do have some concerns, and that is, how about LARGER bowls, or at least after I commit to the second bowl, allowing me to take up two bowls with me? Also, consider having less viscous sauces...like more soy based sauces that are less thick. I think the thinner sauces steam up better and add flavor, whereas the thicker sauces (think 'thick BBQ' sauce), just gum things up. Finally, how about some pepper oil as a post-cooking flavor additive? I used the sesame seeds, but a hot pepper oil would be terrific. Keep up the great work, but see if you can address the bowl size, the sauce thickness, and the new condiment (pepper oil). Thanks! read more

Went to this location last night for the first time in years and it was delicious! Salad was fresh, tomato soup was fantastic, and crab rangoons were good, but maybe fried just a little bit too long. Veggie fried rice wasn't the best, next time I'll save the $4 and opt for the free white or brown rice instead. They also have the Coca Cola freestyle machine, so lots of different options for drinks! Stir fry was delicious as ever and they've added yum yum sauce to make it even better. This place is great if you like Mongolian barbecue We came in with a large group of 66 people and they have a huge grill where they cook the food and can prepare up to 10 people's food at a time. we also had kids with peanut allergies and seafood they have a different wok where they prepare the food for the kids who have allergies. we were in and out of there in no time. This was one of my favorite restaurants since it opened in Beavercreek, Oh. Unfortunately, it has fallen off the list of restaurants I would even consider going back to anytime soon. We dined there last evening and the quality of the food and the cleanliness of the restaurant was less than to be desired. First, the meat, salad, sauce, and veggie bar was a hot mess. The maintenance and wipe down process did not occur during our visit. The salad bar had brown lettuce and mushy tomatoes and fruit. It was concerning to look at or even eat. The rib eye meat had a terrible gamey smell and taste that seemed old and not fresh. The chef grilling the entree burnt the creation I had made and also did not even care to blend the sauce for the dish. So I had some of the dish with sauce and the other part with no sauce. The grill area and floor surrounding the area looked like it had not been cleaned in while. Dirty floor equals dirty food preparation. I could only imagine what the kitchen would look like. The white rice that came to the tables looked liked burnt rice. It was crunchy or it tasted like pebbles vs soft and fluffy white rice. The price for my bowl was $17.99. For that price I would have rather gone somewhere edible and clean. To all the food lovers out there be aware of BD Mongolian Grill. read more

We had a lovely dinner there on July 29, 2022 around 6:00. We were seated in the bar area and were waited on by Charley. She was friendly and helpful and made our dinner a delightful time. The food was delicious too and came to us quickly once we made our bowls. Charley made sure we had everything we needed and our refills kept coming.
